  1. Past hour
  2. Itโ€™s not the real relegation thread unless Jim starts it. Accept no imitations.
  3. And we will get that all important striker signed at 23.01
  4. God I'll have regressed that memory if he did. Kenna, Grayson, Curtis, Neill would all be ahead of him in this scenario though? Wikipedia (I know) has him down for 88 appearances in 6 years - with 33 appearances in 2002/2003, so maybe he was more involved than I remember. Maybe he took over from Craig Short as he aged out? Tiny is 45yrs old. Jesus.
  5. There were some really incredible quizzers in the competition (and some terrible ones!) and very strong teams like Middlesbrough, West Brom and Burton Albion didnโ€™t even make the semis. The others semi-finalists, Leicester and Plymouth, would most likely have beaten us too. Bolton were deserved winners, although we wish we could have made it a tighter finish! Niall in particular was phenomenal โ€“ the first season he remembers is 2000/01 when Rovers and Bolton were promoted, but he knew so much niche stuff from before then too. Perhaps our โ€˜Expected Roundโ€™ was the quarters and we got a decent draw against Man City, so we were delighted to make the semis and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience showing off the Rovers colours.
  6. Will be using my Rovers TV season ticket from behind the settee.
  7. Iโ€™m not sure. Didnโ€™t he have a spell at right back ?
  8. Wonder if we have any players left then
  9. I was watching both Trav and Tron last Saturday closely. On several occasions both players managed to intercept a pass and get half way in front of their immediate opponent. Common football sense says you then run directly in front of your opponent. That way they either have to let you go or foul you, if you have reasonable pace that is. On nearly every occasion they were too slow to run in front and they then had the ball taken off them. This happened several times and I was really surprised at both players lack of pace. Are they being flogging in training ? I know 90% of players will train just as hard as they are made to. Most like an easy life.
  10. All correct except this part - he hasn't publicly stated anything of the sort - our manager has publicly stated this is what he wants. There's potentially a big difference - I personally don't believe anything the hierarchy at Rovers have to say and Ismael will be getting his information and instructions from them.
  11. Eustace left. Something Im sure you can sympathise with.
  12. Was he ever a "Best XI" guy. We had Short and Berg for most of his time with us, and Chirstian Dailly was the starting CB before Berg came back. Amoruso, Babbel and Zurab came in not long after. I'd have Tiny in with Damien Johnson, Jonathan Douglas, John Buckley etc as guys who played and were "Bench" options, but can't say I ever think of him as a quote-on-quote "Starter".
  13. Suspect this will be a very brutal and humiliating afternoon for anyone connected with Blackburn Rovers. Apart from the management of course. Have we told them we'll change kit so that they can play in the kit of their choice yet?
  14. When exactly does the transfer window close ?
  15. Pay our price Derby or feck off, your annoying now.
  16. Itโ€™s only my grandson that keeps me interested. I now think the Chicken Chokers will outlast me unfortunately but Iโ€™m pretty sure they wonโ€™t outlast him as heโ€™s only 18. I desperately want to keep the love of Blackburn Rovers in my family. His dad only maintains a watching brief via the TV nowadays. I am away on holiday. This was our text conversation after last nights game - Grandson - โ€œ Thatโ€™ll teach me for going to midweek cup games โ€œ. Me - โ€œ Yeah, anybody play well ? โ€œ Grandson - โ€œ Tavares my MOM, Cantwell didnโ€™t have a good game but you can still tell heโ€™s a step above the rest โ€œ โ€œ Letโ€™s hope Toth doesnโ€™t get injured cos that Michalski is awful โ€œ. โ€œ Travis off to Derby as well โ€œ. Me - โ€œ Mm, Birmingham up next. โ€œ Grandson - โ€œ Ticket already bought โ€œ. Me - โ€œ Good on you Luke, it wonโ€™t always be like this ! โ€œ Heโ€™s a great kid, off to Uni this year and one of the reasons for the Uni he chose was so he could get over to watch Rovers.
  17. The min Travis was brought back by Eustace and proved his worth to Rovers again is the min he should have had good terms slapped in front of him. Iv'e heard that a big reason for Eustace's displeasure behind the scenes from pretty early on is because he wanted contracts for his core players and prospects to be discussed but was outright blanked. In other words he went into bat for his players because they were doing it for him on the pitch, Mowbray and Venus always did similar that's why they loved him. Players never forget that kind of thing nor do they forget being snubbed in the vain hope they might accept something else offered further down the line. It's a Suhail, Waggot, Venky tactic that has failed time and time again..... or has it, from their point of view ..
  18. I agree with this. Would not sell for ยฃ1.5m. Rather let him go for free.
  19. Think both were bad against WBA, but latter end of season Tronstad was best
  20. I can see him being a real problem but his shoot on sight is very erratic, they need to nullify his supply line but there's be no Travis to protect the back 4 now ๐Ÿคจ
  21. Probably similar in some ways to when you had dodgy Chinese owners. Things being run down to the ground, no ideas or ambition and the feeling relegation is inevitable.
  22. I'd say our best performers last season in no particular order were Travis, Brittain, Dolan and Batth. Guess what! 3 of them are no longer here and one appears to be on his way out. There's a reason for that other Clubs aren't daft and have noticed the way they played last year and are willing to pay for them and our management simply don't care as they are only interested in cutting costs.
