  1. Past hour
  2. I'd be quite happy with this one. Not seen much of him but his International record isn't bad at all for 23. Could be a good option for that lone role. Looks physical enough and should be technically good- given his time at youth level in Spain. If his style is anything like his dads, he should be a good fit for us. Another player with a big upside should he have a decent season or 2.
  3. There is a photo of Tony Field and Pele playing together at New York cosmos. The caption says :" The greatest player in the world, and Pele".
  4. That's 90% of Twitter accounts to be fair
  5. I am super excited by this one. Normally the genes has a lot to say. Real Madrid academy who else was deemed not good enough for the real academy and had to ply their trade elsewhere? Martin Odegaard (cap of Arsenal) May have a massive potential
  6. Go on YouTube. The goal was for Sheffield United v Ipswich. If you didn’t know it was Tony Field you’d think it was Messi. A brilliant bit of skill. Incidentally I was browsing the racks in TKMaxx years ago and I came across two replica New York Cosmos shirts by β€œ Umbro β€œ , one home and one away. β€œ Pele β€œ and β€œ 10 β€œ on the back. I just couldn’t leave them there. I was hoping to get the great man to sign them one day. Too late now.
  7. I’m so what confused with the thread and the excitement at the new look Rovers. Some are even saying Gestede has done a great job. On the surface we have an exciting new squad but dig deeper and we have assist stripped, cut wages, disposed of the established vocal and passionate players who would speak out, sold academy local. grown talent, a goal keeper Pears who’s not been heard of for ages, and back room staff being disposed of, there is so much unrest and change at the club it frightens the F out of me and is seriously strange. I’ve not know a club make such sweeping changes in a season. goodness know what agent payments have been made and pockets feathered with these transfers-someone will gain. So who’s pulling the strings in these transfers? Whose benefiting, why the whole squad overhaul (and lack of contracts is a poor excuse as they’ve not been offered/played under valued ) the apathy and denial between the fan base of some serious concerns, lack of anger and pointing finger at people jumping ship as snakes or not loyal worries the hell out of me. Yet those pulling the stirngs on the surface are painted as doing a great job in loosing deadwood. why isn’t everyone jumping with rage 😑 is beggars belief
  8. Interesting one and he’s scored some goals at international level. Hopefully he’s suited to the championship.
  9. Must be some truth in it , this lad is fairly reliable, €2m price tag:
  10. Fair play to RoversXtra on X...Gets some stick for whatever reason but does get some good leads.
  11. Not even as if it is massive amounts, how much would it cost in total to pay his wages till January?
  12. I park in the hood on Infirmary Street. A fair walk to the ground, but I find it quick getting away and I’m never stuck in any traffic after.
  13. I was looking at their previous fixtures list, one of the aways might have been an efl cup tie.
  14. Today
  15. Predicted Rovers XI: Toth; Alebiosu, Hyam, McLoughlin, Ribeiro; Tronstad, Tavares; Kargbo, Cantwell, Hedges; Ohashi. I'm hoping to see Morishiti ( forgot the spelling) at some point of the game.
  16. Doesn't appear to be. He played a total of 5 minutes in the opening 2 games of the season and then hasn't been selected for the squad over the past 2 games. I've looked around and can't see anywhere where it says he's injured. He just seems out of favour. Gent do have a new manager this season, so maybe that's part of it.
  17. Impressive how much of this reads like Arnor Sigurdson. I don't remember Eidur being a chunky character but his soon seems a bit girthy
  18. Barcelona moved him back into midfield if I recall. It seems he was still a 1 in 3 striker when played up front, but spent a fair bit of time further back whilst at Barca Played as... Centre-Forward 39 13 4 Attacking Midfield 22 2 - Left Winger 6 1 - Right Winger 3 - 1 Central Midfield 3 - 2 Second Striker 1 - 1
  19. Ok, so here come the Canaries, flapping into fortress dilapidated and dated Ewood for a 3pm showdown with our ragbag of unknown unknowns, 'why is he here' stars, quiet as a mouse muscle-men, and I'll toe the line for Β£10k a week underperformers, all cobbled together under the vengeful and unhinged watch of Mr Sideline Shadow Dancer, Please sir can I go to the toilet Teaboy, and Cross Me at your Peril eyebrows Ismael. What are the expectations for the afternoon? A glorious reprise of a famous 7-1 demolition? A whingeing crowd murmuring in hollow discontent at the lack of anything to enjoy and an absence of A3 baggage? A salutory reminder of the vagaries of amateur football club management as a substitute for structure and strategy? Hmm..yesterday at lunchtime I was (for about a nanosecond) more optimistic that there might be an actual plan. Pasha, buffoon and clearly in need of a damned good enema, put paid to that (we are told) by taking a last minute.com dump on Harry Leonard's last chance saloon. So, back to square one, as the professional snakes (sic) and ladders player in me likes to revert to in times of great confusion, like the last 14-15 years under the absent shadow snake charmers. Quick question - what would you or I be prepared to do for a Β£500k per year wage? Rhetorical, of course (East Lancs wages have stagnated since the 1980s) but if someone gave you that much wonga and a script that said simply squeeze costs and say nothing, what would you do? (I'd probably squeeze costs and say nothing, to be fair). I digress. Looking forward to this afternoon (I'm not, of course, don't be silly!) My gut feeling is that the bad egg smell behind the curtain gets up the players' noses and leads to a less than carnival atmosphere for the whole game...('s funny, isn't that where that Pasha bloke stands..?) Canaries in a coalmine - Rovers 3 Norwich 0 Can air y pin drop around Ewood - Rovers 0 Yellowskins 3 Canairdly bring myself to type this - Reverting to tripe Rovers 0 Huffskipuffski yellows 0 COYB! VENKYS OUT! (naturally - they don't give a shit and don't belong here, and are a blight on football) Cowardly deal quashing-career stalling-prospect ruining SHADOW WANKERS OUT!
  20. Yeah his dad was a really good player. Was roughly a 10-15 goal a season man at Bolton/Chelsea then his goals really dried up when he got to Barcelona. I hope he's half as good as his dad if he was to sign as I really enjoyed watching him play.
  21. Copyright to Clayton’s Left Boot. The best player in the world and no 10, Pele
  22. Always good a football too, I used to play in same team as him at primary school 😊
  23. His dad wasn't a prolific scorer at all, but he was class! Tall strong and pacey with good technique, good ball control and intelligence
  24. I know it's easy to look at G/A from a players previous season, and judge, but there's good pedigree in Gudjohnsen. He came through academies like Real Madrid, Top scorer in the Danish league, experience in the conference league (including an assist) against Chelsea, full international with a few goals already...All this and he's still so young...He's got loads of time to develop and it simply hasn't worked out for him at Gent. If he'd scored a few more he'd have top European clubs looking at him. Taking all of the above into consideration, I find it slightly strange that others arnt in for him - Is he injured?
