  1. Past hour
  2. I like the way you've divided "midfield" up into FIVE different segments to try and justify the number of midfielders. Lol. We agree on the pressing need for a new RAM as you call it (or RW as I would call it) but where are the 2 senior alternatives for Ohashi and Gueye? IF we got all those 3 (currently we have none) then we'd be looking a lot better placed to tackle the season.
  3. ‘Nobody knew he’d be a good player when he was at youth level’… made his first start for the first team at 18, played for England under 19s a month later.
  4. I'm not sure if I'm joking or being serious but I think Shearer could easily get in our team
  5. Switch all focus to finding new owners, don’t even talk to the current backroom / owners. What’s the point
  6. Those bills are covered week in week out before unseen transfer windfalls.
  7. Be some 150th anniversary waffle no doubt. It's the only thing anyone at the club knows how to do to celebrate things, wheel quick videos out from past players saying what a wonderful club we are etc.
  8. This one sentence sums these fools up. SS- Stated that no one knew Wharton would be a good player at youth level whilst AO Stated no one pays more for a championship player,
  9. How can we expect future generations to throw their support behind a football club that will never be promoted back to the Premier League, will be happy to stay in the Championship forever, will always sell its best players for what they can get, never reinvest transfer fees into buying new players and will rarely conduct new contract terms at a propitious time thus losing good players for nothing and will never sell the Club (apparently) Some moan about small crowds, its a miracle we get as many as we do in these circumstances. They'e going to get smaller I think.
  10. Correct. I've been saying for a while that we are no longer a football Club (where the idea is to win football matches) but a place where certain people (mainly management and agents) go to earn (a lot of) money. Edit: Ironically the only way to become truly "sustainable" is to invest a bit, try to win a few football matches and get into the Premier League.
  11. Why, what do you think has changed since Waggott left? The answer appears to be, absolutely nothing save that Suhail isn't as skilled at lying/covering his arse as Waggott was.
  12. Can't pretend I'm happy with the amount of changes we've made, we're a completely new side and I'm uncomfortable. Yet, the one position I think we're still crying out for is an out and out specialist time served card carrying striker. We'll never see the likes of Shearer ever again but at least something to get the pulse racing a little bit. Please, no more centre backs, full backs, mids, wings or any other ruddy position just spend a nice fat big fee on a marquee hit man to keep me sane.
  13. It's gone to, in no particular order: HMRC Staff wages Electric company Water company etc The owners aren't doing a Blackpool and syphoning money from the club, there's none to syphon. That's not a defence of the owners, if anything it's saying they can't even do that right!
  14. Think we could have some fun with these, interested to hear others ill kick off. He's not scared of snakes, he's not scared of snaaaakes, Lewis Miller, he's not scared of snakes! 🤣 (Waltzing matilda 🎶) Waltzing Lew Miller, Waltzing Lew Miller Waltzing Lew Miller, our man at the back. He came from down under and he found his way to Lancashire, Waltzing Lew Miller the man at the back!
  15. Not seen that but they must be as detached from reality as whoever it was who suggested Luke Shaw as a a potential left back signing a couple of years ago because he wasn't in the Man Utd team, Wage demands and competition for his signature be damned 😉
  16. Thanks Glen. That money has gone somewhere.
  17. Survival is the future for Rovers...'just doing enough',love the Venkys. Enjoy the rest of your Summer folks
  18. Why on earth is one of those Rovers twitter / X accounts banging on about Mahrez as a potential signing!? 🤣😂 It's giving Netflix Sunderland documentary
  19. That’s a cop out. We’ve just sold a number of players for quite a few millions of pounds (as GM said to them). That cash wasn’t anticipated. IMO it hasn’t gone back into the club and it won’t be going back into the club. It can only have gone to one other place.
  20. at normal clubs at least Even then,. there is "hidden resale value" in the senior players giving on the field advice to younger ones
  21. You know Carl it's the first day of the season tomorrow and tens of thousands of supporters will go to games full of optimism and excitement. For Rovers fans seeing the owners representative coming out with that really takes the wind out of our sails knowing that there is no ambition, no desire to get promoted or be successful. I don't know for sure but I would think the rattled snake is deceitful when it comes to speaking to the owners and what he tells them. It really is in his own personal interests for them not to know what a charade he is overseeing. Self preservation of the highest order.
  22. Quite possibly , we got relegated soon after his departure and never reappeared until 1975. Ironically 50 years ago , for the 100 years of the club.. Venkys Out !
  23. It’s clear for all to see, there is no point at all in Blackburn Rovers just now. The only way forward now is to somehow get rid.
  24. Is it a Ken Knighton moment ? Having said that Knighton was twice the player Travis is. He was as hard as nails but didn’t go around beating his chest about it.
