2025 Summer Transfer Thread. π

Money, human nature has always been the same. -
They weren't draws, the draw was made before the tournament started, later fixtures were determined by football results, any supposed luck ended with the original draw.

Why? -
I know the guys , who did the banner photos are fully signed up to the Coalition, but the astronaut one is adapted organically by someone else. There is a Mount Rushmore one as well. I think the banner group might even be reviewing whether publishing the banner photos should have waited for the Coalition or whether this could be a case of fans doing their thing/ "expressing themselves"?

A ludicrous suggestion IMO. Travis is probably our most important player. He has been here for ages, knows the club inside out, runs the dressing room, club captain, can be relied upon to keep fit and play 40+ games every season and rarely needs to come off in games. His importance cannot be underestimated and it is no coincidence that our success in the first half of last season coincided with Eustace maximising him and making him central to what he was doing. Also no coincidence that he's one of the few players we have left capable of attracting cash interest from rival (ambitious) clubs. Also no coindence that he's been earmarked for departure by the rancid regime who are desperate to extract more cash from saleable assets and chop the wage bill down further. -

I just donβt get how that stops interference. Club A bids Β£700,000 whilst club B is only willing to pay the compensation fee. He talks to both clubs (as is his right) and if he chooses B they just pay the compensation figure. -

Donβt get me wrong Iβm not saying the fella doesnβt work hard on the pitch but I just canβt see what he offers in terms of warranting a big pay rise if thatβs what he is after. He played well in a really poor Championship in terms of standard last season. Being box to box as you say means contributing at the top end of the pitch Rovers are hugely lacking in creativity and Travisβs attacking stats are woeful. If we are looking at this Kleersmacker bloke to be fair he had more goals, assists and far less bookings so more readily available for selection. Could actually be a good replacement on paper -

Star-studded.....Whigfield....LOL -
Its not about whether we won or lost, but the standard of opposition relevant to the stage of the tournament. Playing France in a quarter final was bad luck. Playing Germany in the last 16 considering we presumably won the group was bad luck. All of the other knockout games I would consider to be favourable draws.

Honestly, I thought the pink one was top notch. It was clearly the popular choice around town this year. As a XL wearer away from Rovers kits, I needed 3XL which I then took into town to get shortened and the fit was worryingly fine. I may be 'big' but I'm bloody well not 3XL big! I would have got a home shirt this year if it had been very '150th' themed. I may or may not get an away as it depends on the design. Any special one-off 150th bonus shirt would need to be football style (in material) rather than the cotton rugby jersey for me as I don't like heavy fabric.

To get him without interference from other clubs. They can afford to take the risk. -

A club could sign him and pay much less under the EPPP compensation scheme. This sets a fixed fee based on time spent at (and the category of) an academy. His fee under this would be around Β£40,000-Β£60,000 (not sure how part years count). Why a club would pay far more than they have to for him π€·ββοΈ -
Did Southgate have bad luck having to play the teams he lost to, or did the luck only stretch to having good luck playing the teams he beat?

Travis has just had a brilliant season... One of the best mids at this level. Also he isnt really a sitting midfielder, hes got a lot better since Tronstad came in to play deeper and Travis became more box to box. -

Seems like Wilder is losing a battle that many managers do where it is deemed that data nerds are better positioned to build a squad over someone who has managed football teams for a number of years. Obviously a manager shouldnt select every player but obsessing over data obviously discards the important intangibles needed in building a football club. If it gets the knobhead that is Chris Wildwr out of football for a bit though then im all for it. -

I guess with Wrexham they do have quite good "death spiral" potential... Such is the focus and media frenzy on them that if they struggle could turn very toxic very quickly. I expect them to be fine, but if they do get a run of bad results it could be interesting. -

I had no idea you could be paid that sort of money for a 13 year old... Is this a world record fee for a 13 year old or seen before?? Cant be good for a kids mental health to have that sort of money attached to you so so young. -
