He could get in the team at Liverpool for 3/5 games, but he wouldn't make the side at Chelsea.

Im not sure about that. As it is he wouldn't get in but if they moved on SWP then he would. From their point of view in the longer term Bentley looks like he will be the better player.

I am sure Bentley would realise he would get more playing time at Rovers and it may be good for keeping him in form realistically we cannot offer the sort of wages that those teams (or at least Chelsea. Liverpool are quite tight for a big club) do. As for England chances- it seems that being a regular for a top half team is about as good as being on the bench for a top four team, shamefully. Look at Hargreaves or Carrick versus Barry, SWP vesus Bentley, Bridge versus Shorey. Bentley won't be discouraged by that.

I can't think of anyone whose England career has been damaged by sitting on the bench for a big four club- for players like Alan Smith it actually improved his chances.

One thing for certain if Bentley moved to either Liverpool or Chelsea, he could kiss goodbye to his proposed England slot simply as he wouldnt get enough games under his belt to get noticed.

I see him at ewood for at least another 2 seasons as he is a guaranteed first 11 starter here and he is our playmaker around whom the team is being built, why would he leave us for elsewhere and become another arsenal like statistic ?

Bentley seems very happy and has even commented on how happy he is and how he wouldnt want to change that. No chance of top 4 clubs for him yet! He had to endure the horrible time at Arsenal so that works in our favour.

Redknapp is trying to sign a striker or two on loan.

But oddly he is selling Matty Taylor at a time when he is short of bodies. He is talking to Bolton, but I think Sunderland have also come in.

Heard Rovers are looking at Heinz Muller... the goalkeeper at Barnsley (apparently has a get-out-clause)

He does have a £1 million clause, but that seems a lot for a second choice keeper - especially when money may be a little tight.

We're a bit tight on midfielders too. Especially with Savage and Mokoena wanting out. Why would we need more goalkeepers when Friedel hasn't missed a match for god-knows-how-long and Brown looks pretty decent as well.

Any links to CM's. Only really Davids has popped up so far. I would have thought that Matty Taylor could be an option at the right price.

Also, I don't see what all the fuss is about...

When Hull City played Barnsley on Sky, Frazier Campbell made him look silly (although to be fair, his defence was crap!)

Craziest rumour of the window yet;

Just seen online that aparently, Hughes wants Totti! and Totti wants a move to the Prem... in the same rumour, it says Hughes looked at him last year...

Did he look at him Nicko?

NEVER going to happen is it... :lol:

(though you never can tell with Hughes... He's pulled Benni, Bellamy & Santa Cruz out of the bag in recent times...)

I will be hugely disappointed if we do not at least enquire about Angulo and Albelda - especially Albelda. He's exactly what we need in midfield, can tackle, pass and dribble, with loads of experience.

Angulo is also a quality winger with decent pace and an excellent attitude. Go on, Sparky, give it a go!

according to the telegraph it says savage prefers a move to derby-maybe we could do something involving giles barnes in a deal..

Strange that he would prefer a team that is heading straight for the Championship. As for Barnes, anyone seen him play this season, if so whats the verdict?

I suspect the preference has more to do with location than anything else.

My brother has seen Barnes play and reckons he's overrated - too unwilling to work and poor awareness of his teammates. Not sure myself.

Now that is a silly rumour! So are we signing Buffon or Casillas as a replacement for Friedel then as well or? Maybe Pirlo in midfield? :rolleyes:
