Lee Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 And they'll be very clued up, I've just emailed their commentator pen-pics about our Reserve players
rog of the rovers Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 I'm off to the Haliwell Jones later for the game, if anyone is watching and sees some Rovers fans screaming REIDY REIDY thats probably me and my friends!!

lockers Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 I thought the Liverpool channel was free anyway? I only got Setanta the day of the Calzaghe fight, but I was able to see Liverpool TV before that!
Mike Graham Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 the TV coverage will half the attendance to about 300
roverthemoon Posted November 13, 2007 Author Posted November 13, 2007 Just thought I'd bring this to the top for those that have not seen it. Channel 448 for those that joined Setanta through Sky.
Exiled_Rover Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 We're playing three fullbacks at the back. Oh and it's on Channel 544 for those with Virgin Media.
cn174 Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 We're playing three fullbacks at the back. And many left footed players - Ollson, Taylor, Treacy, Peter and Berner that I know off. It's like Souness picking the team again
Exiled_Rover Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Treacy stands out straight away. Looks very good. For those that are in the know, where's this Tony Kane character - I thought he was a right/centre back for the reserves? (unless he's away on international duty perhaps?)
Exiled_Rover Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Reid has gone off with an injury Not a shock. It's David Thompson all over again. Sergio Peter is a dick - straight red for kicking a player on the floor. Interestingly this commentary is exactly like listening to Sky cover one of the big four (of a lesser quality, obviously). Shocking when you consider this is Liverpool TV, not a major, supposedly impartial, media corporation.
cn174 Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Sergio sent off for kicking out at Leto. Idiot!
sussexrover Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Stupid from Peter. I just commented that this commentary seems less biased than what we are subjected to on Match of the Day these days.
Exiled_Rover Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 The guy in the white shirt in the studio for the half time 'analysis' is one of my lecturers.
den Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Reid has gone off with an injury Twinge on his hamstring. Taken off precautionary - apparently.
philipl Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 It's a rugby pitch isn't it? Stupid to take any risks with Reidy. Maybe I have missed positive comments but I cannot remember anyone having anything positive to say about Sergio Peter as a person- the guy just seems to be a 5 star prat. Anyway we can all quietly smirk for three games whilst rover6 continues his campaign to get him into the first XI. The downside of course is that MGP has no pressure to get his corners above knee high and free kicks below row Z for a while longer.
cn174 Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Finished 0-0. Not a bad result considering we played most of the game with 10 men. We were quite content to sit back and defend, which we did well, then finally had a little bit of attacking in injury time.
Exiled_Rover Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Yeah, there's nobody pushing for a first team place in the squad anytime soon. Very low quality game.

Considering Samba is on course to being the greatest player since Pele, i'd say we play him left midfield. That would solve that problem and give MGP a kick up the bummy!

tonygreenbank Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 I did watch the game tonight on Liverpool TV but I have to wonder about the role of Ritgers. I wonder why he has been bought. He looked quite good in parts but is he ready for the first team? On tonights evidence he is a million miles away atmo. He played with babel in the Dutch U21`s; cost a substantial amount of money but he is not making much progress to me. I thought he might be played as a midfielder as we are short of a bit of speed. Peter was very foolish getting sent off. Was impressed with Olsson and Berner. Did well to draw 0-0 but nothing in our reserves to get too excited.
