  1. Past hour
  2. The fact that there isn't even a contract offer on the table for Trav, Tronstad or Hyam tells you everything you need to know about the clubs intentions. More than likely hoping to offload all 3 and replace with a cheaper alternative from some relegated Belgium 2nd division team
  3. The situation with Travis just like one or two others is engineered a year or 18 months in advance by the club so they don't have to commit to bigger longer contracts, bonuses and signing fees it's rather obvious now. Yes the players and their agents play a part but i'd suggest that is often once they realise nothing or nothing worthwhile is coming from Rovers. Once the wheels are put into motion well in advance the players are on their way it's just a matter of when not if and it's mostly by design. Ewood bean counters care not a jot to lose good players it's all about finding cheaper replacements and you could argue in this case that we will get a decent fee but we know were that will go. Venkys have long since blown every opportunity to mould the Brentford model instead having a benefactor we need their money just to survive to now a sell to survive model, we need sales money just to survive and continue the managed decline a bit longer. A player on a better contract commands a better fee, gets a better signing on fee from that as well but if it was signed 12 months ago it might have cost the club an extra 5k a week. They don't want that, can't be arsed with it so just leave things to chance till it's too late then shrug the shoulders. 'He wanted to go' 'We did all we could' and the age old chestnut 'But we offered to make him the highest player' - a month before he knew he'd get more or the same elsewhere.
  4. I'll start worrying if England begin to lose qualifying games. Until then it's the old clichΓ© of 3 points, job done, on to the next game. I'm not defending a moribund performance by England yet playing Andorra in no way resembles preparation for France or Spain. Andorra know what they can and can't do. They have only conceded 5 goals in 3 games. Terrible teams are able to better frustrate superior opposition in today's game due to them receiving more money witch leads to better coaching and organisation. Other results over the weekend had Bosnia beating San Marino 1-0 and Wales beating Lichtenstein 3-0, at home. England fans spent years and years deriding Southgate for his supposed lack of tactical acumen. Nobody is doubting Tuchel's talent (yet) so let's hope that in the next 12 months he gets England qualified easily and is able to form the players available to him into a unit capable of winning the World Cup.
  5. When you read a LT sub headline of "Wrexham flex financial muscles", when they are coming after our captain. Of all our downfalls, I never ever thought getting strong armed by Wrexham would be one of them. I think Trav was excellent last season, and would be very good at pretty much any team in the league. He would also highly likely be seen as a steal by clubs with more than our 50p budget.
  6. I would be very surprised if we hold onto him, as it is looking increasingly likely that the latest request for funds, is not happening. As, we saw with the court hearing, the owners were attempting to have the need for a bond removed, but it was only reduce to 50%. I have a feeling they are worried that the bond will be lost, as well as the seized properties and assuming that is the way they are thinking, then the only way to keep us afloat is to sell.
  7. The way the Rovers are being run, we are a million miles from a professional football club.
  8. Today
  9. Hmm started just over 60% of games in a relegation season in Belgium. Could go 5 at the back with pickering and Carter as overlapping Centre backs (joke) Need a creative CM/goalscoring winger if 5 at the back, any current formation looks toothless. A joke if we sell Travis to accommodate this formation I'm sure we'll see a few pish signings like this
  10. They would be better off coming out and admitting that talks haven't started because they don't want them to. Trav, Tronstad, Hyam and Brittain are all the wrong profile for this club. Experienced, "old", high wages, and proven at this level. They want that lot out, to be replaced with 20-24 year old French, Belgian, Dutch players who will be on at the most half of that lot's wage. Then they will all be sat around scratching there heads as to why when we plunge into a relegation fight.
  11. No, their starting keeper Dibusz stayed on. Sweden won 2-0.
  12. LT reporting the Travis links now, I worry that is the first step by the club before we sell him
  13. I'd say whatever the League is below Conference level, that's about his standard.
  14. Says in the Lancashire Telegraph that there is still no contract offer on the table for Travis. With mention of his wedding! Absolutely no excuse to get into these situations, theres always an excuse. Mid way through the season, dont know what division we will be in, focusing on signing players, a bloody wedding. Tying down key players long term is as important as anything.
  15. I am (within reason) one of his biggest critics. But he obviously should be within a million miles of a professional football club. Probably at League 1 level.
  16. One probably won't be here and the other shouldn't be within a million miles of a professional football Club.
  17. Hence "moving back" over. You are correct that the vast majority of his games for us, and other clubs have been on the right wing.
  18. Not sure why you think that unless you thought I meant jumping up and down with glee as opposed to jumping up and down in exasperation. I've seen and heard lots of OTT criticism on social media and the radio. A lot of people are also opposed to his appointment simply on the basis he isn't English. I just want the best man for the job. Short of hiring Pepp or Klopp I think we've done that although I'll concede he's started in rather strange fashion.
  19. Dolan to leave so Hedges to start. Money in (maybe) and none spent. Bingo! The Venky's model
  20. I thought Hedges was a right winger? He only moved to the left last season/under Eustace. He's never been fast enough to go outside his man and use left foot, and all his best games have come playing on the right and running diagonal lines. Don't want him to start, but it's not a surprise...
  21. I think Gestede said we want a right winger "to replace Cozier Duberry." Probably another untested kid on loan I suspect.
  22. Thank God Hedges is still a nailed on starter for us, he's such a quality player(!)
  23. I thought he was quite good in that if you were playing one of the "big 4" of the time he would give a much more even handed display than the other referees would and wouldn't just give them every decision. RIP.
  24. That's good news, I can hardly wait to see Hedges back flip, when he scores.
