brian_gallagher85 Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Maybe Hughes has already signed him though
LeChuck Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 i think if we got another winger say Sas then Bentley would play upfront just off Roque. Sas is a left winger or a striker. Any winger arriving would surely be for the left side, we should just leave Bentley where he is.
den Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Can we keep the BFS discussions to the specific thread please? Although that wont be easy with nicko's inevitable input.
thenodrog Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Wonder who would be mad enough to go there? I'd bet Ashton would like a swap deal with us. Hughes for Sam and a big fat cheque.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Think it will be McClaren or Shearer. I think Bentley isn't totally irreplaceable, Emerton/Reid/Dunn could do a job there for a few games if needed. Brad, however, is irreplaceable. I don't think Brown is confident or skilled enough to make the step up. If it is Roque it will be bad, but with Benni getting some sort of form back it isn't the end of the world.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 If it's Brad then i'll be totally gutted but I still have every confidence in Encks. Despite the fact he hasn't played in about 10,000 years, I still believe he's a good goalkeeper who is reliable despite everyone remembering that dodgy goal in the Birmingham derby.
Nelsta Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Is the shock team news that we wont have a manager?
Dunnfc Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 If its Brad we got big Jase his twin. Personally i think its Reid or Bentley.
nicko Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 When your ready Nicko Next toon boss odds Seems like someone remembered the short list of three I mentioned a couple of months ago...
nicko Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Newcastle is some scene. Allardyce had agreed to buy Diarra - that's who wanted him and was willing to pay the cash. But Mike Ashley would not go through with it. It all kicked off about 5 when Allardyce asked if he could complete the deal. Arsenal had agreed to sell and pulled him out of the game. So, from Rovers point of view, Diarra is still available...if they want.
savage90 Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Would loosing Big Brad be big enough to make Bolton change there tactics so much, that Nicko wouldnt want to say?
tony gale's mic Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Would loosing Big Brad be big enough to make Bolton change there tactics so much, that Nicko wouldnt want to say? maybe they'd try diving in the box for penalties more knowing that brad wouldnt be around to save them?

EwoodGlory Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 So, from Rovers point of view, Diarra is still available...if they want. Loan bid NOW!
Eddie Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Real bid now. For a player of his age and quality that fee is reasonable. As people have already pointed out, we would be virtually certain to be able to fetch a similar one later on, if not more if he does well. Obviously we don't know what his wage demands are or if he'd come to us (although if he'd go to Newcastle then surely he'd be at least a bit interested), but the opportunity to sign a player like that at a club like ours doesn't come around too often. It would get us more attention in France too.
John Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Nicko - as far as you know, is there any interest in Diarra from us? (I presume not or we would know by now!). Would be a top quality signing in midfield, and just what we need. Sadly, as someone said to me tonight, he would never come to Blackburn.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 5.5 million is a steal, we need to jump in before anyone else has the chance to. Sadly, it just isn't going to happen. Also, who is Sas? Are we re-signing Sutton and Shearer? PS: Any chance we could raid Newcastle for Emre (Tugay could persuade him) or anyone else?
artemorethanlabore Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 How come everyone rate Diarra so highly? Haven't seen him play, so it's more a matter of being uninformed than questioning the valuation.
Lathund Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 maybe they'd try diving in the box for penalties more knowing that brad wouldnt be around to save them? Remember what Jason Brown did the only time he's come in for Brad? Yep that's right, save a penalty. So they'd need another strategy, as with a 100% penalty save record for Rovers it's obvious that Brown > Friedel
