  1. Past hour
  2. Yesterday proved that Gardner-Hickman should he starting every day over Taveres.
  3. Didn't need anymore proof really other that the two plays that finally stopped the game.
  4. That was a unique situation where there was no possibility to complete the season. Logic only says that if we are Rovers fans. Id take that but it wouldnt be fair. But we didnt have it in the bag. There was 10 minutes plus some injury time so as much as I would happily take a win, it wouldnt be fair to do so. Basing a result on an incomplete match would be the least fair way. Any other way would at least put the game back in the hands of the 2 teams.
  5. It was a waste of time and seemingly just for show. The pitch was obviously unplayable.
  6. I thought what the ref did when he came back on with his linemen was a bit of a joke. At least they could have tried passing the ball between themselves a couple of times. The end result would have been the same but they would have had a bit more credibility.
  7. Diego Armbando Maradona??.. 🤔
  8. You are clearly incapable of looking beyond your bias because obviously we are frustrated that the game was called off. You are manifesting a situation whereby McKenna has managed to force the referee to stop a game that could have been played. You also keep manifesting a situation where all of our players are injured for the replayed game and suggest that people would change their mind if that was the case. Its all irrelevant to the decision that had to be made. The game couldnt be continued, it is as simple as that. 5 yard passes were stopping in the water. The ball couldnt bounce on the pitch. Players couldnt run forward with the ball, Clarke tried to do so and was essentially tackled by standing water. This narrative of being "screwed" and the way you are talking is just you allowing your petulance to convince yourself that they could continue on a pitch like that. They clearly couldnt. If you want to be angry at someone beyond the weather, direct it at the owners and Suhail for failing to fund the work required to upgrade the drainage on the pitch.
  9. He came off at half time during their mid week game and he wasn’t in their match day squad yesterday. Make of that what you will.
  10. That’s why we have risk assessments in society. If something is deemed dangerous, then suitably qualified people, make the call, to stop people like you coming along and tearing them a new one, for not eliminating the risk. if you can’t see that things have evolved since 2017 and lessons have been learned, fine, but that’s what has happened and I would rather rely on the professionals to make these important decisions that could be life changing for people.
  11. When he got riled he could put in a hard a tackle as anybody.
  12. All ifs again. They played 80 mins on it and the rest of the game should have played. Nothing more to add. We played on worst pitches like Portsmouth home game 2017.
  13. As iv'e said before the pillock in charge doesn't care about costing points he only cares about anything costing money. Be it players, wages, managers, away trips etc etc he's not bothered, financial squeeze comes first and if you can make do then make do.
  14. I've said my opinion on all this and I stand by this. Got nothing to add to this
  15. Go on then, they can have a resident visa.
  16. The first six games suggests an extremely unpredictable league this year. QPR went from losing 7-1 to Coventry to winning three in a row. Sheffield United have collapsed. Sheffield Wednesday have shown you can compete even with negative support from your owner and a bare bones team (although this will likely bite hard for them as the season goes on). Derby would have expected to build on last season but look poor so far. Looking precarious for Oxford, but they've had some good draws lately which show signs of progress. As you say, promoted clubs this year look solid and Brum/Wrexham in particular shouldn't have to worry about going down. Leicester have immense quality but aren't playing particularly well. Same for Ipswich. Southampton less so in terms of quality, but you'd still expect better from them. Total gamble appointing a 32 year old as manager mind. Boro look very impressive under Rob Edwards. Stoke started well under Mark Robins, despite a disappointing result for them yesterday. Two very shrewd appointments by clubs who have underachieved for a number of years. Still early days of course, but from what I've seen so far the league is going to be less predictable than ever this season.
  17. It doesn’t mean it was right though. How would you feel if one of the players got seriously injured, due to the conditions? It’s more important to ensure that everyone remains safe, than competing a match in a pitch, that had become dangerous.
  18. Ultimately we've only played 5 league games and lost 3 of them. Appreciate this thread came off the back of one of those wins, but far too early to say whether we've dodged a bullet or not. I think our first 11 is good enough to keep us up, but it remains to be seen how we cope with injuries and suspensions as time goes on. Either way, it's not acceptable that our goal is now just to survive with cheap gambles. Venky's need to go and give us the chance to have some real ambition again.
  19. Well, this strategy has already taken us down twice with two or three near misses too
  20. Today
  21. Moistés Caicedo the midfielder enforcer / swimming coach.
  22. Let's lighten the mood. Who can complete the 'match abandoned' 11? Jordan Pitchflood in goal Danny Hose left back John Canoe up front Clint Dampsey playing just behind Riverdo bringing Brazilian flair
  23. Typical of the weather to be good today unlike yesterday when it was pouring down. Just one day of this rain and f’s us up entirely. Could only happen to us!
  24. Anyway to get back to what we actually saw. I thought we played quite well given the conditions. We seemed to have a pattern of play and a decent shape. I was expecting a lot more from Ipswich. They certainly didn’t look like a team that was playing in the Prem this time last season. Toth was my man of the match closely followed by Cantwell. We’ve got a good goalkeeper there. Miller did ok at centre back but I thought it was noticeable that Ipswich didn’t press him much, preferring to let him try to pass the ball out. Maybe they thought his distribution wasn’t up to much. The rest of the back four did ok. Alebioso had his hands full with their winger so he didn’t get forward as much as we would have liked. Cantwell looked our best player in midfield and he took a superb penalty under really taxing conditions. Regarding Ipswich booing him, somebody once told me- They don’t bother booing bad players Tyrone. Tronstad was just Tronstad, the new guy did nothing wrong out there but it was back to having two guys in central midfield who rarely get forward. Anybody know what happened to Tavares ? Up front I like the look of Morishita, he looked to be a threat. Hedges was quiet but steady. His good left foot is more useful out on the left I think. That brings us to Ohashi, I really like him and you can’t fault his effort but leading the line, especially in home games, is not his strength. I know he “ won “ us the penalty but I’d prefer Gudjohnsen there next time out. Bring Yuki on when the defenders have played 60-70 minutes.
  25. I'm pretty certain in my mind that had the situation been reversed and we were down to the men and losing you would be saying the opposite. And I'm also pretty certain you'll deny this.
  26. Yes. The pitch was fine all through the first half. If he had called that off at 2.30pm there would have been uproar. You really do find a way to blame the ref every game.
  27. That’s like playing “ Russian Roulette “ though. One season you’ll get it all wrong and the latest set of new signings will relegate you.
