cn_barlow Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Shearer will be able to attract players to the club yes, because he is a well known person in football. I am not saying just give him the job, he will need an experience guy a long side him for it to work. He has never once said he does not like Blackburn, so with that statement i think you are way of the mark Sorry, i just dont want him back and i dont think it would be a good move. Who would be the experience? surely it would be better to have shearer as number 2

modes98 Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 so he can't raid Rovers for players for a set length of time? The board/manager has final say, i don't think putting a clause in will help with player moral.
Hasta Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Is that the same Ancelotti who most definetly wasn't a contender for the post according to you Nicko To be fair if you had been backing and laying on Betfair according to Nicko's advice you'd be quids in on this Chelsea market. As long as it's not Rijkaard I'm still happy. Might back Ancelotti now though.
nicko Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 What if Sparky does'nt get the Chelsea job? Does that mean he is certain to go to City or is there a chance he might stay? I don't see how he can come back to Rovers. If he speaks to Chelsea, Man City will just have to be patient and wait for the answer. It's a dangerous game, but - as mentioned before - some prizes are worth chasing. Just make it quick please.

nicko Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Nicko, sorry to ask again, but can the JW and the board (is it something that is done) put a clause in Hughes's move away so he can't raid Rovers for players for a set length of time? Cheers I don't think you could put that clause into any agreement. How would the players feel apart from anything else? You can't stop them going to Chelsea if he gets the job and comes back in for them. If he goes to Chelsea you get paid up front, if he goes to Man City you get HP terms.

I think Hughes is playing this just like he played football: aggressively and going for the spectacular winner. He's trampling all over City to create the chance to go for the big one. I don't think for a second he is contemplating what if it doesn't come off.
bob fleming Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Roy Evans in the Infirmary! Is he not so good or is he nicking all the copper piping again? You'd think he'd have learnt after what happened at Liverpool. Unconfirmed reports of BIG Sam, Sven, AND Alan Irvine going into the Golden Cup. Don't go up there though - there's no room.
nicko Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Where next for Sven? Rovers should offer him the job...and then change their mind. Karma.
gbax Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Mexico Poor Dunn! If BFS gets the job he'll drop Dunn straight away for his last minute U-turn!
EwoodGlory Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Is there a market on whether Ronaldo stays or goes? Spill the beans
Kai Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Just to stir things up a bit more... Has anyone thought that Abramovic might just be nuts enough to go for Ancelotti just for his mate Shevchenko? Stranger things have happened.

This is all getting too much.
vintageadidas Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 If Hughes goes to Chelsea, i will be happy for him as we knew he was destined for bigger things than us as he is a great manager. I would wish him luck and clap when he returned to Ewood. Man City - i would not be happy! Chelsea - he comes back and takes RSC and Bentley. However, he knows we need money and as a good will gesture to JW, the club and the fans he offers £45m for the pair ( know, i am dreaming). Anyways, interesting next few days!

It would be amusing if he didn't get either as surely the contents of his office have already been deposited outside the gates of Brockhall.
nicko Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Spill the beans Just wondering what the prices were...cough, splutter.
