  1. Past hour
  2. what were people expectations? I was talking to 3 follow Rovers supporting friends who were all saying that given the squad overhaul and everything, staying up was their objective and build on that for next summer. What the point comparing everything to previous seasons when so much has changed not just at Rovers but within the league like the teams involved, transfers, different head coaches, etc. its a couple of players. the squad need re-adjust now cos of the change of formations but nowhere near your doom gloom comments. I remember people praising Birmingham for spending £8m on Kyogo Furuhashi, he has yet to score in the championship and he has struggled in this league. He was their big summer signing and spent over half their transfer spent on him. Some signings work out and some don't. That's is football, you could go through each club transfers and you would be similar were some have work, some ok and some that haven't. You were against him coming here from the start cos of the injury. Since playing, you can see why Ismael wanted him and what was around that. If he carry on and keep getting fitter then I think he will turn out like one.
  3. Devil's advocate mode: If we have a terrible January window, is it not too late to do it after that?
  4. I only mentioned the 2023 thread not as a protest against e ticketing but mainly to demonstrate that the Club's disdain for the fans remains absolutely unchanged since 2023. There's been no improvement whatsoever in that respect. Chaddy has however successfully managed to divert the thread away from the general attitude of the Club and the main issue of whether fans will or will not be boycotting by getting us bogged down in an ultimately pointless debate about cash v cashless ticketing............... I apologise for my part in it.
  5. Bravo. Post of the year 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
  6. No country has a worse human rights record in modern history than the US. It can't be a general moral test, because we would fail. In which case, probably, the key factors should be: will fans and participants be safe, are workers safe (or will there be meaningful and long-term progress towards their safety) and will it work as an event? That's leaving aside the commercial side, which, in the end, will trump everything.
  7. 50% have boycotted already over the past 15 years... about time we made it official. Timing is shocking, going into a transfer window, but coming from team "Express Yourself" it doesn't surprise me.

  10. Plus Forshaw who predictably is rarely available due to injury.
  11. Can’t ‘nip to the website and buy them for Sheff Wed’ though ay…
  12. This thread is literally a thread where Chaddy defends the undefendable. De Neve terrible Tavares even worse Miller is meh (when comparing to Batth and Hyam) McLaughlin same again (when comparing to Batth and Hyam) TGH shit compared to what we had before Henrikson - think he has something but not seen it yet.
  13. Does it matter? How many grounds in the top 2 divisions are over 70% empty?
  14. You keep saying that all teams have poor signings. The only way that would be a valid counter argument is if I said that I expect all of our signings to work out. I obviously dont. What the success or failure comes down to is how many signings are good, how many are poor, how good and poor they are, how well the squad is balanced, and how the team does compared to previous seasons and expectations. We have numerous signings who arent just poor, they are terrible. One in Alebiosu has been an excellent signing. Another in Gudjohnsen has been very good. 3 others have been ok, one hasnt started a game yet and one or two others are a bit below par. The squads massively imbalanced and we are is it 13 places lower in the table. You are making out like every team has an equal amount of successes and failures and its just one of those things. Thats not a case of shrugging and going, well even Ferguson and Mourinho didnt get it right all of the time. Its obviously not comparable to that. And on Baradji. This isnt me having it in for him. He has shown promise in a couple of cameos. But how you can possibly even suggest that hes towards the successful end is ridiculous when he literally hasnt started a game yet.
  15. I know, you repeat your opinion on each player every time someone posts their own. Just because you've repeated it so many times doesnt make it more or less valid than the first time you said it.
  16. you could just nip on the website and buy them before attending and pick your seat. How many grounds take cash on the turnstile these days?
  17. De Neve and Tavares hasn't work out. I've been very clear on that Miller not for me, yes odd games he been poor but the Millwall he was very good.
  18. It's not really the cash or card aspect that's the main problem with Rovers though. It's the lack of availability, tickets being taken off sale days in advance and you can't just nip up on a spur of the moment decision to go along at the last minute and pay either by cash or card at the turnstile.
  19. I think our disagreement is probably more on context. I'd agree that relative to the budget given most of the signings have at least been adequate. However, as far as my ambitions for the club are concerned, not so much. I want us to be better than relegation battlers and history suggests we absolutely should be. In that sense, Alebiosu is probably the only signing I'd put in the good category. Maybe Gudjohnsen at a push but he's still a downgrade on the likes of Armstrong or Szmodics.
  20. Today
  21. But my overall point is everything is moving towards a cashless society and businesses now being card only payment. That's where the market is going to.
  22. This was your last point but I think this should be the first point. Everyone in English cricket is to blame. The County structure/set up isn't right. We need to be playing 10 first class games a season with the best 2 teams playing off to win the overall competition. The hundred is the ECB main focus and not the first class game. then add T20 competitions not just in England but all around the world. I've just been watching BBL and some English players playing in it. That's people focus mainly Dom Sibley, Hameed and Lyth was the best 5 batsmen in Div 1, so we go back to them for this series in place of Duckett or Crawley do we? why? We struggled on these type of pitches cos they don't play enough county cricket or those pitches aren't being produce hence my point about when we should be playing them and not in the last week in September or first week in October. I am blaming ECB chiefs, Key, McCullum, Players and the county game. Everyone is to blame. Ripping it up achieve what? we do it time after time, do results get better in Australia every 4 years? The preparations wasn't right and that been discussed and admitted was wrong but we prepare the same way and its worked. We should have had 2 warm up games for this series, Australia Cricket board aren't going to allow us to loads of warm up games and they wouldn't allow to play at any test ground pre series, See Rob Key's comments Of course they should be full review and what could be improve and what needs to change. I don't think we need to cull everything. Probably a new test coach, few players changes like a new opener replacing Duckett, decide who bats 3, does Stokes as Captain and as all rounder, what is Will Jacks role? who is our best wicketkeeper? who is our best 5 or 6 pace bowlers for different conditions, then we need to decide who is best 2 or 3 spinners in the country and back them. Listen or read to Cook and Swann's comments today https://x.com/cricketontnt/status/2004374945745240372?s=20 Sir Alastair Cook pinpoints 'massive disconnect' as major reason for England's Ashes woes We get rid of the set up after every Ashes series away and do we actually improve? Archer can't finish a test series. Is Root or Stokes going to be around in Australia in 4 years time, highly unlikely. So where are the up and coming batsmen and bowlers and do we bring them in slowly over the next couple of years. Does Stokes stay as Captain? probably. Is Brook ready to take over, probably not. Do we drop Duckett for McKinney or for another opener? is Bethall ready fpr 3 position or should Stokes bat there, Is Smith the best keeper out there? who is our best spinner? who are the future bowlers and why is next 90's mph bowler to replace Archer and Wood long term? alot of questions for Key, Stokes and McCullum/or the next head coach to answer?
  23. Just so. He's also lacks the self awareness to comprehend that his OPINION that we've signed at least 6 players who've been above average is exactly that. No more valid or factual than my opinion that we've signed one excellent one and one with potential out of eleven. The only thing you can judge both opinions against though, are fixed metrics like League position. We should storm League 1 next season though with all these supposedly great players.
  24. To be fair, Litherland did very well against Millwall, both in an attacking and defensive sense, so we didn't miss Alebiousu as much as we might had we not had him as an option. The major concern would have to be the lack of firepower, should Gudjohnssen be unavailable. Yuki isn't reliable enough in front of goal for us to deploy him alone, Hendriksson is untried as a striking option, and that out of favour big lad who even his own team mates take the pish out of on public media well, he would have to suddenly come good when there is nothing to suggest he has the ability to do much other than make faces and noise for social media clips. Consequently, I'm not expecting anything other than a loss here. Rovers will huff and puff all afternoon, but Boro will certainly score, and I don't really see how we will respond other than with a whimper and capitulation. After all, Mr Brittain will be pinging dangerous crosses in at will, so all Boro need is a calm presence in front of goal.. As always I'm happy for the fickle fingers of fate and fortune to fly feverishly in the face of favour. COYB! VENKYS OUT!
  25. there were rumours flying around that in pre season training deneve was "lacking in ability!!" i don`t think iv`e seen anybody so uncomfortable at this level
  26. Imo. At least five out of eleven. A very high percentage. De Neve. Tavares. Forshaw. Henrikssen. Miller. That will become six if Baradji breaks down injured.
