  1. Past hour
  2. I believe he had an op in Switzerland, the deal was done when it was known the op was a success and he might be available after the international break.
  3. Not really, it would make my wife very gloomy. What I was tryng to suggest is that the trinity are on to a good thing and can spin it either way. So, if we do well under the new model, then cost reduction justified. If we don't, then they have ready made excuses. I'm beginning to see JBiz's point (on another thread) re the conundrum of the best way to get rid of the Venkys.
  4. I think a lot of people who work or have worked there until recently in both a football and non football capacity would agree. Don't think it's a coincidence either that a more corporate administration soulless approach has set in since that other Rao fella was stuck onto the board of directors.
  5. Alan Browne will not be coming here, don't be silly.
  6. The Browne link just seems like Nixon being mischievous. He's not as daft as he looks, he knows that would wind Preston fans up so he's thrown the grenade and ran. It gets people talking, it makes him relevant.....
  7. Today
  8. That only works if the selling club doesnt want others to know the player is available. Why wouldn’t they want to drum up interest to increase the price?
  9. Here’s my take…we’re probably now having lots of conversations with lots of agents and clubs as the demand rises. Any that are reported other than LT, or from the actual source (Think Elliot but in the source country / region) are likely agents or clubs trying to drum up interest. I’m not saying we won’t have had a conversation about Browne, he may have been offered to us but it’s more likely he wants to come back to the North west and his agent is using Nicko apply some pressure on his former employers… Rovers, as we have seen will be keeping their cards VERY close to their chest because they know they can’t get into a Willy wagging contest with anyone on fees or wages! I’m expecting replacements in the squad for all leavers. I think those will be Pears, and Leonard. So, that’s a new Keeper, Striker and Midfielder (for Buckley). In the event that Hyam is sold, I think we may ‘stick’ until January and work with Carter, Miller, McLoughlin and Wharton. Interesting few days ahead!
  10. Surely Browne will be wanting more money than we will be offering and would he come here after all those years at Preston Other Championship clubs will be in for him and I'd say Sunderland would be preferring to move him out permanently rather than loaning him.I don't see that one happening would be a good signing though
  11. See what Ismael says on his press conference today
  12. Browne on loan, I think would be an astute signing. Spend the money on a striker. Could see Ellie Youan from Hibs in a panic, last minute signing
  13. Not taking that much notice but I thought I saw Ismael quoted on Wednesday as saying two more signings was the objective. We are reaching the point where PL clubs finalise their squads and decide which players they are loaning out.
  14. Yesterday
  15. Given you backed him in the market now with a few signings, give him the time to see whether he is dud or not
  16. We loaned out Travis and Buckley a few years ago so we could bring in new players. The budget really is that tight under these billionaire owners.
  17. Always seemed Baradji would be the Trav replacement, is Browne a Tronstad replacement? Not sure but this would actually be a very good signing + has plenty of champ experience
  18. I mean, I dont get why whether a young striker who has been continiously injured for years and who hasnt even been under first consideration is loaned out or not, affects whether we should sign someone to improve the first team. But there you go.
  19. I said if Leonard wasn't going to be first team and loan out then we needed a striker in.
  20. What utterly bizarre logic. Why not replace him if hes turned out to be a dud?
  21. Doesnt fit the narrative as much though.
  22. Reportedly bidding for a striker. Which is why you have reverted back to thinking that we need one. We need a striker, goalkeeper and midfielder.
  23. But Ismael said it was one in (winger) and then others would be replacements. This was said BEFORE Beradji came in so he must be a replacement for Trav. So maybe Ismael was stretching the truth Chaddy. You know how much you dislike a manager who isn’t 100% truthful with you!!
  24. No, the opposite - he makes a point of saying 'I can't take any credit for him, other than involving him in first team training', more than once.
  25. United choose this head coach for a reasons. Would I have pick him? No I wouldn't. They now made their bed, lie in it.
  26. This is getting as bad as that famous "What do you think Vinjay looks like?" thread.
  27. It will come from club not his opinion Baradji was always coming. Rovers chased him all summer. Ismael and Gestede always wanted him. Who is a tiny wage? Given we are bidding for Striker currently looks like we want one
  28. Well, at the moment, his salary is £0.
