  1. Past hour
  2. Believe me, when I say, I am an extremely fierce critic of the regime and have no desire to defend them for not sending funds. It is complete of their own doing that the restrictions have been put in place, namely the NOC, Bond, permission from the court and now apparently the need for an affidavit and I am not for one second excusing them for not sending funds, I am 100% critical of the mess that they have created that has brought about these impediments, restrictions, barriers, or whatever else, we choose to call them Thankfully, they have been able to comply with them and still send funds and I am hopeful that these remaining in place, leads them to think twice about their ownership and in turn, makes them realise that carrying on, is futile and they agree to sell the club.
  3. DC, will you take 50 pounds for it? I'm not on here much these days, get my email address from Herbie to get in touch. I'll duck in here over the next few days to check it out. DaveB
  4. He may have had his best season ever, I agree on every point. For an attacking winger his contributions other than fitness and tracking back are null.
  5. I didn't get "taken for mugs" about anything. People can argue until the cows come home whether the conditions imposed by the Court are an "impediment" or not. Either way, the owners haven't been sending over like they used to, but clearly they can if they want, because they've just sent Β£4.85 million over. So to the extent that they haven't been sending money, it's because they CHOOSE not to, not because the Court has said they can't. That to me is far worse than them wanting to send money but being unfairly blocked by the Court from doing so. As the most vociferous critics of Venkys, I'm surprised you and Ira persist with this fixation about "there's no impediment" then. First of all there clearly isn't in real terms, as money has now been sent over several times. But more importantly, if there was a genuine impediment to them funding us, then that's the kind of thing that those who are mildly sympathetic to them (such as the buffoons/plants on the Club website) latch on to as an excuse to feel sorry for them.
  6. I've been a big critic of Dolan but he had his best season in a Rovers shirt last season. He tries hard and more usual than not, he has an impact on the game because he grabs the bull by both its horns and has a go. But he's also highly ineffective in his decision-making, as well as in his final delivery. He shouldn't be too hard to replace but I won't say he won't be missed until I see who we line up with in his place.
  7. If Dolan is "bang average" what does that make Hedges?
  8. Today
  9. Dolan had a brilliant last few months in a rovers shirt and was probably our best player. Whether that is him improving and becoming more effective or just a blip is a matter of debate. The Dolan of prior seasons I would have been less upset to see leave. He is a an honest and hard working lad though so would like to think it’s improvement rather than him just working a bit harder for a big move. Definitely be missed next season.
  10. Dolan is bang average. The only issues here is letting another contract run down instead of paying the going rate for a championship player and whondo we replace him with. In the 5 seasons he's played he can't have played well in more than 20 games. This is my opinion of course. And watching him week in week out he has probably been the most frustrating player I've watched over the last 30 years. But he does run around alot. (Although looks like he's running in quicksand )
  11. Well no because I'm not saying anyone who has a different opinion doesn't have a clue am I? You're saying anyone with a different opinion to you is basically wrong/clueless πŸ™„ We've had years of Dolan splitting opinions now, it's nothing new and there's a reason for that, because he's been consistently inconsistent.
  12. I should think there would be great guffaws as we see the reality behind the keyboard warriorship! There's an interim stage we could adopt, which would be a virtual meet, using Zoom, Teams or similar, although I'd wager not many would attend as themselves and there'd be a lot of avatars in the room! I'm going to get an 'Old Codger' badge made, and wear it in the Moorgate before games next season a few times, to see if I can smoke out some of you other curmudgeonly keyboard combatants πŸ™‚ Let's just say, my 'residual self image' (how I think I look to others in reality or in a virtual sense) is definitely well at odds with the physical reality of who and what I actually am πŸ˜‰ And for the avoidance of doubt, I'm more akin to one of the chairs in the above, than either of the actors! (i.e. a bit battered, comfortably upholstered, lacking in hair, somewhat old-fashioned, but occasionally useful)
  13. Seems that the passion we have for the club overspills sometimes and weve been driven to bloody madness. Anyone fancy a pint in the locale one night on a random whim easier to chew the fat and put the world to rights? Should do meet ups would be a laugh
  14. Incredible after all the effort that you put into doing that, how disrespectful that is.
  15. Yesterday
  16. I've also put a boot in, but on ignore so got nothing back πŸ˜‚
  17. Yer mum has had more dongs than a church bell.
  18. It's tasty on here tonight there's about 3 separate rows going on at the same time, i'm feeling left out 🀣
  19. My opinion is his critics haven’t got a clue yes, but equally your opinion is valid too and I’m talking bobbins. Thats how this messageboard stuff works.
  20. He has said it, multiple times, when specifically being asked about contract negotiations, not random interviews. If you don't think the 2 correlate so be it.
  21. If you think Dolan's going upwards from here career wise you'll be in for a shock. He's trying to get a move to a team, any team, that otherwise wouldn't typically pay a transfer fee to sign him. Either way I don't think he will have much of an impact wherever he goes, yes we could end up missing him since we relied far too heavily on him, I'll say it again... due to a lack of investment in his position to give him any sort of decent competition... Other teams probably wouldn't miss him as much since they'd spend a million or two on a replacement. He definitely won't get as many minutes as he did with us as close to the Championship top 6 again. If he somehow manages to fluke a prem move off the back of some decent Sky performances and OTT punditry with us, I can guarantee you he won't feature.
  22. Ya know, if you two blocked each other instead of having the same arguments (about many things), the amount of posts on this forum would probably drop by about 20%. Just saying.
  23. Find me a player who doesn't want to play at the highest level. I'd be far more disappointed if he didn't have that ambition. He has never once said he should be playing in the Premiership now.
  24. @Tyrone Shoelaces Many of us on here love hearing the stories of Rovers games gone by, your knowledge is like an encyclopaedia, superb stuff. I know you're a big Rugby League fan, but were you a massive cricket fan too? Domestically or International? Did you see Boycott block up one end for 3 days and send the rest of the team to picture? Did you see Underwood spin the Aussies out in the ashes? Any stories would we most welcome πŸ‘
  25. Haven't got a clue because people have different opinions? He was ineffective in many games last season, downright wasteful and frustrating in others. He did however turn in some good appearances, the best ones though came towards the end of the season, putting himself in the shop window at all? Nobody knows what he's been offered, but one way or another the valuations don't meet.
  26. Lets be honest, Dolans critics on here haven't got a clue and certainly can't see any bigger picture. If you go to Ewood week in week out and are happy to see Dolan leave, your seat must be behind a pillar in The Riverside. RoverInverness calls it spot on, why would we want to lose a player like Dolan? Bonkers.
