  2. Absolutely we can form and have opinions no doubting that at all o have many and got many wrong myself but it’s to do with what they do in a rovers shirt and the overall point I’m making as stated above the majority of this forum didn’t want batth and the same folk now want two more years from him.
  3. People do judge based on how they play for Rovers. If they didnt then people wouldnt have adjusted their opinion based on how well he did. The opposite of writing him off before a ball is kicked. But when a player signs, people will likely have positive or negative opinions based on whatever they have. Whether they have seen the player lots or whether its more limited. People should freely share their opinions otherwise this thread is null and void.
  4. There’s a greater point to my post and it’s more to do with writing players off before they kick a ball for rovers. Granted the transfer pot were playing in isn’t top tier or even second tier and some of the names linked are unknowns or maybe not super inspiring but batth prime example that in some cases (certainly won’t be in all) let’s judge on their output and performance for rovers as opposed to other clubs fans views/youtube etc

  6. He is definitely better with a more dominant partner but he won player of the season next to Carter in his first season here. Carter when he has played in the last 2 years has been shaky yet for some reason all of the criticism goes to Hyam. We cant afford to lose key experienced players and he is one.
  7. If we can’t re sign Batth I would also flog Hyam and try find a new cb pairing, he can’t play next to Wharton or Carter and needs guidance every minute or he is a liability
  8. Where has the info come from that we wore a Maltese Cross on our first shirts?
  9. We've learned a lesson and so should the club. A top player is a top player and as long as he is fit and performing there should be no issue in wanting to keep them but this is all about the counterproductive self inflicted 'over 30' rule. ie no resale value so no value at all to the head office which deals in financial numbers not football ones and they give the orders.
  10. Norwich must be in the 1/3 then, must be a fair old queue for his signature now.
  11. Great effort chaps, well done. I find it odd that, of the ones I've seen, the teams are quite young. Most won't remember anything before the Prem - as you proved, you can't beat a bit of experience! (Are you listening Suhail!? 😄)
  12. It’s funny how this has all come full circle in 1 year. Many poster on here actually the majority of posters on here were sceptical of his signing last season said he was past it his injury record was a concern couldn’t get on for Norwich and was done. Now there’s an uproar he can’t get a two year contract (some of the same posters too) brilliant
  13. @rog of the rovers & me have been debating this for weeks 😆
  14. You’ll have to go back through our archive…we’re on a much-needed summer break 😎 The Matt Jansen, Don Mackay & Simon Garner ones are particularly enjoyable IMHO 👌
  15. He'd start at 2/3rds of the clubs in this league without even blinking.
  16. He was pro active at least and a contrast to virtually everything under Venkys, Suhail and Waggot were react when you've carelessly let a situation develop was the order of the day' Or in other words do nowt unless you have to.
  17. I'd be far happier keeping all three.
  18. No Im not saying he was some contractual guru, he just happened to be in situ at the time when funds were available, they now aren’t and that’s that.
  19. I'll tell you what, I will be far more disappointed if Travis, and or Tronstad leave, than if Dolan does.
  20. The fella reckons that older lad that’s been released after spending the season at Chesterfield and Leyton Orient is the better player, so don’t expect a sensible debate.
  21. Even if Broughton was still here and on the case i don't think it would make much difference because they'd do the same to him as they do to all new managers, head coaches etc. Show the dog the rabbit and allow them a couple of quid to invest then slam the door shut and say you're on your own we have our own problems to deal with. In fact they did that to him. Same will happen with Gestede and Ismael they'll get a couple of million at very best - including wages - to spend. A player will be sold from under them at some point alongside several other departures then next time they go asking for money they'll be blanked. Rinse and repeat.
  22. His value is at least an average championship wage going off the number of games hes now played and reflecting his age and future sell on potential. He'll have been way under that and is entitled to ask for as much as he wants it doesn't mean he wouldn't have settled for less but it's way too late now anyway. Another lad worth 2 or 3 mill going for nothing whilst his replacement will likely not be up too much but at least rigger and the other Dolan knockers are happy eh.
  23. You can't guarantee anything because the guy has already stated he wants to stay here and according to font of truth Nixon Rovers have made him a decent offer but it's only a year. He wants two and according to Nixon Derby would match that but he didn't say if the terms were better or not. End of the day it might come down to Batth deciding if he stays here another year for a decent wage or gambles for lesser money but more security down there. Football wise though he'd be mad to leave here where he's almost guaranteed to be first choice as the season begins. Sometimes it can be as simple as they want to go on holiday and mull it over.
