  2. I'm amazed about that really, I thought they would trigger him and Vale just to have bodies around for pre season before shipping them both out again. The retained list seems a bit more ruthless than usual, which I am a fan of. I'm glad we are getting no return on him, pointless at this club. I'm not a huge fan of Hedges, but he's a much better option that Markanday.
  3. He’s wrong (I’ll let others judge whether intentionally or otherwise) - I don’t have the figures in front of me but it’s about £210 million ‘loan’ and £90m shares. The shares includes their initial purchase of the club, I imagine the rest of them are simply to comply with FFP rules.
  4. I'm sure they could try and claim that technically they can send funds if they match the guarantee, but that would presumably undermine their legal argument that the guarantee/court case is an impediment to sending money to the club. If we assume they have set aside £20m in liquidity each year to fund the club (as so often alleged by Suhail et al), their argument would be that if half of that goes into the Central Bank bond rather than the club it is an impediment, and for whatever reason they cannot or will not match a guarantee that would require £40m to be set aside just for the club (including the guarantee). The court would probably rightly argue that the guarantee should not be an impediment to a billion dollar corporation who are alleged to have avoided tax. Either way Suhail was still lying when he was talking about "no impediment/restriction" to funding the club as it is demonstrably not the case, and they are arguing in court that there is an impediment. As a further point, rewatching the 3 amigos interview, Suhail mentioned that the £300m is a loan from the owners, not a liquid injection. Does anyone have an explanation why they might be doing this for tax/business purposes?
  5. A schoolmate of mine was a big Sheff Wed fan inspite of living in Rochdale. His dad was quite wealthy and had managed to get him a match worn shirt that had been worn by his hero Tony Kay, the Sheff Wed captain. Then over the Xmas holidays Kay was unexpectedly signed by Everton and when we came back to school my pal was now an Everton fan ! He gave me the Sheff Wed shirt, saying “ You might has well have this, my dad will get me an Everton one this season. “ I wore it for training for years until it wore out. It was a really good shirt with the blue and white stripes sewn in and a red No 6 sewn on the back. I lost touch with my pal for decades. One day I was reading our local paper and I saw he had died. So I attended the funeral. During the eulogy the vicar mentioned what a staunch Man Utd fan my old pal had been !
  6. Exactly this. Has the same feeling for me as Elliott Bennett, who at least has the bonus trivia of being the only Rovers player to have 4 lots of double-letters in his name.
  7. I’ve said to you before, that argument means Jason Lowe should never have played below Championship level. He made his debut in the PL and was picked regularly by 7 different managers.
  8. Nino Tempo And April Stevens - Deep Purple
  9. They’re dancing on the head of a pin. Yes the owners can send money but the far more important factor is they won’t (either because of the guarantee or they don’t want to and the guarantee is a handy excuse).
  10. Gestede talks shite it's just the same soundbites lifted from previous people except he contradicts himself and shows the novice that he is. Plus he repeatedly told everyone the owners are putting money in the owners are funding us despite all available evidence for over a year showing otherwise. I'd suggest nobody knows the budget yet until the V's summer meeting, nothing unusual in that with this lot but this is where major problems manifest. Those at the club 'assume' the budget will be the same and set the stall out for that... then......meeting in the farmhouse and 'no you must cut another 10/20% off it' !
  11. More ammunition for Glenn and the coalition... We had all worked it out by the lack of investment, yearly accounts, and sudden change when the court case started, but really daft for Suhail and Waggott to try and claim "no impediment". They can't even claim a technicality or that it was just the lawyer arguing as it would undermine the legal case they are pursuing, ergo it can only be a lie to the fans.
  12. Deep Purple - Maybe I’m A Leo
  13. So Venky's own lawyer is arguing there is an impediment to funding the club; good work Waggott/Suhail... another lie for the list
  14. Easily avoided though. Simply----- don't try to cheat the tax authorities
  15. Today
  16. I read that as Judge Judy for a second, I thought you had a secret to tell us 😉
  17. The judge has just said "Right you bastards. Sell Blackburn Rovers, sack the imbeciles who run it, apologise to the fans of that club and be damned in hell for the suffering you have caused". If only Carlsberg did Indian courts.
  18. Strich has looked ok in patches, and is still a teenager, so that one I can understand, low cost, low risk. Wood though is 21 before next season kicks off, and had 3 very unimpressive loan spells this season (all at pretty low levels), has always looked like he could nick a goal at U21 level, but seems miles off it in men's football, reminds me of Joe Nuttall in that regard (not in style)
  19. Telling the judge to end his investigation and make a decision, been going on since 2023 etc. ’guarantee is unfair and onerous’ hearing just concluded - didn’t quite catch end bit but I think judge suggested reducing guarantee to 50% and then set a new date to give advocates time to take instructions. Maybe Waggott doesn’t think the guarantee is an impediment but the words and emotion the Venky’s advocate just used make it plain that they do.
  20. Had a look at a Leyton Orient forum. ‘Decent feet, pushed off the ball a bit easy’… not sure he’s found League 1 all that comfortable either.
  21. Case currently being heard - Rovers being discussed: guarantees currently at £25ish million (I think I did the currency conversion correctly) everything the Venkys advocate is saying sounds like there’s an impediment to sending monies… ‘We need to send money…salaries to pay…etc etc’ They want need for guarantee removing.
  22. I'm surprised that Harrison Wood and Zac Stritch have had their extra year triggered particularly Wood. I understand both will be earning a pittance but neither have shown to me that they are anywhere near good enough.t It's another example of the low hanging fruit that Gestede likes to pick.
  23. 2 flaws in that reasoning Sales do not impact the transfer budget - the other (more recent) Gestede interview/podcast Our 3 year projects never last more than 18 months 😉
