Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach
RevidgeBlue replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Exactly...and your point is? The difference between Brady and Wagner and us on the Mitrovic deal if it comes off is that they'll go and find extra investment or sponsorship to pay for or at least offset the cost of the deal. We just sit there going "What can we do?" -

Wagner has invested in the city of Birmingham and other sporting teams in the city Birmingham Phoenix Hundred franchises and have acquired a significant stake in the Birmingham Panthers netball team. Plus building a new stadium for city. -

You are creating scorelines that didnt happen and suggesting that the reaction would have been different had the result been different. I did likewise. Its not a difficult concept to follow. -

We dont create many chances although a part of that is strikers anticipating where the ball will fall. Our whole attack is very poor in the main. A massive area of weakness that we seem likely to think will be solved just by signing 1 winger. I see you have gone from us thinking we do need a striker based on your original opinion, to not in order to base your opinion, back to now needing one having seen how toothless we are. Sadly, seems unlikely. Examples like Mitrovic and Kyogo are obviously never going to be realistic but there is certainly a middle ground between that and how little we spend. Especially on wages hence why none of our players will sign new contracts. -

I'm not really angry with him, but with the whole sorry mess at Ewood that has gone on for so long, since well before I retired and appears likely to still be going on when I'm long gone. So many fans lost, so many who will likely never return. -

Incidentally, on the corner. ..from my position, it looked like VI definitely urged Tavares to take the corner instead of Ribeiro. (not that it makes a huge difference -plenty of defending needed after that.) -

Yet in terms of actual wealth Venky's could probably put Brady and Wagner in their back pocket. -

We’d need to be signing a new team of 11 players to spend that much. £3 million a year. -

The Government can't get involved in the running of football. As far as the FA, EFL and the football authorities Venkys are running the club properly, wages are paid on time, bills paid on time, Selling players to fund the club. -

Or maybe that particular people actually knows alot more of what is going on behind the scenes then any of us actually know. But you want and others to banned Ismael from telling the supporters what is actually going on by sugar coating the truth or not answering questions? which one do you want? -

‘I’d finished the football season feeling ok. I’d be about 30. Just before we started training again one of the guys at work decided to form a rugby league team. So I turned up just for the training. I’d not played rugby since school. I went on the wing because I was quick ( or so I thought ) . We’d been played about 10 minutes when my centre made a break, drew the cover, and gave me the ball. I thought - ” I’ll just burn this lot off now , a straight run to the try line” . Bloody hell, it felt like I was running in treacle, my legs started burning, the covering players caught me before I’d gone 25 to 30 yards ! That yard of pace I though I had and I relied on to get me out of trouble was gone forever. -

So where was that support when we protested all those years ago? I remember marching, and I remember others doing a lot, lot more. Most people weren't interested then. They're no more interested now. We are and have been for many years, a basket case of a club. The number of well known media people who basically told us to shut up because Venkys pay our bills was amazing. And still it goes on. A manager nobody hoped for, a captain who wants away, an inability to sign a decent striker so that we actually look like scoring, players leaving for decent sums but no adequate replacements, a fanbase so disenchanted they don't trust anyone, and absentee owners who haven't been seen in over a decade. Don't try to cheer us up. We know what's wrong and also know there doesn't seem to be any way of getting out of the parlour and completely undeserved mess we find ourselves in.
