Was Pickering in the squad yesterday? Feel like sadly he is being pushed out of the club -

2 subs The first 3 (Tavares, Cantwell & Baradji) had already been bought on before we went ahead. He then decided that Gueye & De Neve were good options to hold onto the lead -

Id like a change to this topic, Valerie Ismael, No longer Blackburn Rovers coach. He's cost us more than 4 points at home this season, not one substitution, but three or four at a time. -

And 1 point, possibly all 3 vs QPR. Taking Gudjohnsen off for the hopeless Gueye. Same subs, same outcome. Venky’s Out! -

Still fuming this morning,we are pissing points away in our precarious position. Your decisions are costing us Ismael! We face the Leagues whipping boys Saturday but I have little to no confidence of getting all three points. Crap. -

What has really struck me is how hard the players seem to be working for Ismael, and that from a team that a month ago most would have said is very very poor (Pears, Pratt, Forshaw etc) hes got us playing well. Im so up and down on him. -

Ismael spoilt the party once again, with 3 substitutions. We were well in control 1-0 in front, up to this point. -

As soon as the foul was made and the referee blew, I thought it was a red and I was right in line with it. The Ipswich manager has all but conceded that it was a red and everyone I know who had the benefit of TV, said it was a clear and obvious red card. Morishita was 2/3 yards clear of both defenders, albeit a distance from goal, not really sure how you think there was plenty of time for Davies to cover. -

You simply cannot oversee a game if you've never played it yourself. My opinion of course but I'll need some very strong evidence to convince me otherwise. -

Thought we really put a shift in last night, the few of us who turned up provided as much vocal support as possible and the players responded with a decent performance. It would have been a thoroughly deserved three points and letting it slip again at the death, just 3 days after the same fate at Wrexham, was heartbreaking. As we all know, our football club has shipped many late goals and scored very few and it is a habit that has persisted over a lot of managers and like the failure to come back from behind, it seems to now be baked into a very unwanted DNA. The referee was atrocious and got all the big decisions wrong and on that score, we just never seem to get a break. Saturday’s match is now pivotal, if we can’t win that, I really do fear that could be the last straw for the team’s confidence. -

Sorry chaddy, it wasn’t a red, more than enough time for Davies to cover, one of those you would be fuming if it were a red for us. he got a lot wrong but that’s wasn’t one of them. Plus , it’s an easy deflection of the real issue, we need to see that one out better. One high punt through and we are at sixes and sevens, keep the ball, defend the box, criminal that they have a spare man over , especially after having it done just 4 days earlier -

The lads need to put it behind them now, the history books show 2 draws in the last 2 games which isn’t terrible in theory. It’s followed by the single kindest game you could ask for, no excuses, go and win that one. Swansea and Oxford play each other so a win pulls us away from at least one of them as well

The question is why Ismael continues to bring on De Neve and leave Ribeiro and Pickering sitting on the bench. Both are better defenders - has he provided an explanation? -

In the 4 minutes of injury time- The Ipswich long throw is taken from on the pitch with clear grass between touchline and back of the heel. Ref is stood 30 yards from where we are repeatedly shielding the ball in the corner and gives a goal kick when the ball clearly goes out off a ref sock after Cantwell clipped the ball onto the Ipswich shin. That was par for the entire game. -

Can put a decent first XI on the pitch for this level, wider squad? Dreadful, simple as that and that’s down to this disgraceful regime. -

It kind of is the officials fault for giving a goal kick at the end when it was a corner. That would probably been the end of the match and a win had that not happened. - Today

Fair enough if he is but I read it as he would have kept him on. -
I played up until I was 24 but was involved in an RTA and sustained a fractured femur. During my rehab the physio (Steve Foster who became Rovers physio later) said it would be unlikely that I would play at the same level again. I weighed up my options and to stay involved refereeing was my best option. I went in completely blind with no aspirations or idea about the promotion pathway. I recall my first game at Houghton and alone in the changing room feeling isolated with no team mates around me. Having played was definitely was but he'll and I soon felt comfortable. After various promotions I ended up as a Football League referee in 1995 and stayed until I retired in 2006. Significantly the group I came through with in 1983 were in their mid twenties as I was and had played. To varying degrees we were all successful which gives some credence to my thinking about youngsters who have never played not having a feel for the game.
