  1. Past hour
  2. Can't say I know anything about Miller from Hibs, but on paper it seems like a decent signing. I just wish these deals weren't always just to replace an outgoing player, as it always feels like the club are just playing catch-up. Real shame to lose Brittain, who after an initial 18 months of being very inconsistent seemed to really kick on last year and became a key player, arguably the best RB in the league. The club have massively fumbled his contract, as I suspect they will for Travis and Tronstad as well. Notice how talk of Hyam signing a new deal has gone quiet again? He'll be another one that walks for nothing. I suppose at least the club are getting some money for Brittain. Hopefully Miller and Alebiosu are enough to cover the RB spot.
  3. For what it's worth, we spent the day in Haugesund yesterday and went up to the ground to have a look, they leave it open so tourists can have a walk in and sit in the main stand. The bloke working there noticed my lads rovers shirt and struck up conversation with us about Tronstad and how much he is loved there, they knew about his contract situation and seemed to think he will do one more year here before moving back, his wife still spends most of her time in Haugesund they were telling us.
  4. The Travis and Tronstad efforts will increase in the coming weeks once they've dealt with Brittain and got his money banked. Expect to hear more tales of 'unhappiness', wanting to move back to Norway, other clubs offering money we can't compete with etc. They've known for months that Brittain was off and I dare say have wanted this outcome, hence zero serious effort to renew his contract, as confirmed by Brittain in his press interview. The stunt with Nixon and Jackson, both fed by club insiders, claiming that a new deal was imminent another lie to dress it up as though Rovers are reluctant sellers and to keep the fanbase on side.
  5. It is measured the same way: Upon promotion clubs have to provide the relevant financial info for the promotion year plus the year prior to that. Those 2 years plus their first in the Championship = their first 3 year cycle.
  6. 1. Winners of the Championship The unpredictable Championship seemingly doesn't have a "wow" team this season, but on paper and with Keiran McKenna still as their manager, plus financial clout behind them, I'd be surprised if Ipswich Town don't win the league. 2. Automatic promotion (runners-up) in the Championship Premier League parachute payment team Southampton, though I'm pretty sure I said Luton Town in this spot last year 😁 3. Four Play off semi-finalists in the Championship Sheffield United, Leicester City, Coventry City (because aren't they always?) and Birmingham City. 4. Three relegated sides from the Championship Poor old Sheffield Wednesday (Chansiri OUT), Charlton Athletic (we all want Nathan Jones to go down don't we?) and Hull City. 5. Where will Rovers finish in the Championship? 16th 6. First Championship club to change manager (after the season starts) Paul Heckingbottom and Preston has never seemed a happy marriage 7. Winners of the Premier League Manchester City, Pep usually responds. 8. A notable wild card prediction of something that will happen in the Rovers universe during the season (e.g. Donald Trump visits Ewood Park) Rovers lose to John Eustaces Derby County a record six times in one season having drawn them in the League Cup, where Owen Beck pops up with the winner, at home in the league where Danny Batth scores in front of the Blackburn End, in the FA Cup where Andi Weimann comes off the bench to fire the Rams into Round 4, at Pride Park January signing Tyrhys Dolan scores against Rovers. Both teams reach the playoffs where Rovers once again are defeated by Eustace at Ewood and finally at Pride Park in the Semi FInal 2nd Leg where 84 year old George Courtney comes out of retirement to award the home side a penalty in stoppage time which is duly dispatched by Duncan McGuire. More seriously, the fans to put more effort into the 150th Anniversary than the club. Officially, it passes with a whimper.
  7. He's seems more ball carrier midfielder who goes box to box. None
  8. Im not sure exactly how it will work. But for the next 2 seasons they will still have a League 1 season in their 3 year FFP cycle so it wont be measured in the same way as a club that has spent 3 years in this league. I know League 1 clubs dont have the same Β£39m over 3 seasons of eligible losses framework. Birmingham spent loads in League 1 presumably taking advantage of that.
  9. He probably already knows he won't be offered anything beyond 12 months at a time so he's thinking ahead, i think that is closer to the truth.
  10. 1. Winners of the Championship Ipswich 2. Automatic promotion (runners-up) in the Championship Southampton 3. Four Play off semi-finalists in the Championship Leicester, Sheffield United, Birmingham, Coventry 4. Three relegated sides from the Championship Sheffield Wednesday, Charlton, Portsmouth 5. Where will Rovers finish in the Championship? 15th 6. First Championship club to change manager (after the season starts) Southampton 7. Winners of the Premier League Liverpool 8. A notable wild card prediction of something that will happen in the Rovers universe during the season (e.g. Donald Trump visits Ewood Park) Suhail will be sacked
  11. Wrexham must surely be in deep trouble next season if they don’t go up. Know they will have good commercial revenue but the wage spending of the last few years surely isn’t sustainable.
  12. They have made a number of impressive signings on paper. I would suggest that is not at the top of the list and could cause issues down the line financially although he could provide leadership and know how to an inexperienced defence. Their midfield and attack look fairly strong. Their new keeper is shocking though.
  13. We don't have to "bring anything to the party." We are just fans discussing our opinions. For all of these connections you supposedly have, for the "plenty" of information that you hear, the vast majority of what you post turns out to be wrong. You regularly say that a player whose clearly attracting the interest of other clubs/likely to leave is indeed going to leave imminently. You did it for Rhodes and Szmodics about 50 times each. Saying that about Brittain this week and also suggesting that the wrong club was in the lead doesnt prove the credibility of your information. You dont have to be an ITK (and clearly are not) to justify posting your opinions on a messageboard. As an aside, the fact that we were playing in Holland had been on twitter days before you said. And even if you arent on there, whoever told you probably saw it on there.
  14. Conor Coady to Wrexham. Β£2m. Could be an okey signing, but Coady turns 33 during this season. Wonder if it’s 2 or 3 year deal. Rumored to be on 70k p.w.
  15. I was sat behind the dug-outs and the Rovers captain was embarrassed when the brought the Curzon pennant over.
  16. Ipswich Southampton Coventry Leicester Sheffield United Rovers Sheffield Wednesday, Watford, Preston 6th Watford Liverpool Balaji turned up to Wrexham game to meet their Hollywood owners
  17. I find it strange that two prolific posters disagree vehemently with each other but both go after you with zeal. Keep posting and ignore them. The vast majority of posts on this thread when talking about signings (in and out) never come to fruition and should be treated as what they are - rumour and speculation. And that is what keeps the thread going.
  18. No, I'm only referring to a comment above that says he is going.
  19. Very sad to hear Travis will be off, if it's true. Gutting. Our best players up against us in the same League while we watch Cadbury's Assorted FC.
  20. He said that in a Norwegian podcast with a local newspaper in Haugesund where his girlfriend is from and where he spent some amazing years playing for Haugesunds FK. His dream is to go to PL, but that won’t happen with rovers and him turning 30 this year it makes sense to go back to Norway to finish his career and take care of his family.
  21. πŸ˜‚ How could I? to be fair - he did contribute and is a solid player for the remaining 10-15 minutes to see out games. I feel more confident with subbing in Forshaw then Bucko to see out a game.
  22. Surely one of the players/coaches could’ve coughed up seven quid for one? (Ok, it’s for your car, but just don’t let on) https://www.roverstore.co.uk/giftsaccessories/souvenirs/badges-keyrings-f/4369_blackburn-rovers-car-pennant.html
  23. Seems to be. Lots of big clubs linked with him in the past, but doubts over his fitness. The player wants to come and both clubs seem keen so I think it will get done eventually. We are probably stalling until Brittain gets sold and we have some money come in.
  24. Today
  25. I am not going to sit back and let you post rubbish about me. It doesn't bother me if he goes to either Derby or Middlesbrough so I have nothing to accept. The only thing I accept is he wont be a Rover by the end of this week. Derby haven't put another bid in? How would you know that? I stand by what I posted on Monday morning - at that point, I was told Derby were leading the way and Brittain would be gone by the end of the week - that does not suggest to me that Derby have done nothing since making their first bid some 3 weeks ago!!! As for Brittain signing a new contract - I posted what I was told 3 days before the Stanley game ie Rovers would announce Brittain's new contract and two new signings before the Stanley game. So what happened before the Stanley game - Middlesbrough made their play for Brittain and we are told a medical issue with Baradji had been found. All you seem capable of is rubbishing players and managers when they have left Rovers, rubbishing players other teams sign and glorifying, parrot fashion, all that comes out of Rovers. Spot on. You just love having a go at me don't you! I post in good faith. If I hear something and I think it can be shared on a MB then I do. If I hear something 'sensitive', and I hear plenty, then for obvious reasons I refrain from posting. I do not make wild guesses!!! JRC gone - posted before reported anywhere Two signings before Stanley game - posted before reported anywhere about a 2nd signing. I knew it was Baradji but too sensitive to name Friendly set-up for this weekend with Netherlands' club - posted before reported anywhere Brittain - just how specific do you want it. Posted he would leave before end of this week Brittain - seems you are suffering from Chaddyitis! I did not guess the wrong club! I did not say he was going to Derby! I posted on Monday morning "I am told Brittain will be gone this week and atm (at the moment), Derby are leading the way" - what part of that do you not understand? Clearly, Middlesbrough armed with the Hackney money changed all that. Just what do you bring to the party?
