LWX Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 I've noticed ffan that you've listed Robinson as a player that could do a job for us..........
EwoodGlory Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 I've noticed ffan that you've listed Robinson as a player that could do a job for us If he's playing for the opposition
Hypo-Luxa Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 If he's playing for the opposition That scared me when Cerny's name showed up on the team sheet in place of Robinson's last weekend. I thought Spurs had a chance at that point!
bluebruce Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 spurs have good players, but with some, i get the feeling they love london more, then being a footballer..ie jermaine jenas-obviously he is talented, but at spurs doesnt show it, a move out of london would probably sort his career out.. Don't really rate Jenas. Feel he's overrated. I'd take him on the cheap.
Fife Rover Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 PM'd lol Ah but has there been an application?
bluebruce Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Why? Haven't we got enough reserves? Not in centre mid at the moment.
philipl Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Might it just be the case that all these brilliant Spurs players are in fact OK journeyman who happened to catch the eye of Comedy Commolli and Spuds went and bid gazillions for making us all think "wow, he must be good- we are getting left behind". We know that Comedy's spending of £40m this summer bought a farce and Commedy has overseen a previous spending splurge as well. I think the Seville guy might just be having nightmares as he assesses what he is seeing on the training ground. Malbranque (hot and cold that one), Keane and Berbatov apart are these Spuds players Really that good. Forget the big reputations and the unfortunate scorelines, we have consistently played them off the park in recent seasons. Frankly I don't think we either would need or want any of them. And we certainly don't need their £55K a week standard wages quite a few of them are on.

And we certainly don't need their £55K a week standard wages quite a few of them are on. Don't agree completely, though to an extent. There's also Lennon (needs to learn to cross though) and King. You can forget the unfortunate scorelines, but let's not forget they've finished above us two seasons in a row. Not by much, but that means we are also largely a team of ok journeymen, and I don't agree with that. I wouldn't want to pay the likes of Jenas or Huddlestone 55k a week either, but I'd have them at the club, under the right financial conditions. Which Spurs and the players would never agree to, mind.
Hannah Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Mifsud is a quality player in the championship, not sure he would make the step up though. He is the only thing stopping Cov being in a relegation battle as it is. I went to the Coventry vs West Ham game last night and I have to say that it was a fantastic game with some superb passing football from Coventry. Rob Styles was ###### as ever! With crazy decisions with no biased either way just blatently wrong! I personally would go and watch them again if they play like that week in week out. Jay Tapp looked like a good player. Funny to see David McNamee playing - wasnt he one of ours Lucas Neill made loads of friends yesterday and was very nearly sent off! He was looking very attractive yesterday but not as fit as he was when he was at Rovers! Too many jellied eels maybe???
herbergeehh Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 You'll get a drink posted to you, so quit your moaning! Mifsud is a quality player in the championship, not sure he would make the step up though. He is the only thing stopping Cov being in a relegation battle as it is. Mifsud is a poor man's Bellamy, not something we should look at.
herbergeehh Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Nicko, do you think we'll be able to bring in a new midfielder on loan, now with Mokoena and possibly Bentley injured?
philipl Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Malta v Norway coming up. We'll see who is a poor man's Bellamy!
herbergeehh Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 True. He's played in the Norwegian long enough to warrant that label though, pacey and skillful when on form, but lacks too much elsewhere.
ffan Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Ah but has there been an application? Er yes...ffan abit entirely confused.
neophox Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Well I see that Franny Jeffers is just causing Sheffield W problem as he's out for four months...has to be Hughes worst signing, but he was on a free and we managed to get £600.000 and thats fair enough.
neophox Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 I would love to see Tom Huddlestone at Rovers in january, a bright prospect.

Funny to see David McNamee playing - wasnt he one of ours That's what all my mates said after the game and my villa mates after their game a week or 2 ago. Jay Tabb is not a bad player but not good enough to do it at premiership level. McNamee was our lad but he's obviously gone the long way around to the championship. Mifsud is a poor man's Bellamy, not something we should look at. I wouldn't even say he was that good. More a poor man's Harewood! I don't think any of the established prem clubs would look at him but he could certainly help a club go up to the premiership.
nicko Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Nicko, do you think we'll be able to bring in a new midfielder on loan, now with Mokoena and possibly Bentley injured? You can't take anyone before January...unless they are out of work. It's bad timing, but it shows what can happen. Might have to rejig, but that was some result tonight. Saw Bolton v Man City - the Eriksson bubble will burst soon. They have so little up front. Shocking penalty decision. Micah Richards got a bad injury too.

nicko Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Disagree they are going to spend big and well in January, they will survive till then. Just looked at their fixtures. Willing to bet Rovers are ahead of them by the start of January. Interesting to see how much Sven has to spend. May be very revealing.

May be very revealing. From what I've read he'll get top dollar again with Peter Crouch and maybe Michael Owen coming in. Have a £50 bet on Rovers getting Champions League this term and this bet was made in August.
HairwayToSteven Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 News on Coventry or old news refurbished?
RevidgeBlue Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 I would love to see Tom Huddlestone at Rovers in january, a bright prospect. A Spurs fan came on the radio the other week moaning after one of their defeats and said that the 22 On Huddlestone's back must refer to his weight in stone!
