  1. Past hour
  2. Getting increasingly worried about this summer. Feels like the club are feeding info that they have ambition (see French CB) that we were never ever signing. Optimism around Batth signing a new contract (not happening) Travis and Tronstad linked away. 7 signings + leavers needed. So currently with Andi Weiman and Batth leaving that's 9 signings needed, that are able to make an immediate impact? This Belgian won't be an immediate enigma. So still require 9 signings of real quality. We are on our way to relegation at this point.
  3. We seem to be looking further afield for players which is fine but you need a proven group of Championship ready players to guide them. You look at our core of best, proven Championship players. Brittain, Travis, Tronstad and Hyam all have a year left and are at risk of sale. Batth and Dolan are off.
  4. Have Derby offer 2 year contract? Wouldn't he already be sign there if that's was the case
  5. Batth is worth 2 years for me. I think he has proven he can play in at least 30 championship games this coming season. 26-27, even if he doesn't play as often i imagine he would be invaluable to have around the club and lads, considering every other bit of experience seems to getting pushed out of the club. Weimann with his injury, I can understand the one year offer. I bet we have lowballed him on wages though.
  6. Why would Derby and a manager as good as Eustace offer him 2 ? This club has a self inflicted no more than a year for over 30's policy and it's just another in a long line of stupid policies. Like letting academy grads leave for nothing because they won't pay them a championship wage despite the number of appearances for instance.
  7. Look at Ismael's comments on the player. Why would we offer them more than 1 year deal given their age? Batth is 35 years old in September
  8. Not sure it's that strange in a meaningless international friendly, all about giving people minutes, maybe they just wanted to give all 3 keepers a bit of game time.
  9. Tbh you’re just guessing here using your anger to form an opinion. Batth is very likely to want 2 years to gurantee/see out his career and for all the badness/madness this club has put us through I do agree with their stance on this given his age and previous injury record
  10. It hasn't worked for the two years prior to last season, so it's fanciful to think it works to any degree next season. ?
  11. Today
  12. Sell him, make £1m profit, restore Pears as No.1, promote the recently new contracted Jack Barrett to No.2. Sorted (in Suhail's world)
  13. Don't disagree, however, it's about how you structure their offer. Clearly, they came on relatively low wages so they can be significantly increased and then supplement that with a sliding scale of appearance money. For example if we get a similar number of games out of Baath this season he is deservedly rewarded. It's not feckin rocket science. However, think it's pretty clear Baath and Weimann are gone as I think Brittain and Travis will be and also probably Tronstad. What an awful feckin mess we are in. Think Sagnan and Nade links is all bullshit. Firstly, if other clubs are in for them it's game over and secondly, we simply will not pay the transfer fees and wages that would be needed. Hello League 1 in 202627.

  15. Plus Jimmy Greaves who wasn’t even in the side!
  16. His agent is just being an idiot like most agents are
  17. Do we read that as he wants out of this shitshow? Flip him for a profit is Suhail's dream, consequences be damned
  18. @Herbie6590 whenscthe next 4000 holes pod matey need some at work listening!
  19. This cracked me up. "We're very happy with your client, Balazs Toth, so much so that he will be our number one next season... anyway, this is how much we want for him." Honestly, this Club...
  20. It's not often I agree with the club on anything but 1 year deals for players of Baath and Weimann's age is something I have no issue with.
  21. “ Running out or road “ somes up the last few years of Southgate’s time in charge. If we’d have given him another 10 years we still wouldn’t have won anything. Looking into the future we haven’t got the players to win things. You need world class players to win trophies at international level and, with the possible exception of Bellingham, looking to the future we haven’t got any. When we won the big one we had 3 players that would have got into a World Team. Banks, Moore, Charlton. With three more in Ball, Hurst and Wilson knocking on the door.
  22. Can imagine Rudy going to all these teams scouting players with an Orange. 5+ is the bench mark 🤣
  23. Yep, Jackson reckons we're basically planning for life without Batth and Weimann now. Talks not ended but seems highly unlikely for both now. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/25231529.blackburn-rovers-contract-latest-impasse-continues/
  24. 1 year contracts are understandable at their age and particularly with Weimann's injury. If they want to leave, they literally can with nothing to stop them - but they've not signed for anyone either as far as we know. Personally, I'd try and tempt Batth with a 1 year contract with a clause for a 2nd year - 30 league starts for example.
