  1. Past hour
  2. For clarity @RevidgeBlue, had commented upon the fantasy pursuit of Kapuadi and then @Nealposted about Poku to QPR. Followed up with post to state that 3 very decent and proven players had gone to Championship clubs for very modest investments.
  3. Yeah, I’ve seen Cowdray, Barrington, Dexter and just about everyone since. Also been on Madras cricket ground 35 years ago - although there was no game on then. Such a lot of greats, such a lot of memories. From all that two cricketers stick out in my mind. Firstly Shane Warne. Two reasons. Firstly what a fabulous bowler and secondly - what a man. I found him so interesting to listen to and would have listened to him all day. He had the lot, he did the lot. Secondly Clive Loyd. Just seeing his 6’5” frame ambling slowly to the crease. He was immense. Never forget that sight. Then obviously his batting and the way he could destroy any bowler. Sometimes his fielding was overlooked. You would think he’d be so slow in the field but he fielded in the covers and was known as supercat. Try taking a quick single to Clive and you were taking a mighty risk. It only took him about three strides to cover the 22 yards. Fabulous players. So lucky to have seen them.
  4. I know the new board members will bring some new ideas, into play, but I think a Trust led campaign to ensure the 150th anniversary is celebrated properly, is likely to attract new membership too. Given what was said about the foreword in the planned book and how it was suggested that if the owners do insist on doing that, it will die a death, I think we need to accept that it will pass off with hardly any proper recognition, if we leave this to the club.
  5. Jay And The Americans - Living Above Your Head
  6. That’s quite optimistic for you. Welcome to the club, Steve!
  7. The transfer thread has already broken a few and we’ve not even said goodbye to June. July will be epic πŸ˜‰
  8. Wagg's crisps and Β£5 million add on when we get promoted.
  9. I'll give it a 5% chance incase Legia crumble and accept a low fee
  10. It was Mercer I thought was talking about the CB. We've not been linked anywhere with Poku have we?
  11. As always, I hope you lose your shirt.
  12. Today
  13. 6) Take your begging bowl around premier league clubs for any lads still to be fixed up for a loan
  14. Ah right ok he’s replied to wrong thread
  15. As I've said many times over the years, it makes it look as though we're doing something. I've also (only half )oked the MO of the recruitment department goes something like this: 1) Lodge a derisory bid/bids for one or more players early in the window which have no chance whatsoever of being accepted. Leak to the press we have several bids for players in. ( It seems now the identities of said non targets are also being leaked) 2) Pick fluff out of your navel for a month or so. 3) After a while leak another mini story saying we still have several active irons in the fire. 4) When we eventually get gazumped by a Club willing to meet the asking price leak a sob story about how we did our best but couldn't compete with the financial might of whichever Club it is. 5) Job done! Go back to picking fluff out of your navel until the next transfer window.
  16. So why the feck are Rovers indulging in this fantasy shite?! What's more, LT publish it. Little wonder Chaddy and his mates may well have wet dreams!
  17. Brum quoted to have offered close to 30k per week
  18. Put a cheeky offer in this morning for the missus' dream house. Offered half the selling price up front with a 50% sell-on for profit over my offer price. Not holding my breath!
  19. Kapuadi was a non starter to begin with miles out of our finances regardless of how the deal is structured
  20. Bet he's on more than Β£10k a week...
  21. Club will already be turning their attention to CB loans I bet.
