  1. Past hour
  2. Complete guess: Id wager he's on about £7-8k p.w. now and Derby have offered to double that. I remember years ago when Trav was a kid a mate of mine who knew him a bit saying he was threatening to leave because a) He was on £2k p.w. which he thought was a shit wage and b) He was behind Evans and Smallwood in the pecking order and he thought he was a lot better than both of them. He wasn't wrong on either count.
  3. Tavares did pretty well, and certainly agree on your comments on the young lads not being ready and needing an overhaul in attack. We have no competent wingers. Need 2 and a striker.79 But of course we will miss Travis.
  4. Left unmarked on the back post to stick it in the net, shit defending.
  5. the right back experiment needs binning,i thought he did ok when moved into the middle,he`s not at starting level by any means though
  6. On a slight tangent, my E-Ticket worked perfectly well tonight.
  7. So all in all, a fun time down at Ewood had by all! Yay.
  8. Eustace knows all this that's why hes been after virtually every half decent players we had. They have a budget and hes told them they can get cheap good standard Championship players from Blackburn due to low salaries.
  9. Do you still think that my comments about squad depth are "ridiculous?"
  10. According to this he is on 15k pw https://salarysport.com/football/championship/blackburn-rovers/
  11. He’s probably on £15k ish isn’t he. JDT said we had to save his wage as a high earner when he went to Ipswich.
  12. Sammie out with his Ipswich against Bromley and Brittain and Boro taking a thrashing against Doncaster.
  13. If we'd have offered him a pay rise and another 3 years on his deal 12 months ago, even in December/January, he'd have snapped our hands off. The liars and shysters running the club won't mention that to Jackson when they claim to have tried really, really hard to keep him (lie) and will be patting themselves on the back though for 'saving' that wage increase. Only it has led to his departure, a manager's departure and probably will end with relegation to League One.
  14. im`e not criticising the manager anymore,we could have ancelloti, mourinho and pep in charge,if the hierarchy keep destroying the playing side there is`nt a lot you can do about it
  15. According to my link Trav is on 3.5k pw Hyam and Cantwell the highest earners.
  16. When did Travis last sign a deal at Rovers? I seriously doubt he's on anything like £15k -£20 k p.w. currently. If Derby are prepared to "double his money" it probably shows what a poor wage (relatively speaking) he's currently on.
  17. There is no way Travis is on 15k pwk here, non and he isn't trousering 30k pwk at a club like Derby, no chance. He'll be on about 10k here ( anybody on that amount or more will be nudged towards the door). At Derby he'll get a bit more, a signing on fee plus offered a 3 or 4 year deal. No way was he offered that here either.
  18. If Derby are willing to pay him twice his salary then that is the going rate. It’s not a coincidence that none of our established players are signing contracts. We are not paying people what they deserve and why on earth would they sign for inferior terms? It’s not like Derby are Al Ittihad.
  19. Just back from the match… Caught cold in the first five minutes. Montgomery for the first goals and Michalski for the second goal. Should’ve still won with the chances we had but we don’t have enough finishers. I was really impressed with Tavares and Miller. Tavares - Is mobile, athletic and very tidy on the ball. A proper ‘up and down’ number 8. Based on that performance, we won’t miss Trav. Miller - Solid, Mobile and full of character. Have a feeling he’s going to be some kind of cult hero! Henriksson - looked slightly off the pace but there’s definitely a player in there. Found space in between the lines and was dangerously. Wharton and Pickering played well. In honesty, my overriding feelings are that the young lads (Michalski, Montgomery and Tyjon) are 100% NOT ready. The other thing that was glaringly obvious is that we NEED forward reinforcementS. Not one, but two or three. My team for Brum: Toth Miller. Hyam. Wharton Pickering Taveres Sonny Henriksson. Cantwell. De neve Ohashi Michalski, Alebiosu, McLaughlin, Ribeiro, Travis, Buckley, Hedges, Kargbo, Gueye
  20. According to this Cantwell has 30k pw. https://www.capology.com/club/blackburn/salaries/
  21. Season is looking like a pending disaster already after two games. Team fielded tonight should've been more than enough to brush off a newly-promoted L1 side. - Michalski and Montgomery needs to be loaned out. - We need to go for an experienced keeper in the transfer market once(if) we sell Pears - Find it hilarious that we might have sign a THIRD right back this transfer window. Montgomery is way below Championship standard and today Miller was tested at centre back position. They can't really be that clueless when recruiting players?! - What kind of standards are VI setting on the training pitch? Can he discern which players are a level above others or do he need to see them in actual matches? Intensity level? Do they work on different match scenarios on and off possession? Do they work on how to break down different kinds of defensive lines (low-block, mid-block etc.)? Transitions? Set pieces? Or is it all about physical output and endurance training? Why are we struggling to create chances against L1 opposition? - We have lost a lot of Championship experience with the departures of Batth, Brittain and Dolan. There are genuine concerns that some of the signings are simply not up to standard (De Neve, Henriksson) but perhaps a bit too early to judge. - Those academy minutes emphasized by Gestede is turning out to be quite a joke now. The only talented and remotely close to be part of first team squad is Tyjon but my guess is he will reject our contract offer and go to Arsenal. - We need to strengthen our attack considerably before window closes. - We need to solve the Mafoumbi situation quickly if we're looking to sign players who needs to be allocated an ESC slot.
  22. Montgomery is not good enough for first team football
  23. One thing I will say in his defence (albeit also been underwhelmed) is that generally his vision in part relies on the intelligence of others to do good runs and show some smart movement. Since there's a fair few players low in the football IQ stakes it's no wonder we don't use him to his potential.
