hawkiiz Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Not half as much as City need to I must say that looking at this lot play tonight I can't for the life of me see who they are going to be able to flog to pay the lecky bill for this month that game proves the point that sparky is no good against "lesser" teams. he just have no idea how to get the team going against that sort of opposition. they show no confidence.

Doaksie Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Nicko, you mentioned you think we need 3/4 new signings before August 31st. How many do you think we will actually purchase?
blue and whites Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 i believe you nicko! hoping for some goodies here:) your news are almost correct every time, so you are the main reason i'm reading all these pages.

nicko Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Nicko, you mentioned you think we need 3/4 new signings before August 31st. How many do you think we will actually purchase? Three or four...funnily enough. Midfield or two, possibly a right winger and surprisingly a goalkeeper for the ressies. Unless a couple more leave...but let's not go there. Can anyone confirm that the team picture was taken on Wednesday? Would love to know if Robbie Fowler was in it? Has it been used anywhere? Can't find it myself. It might answer the 'long term target' question.
bats Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 The team photo happened on wednesday, fowler was at the training ground but not sure if he was in the picture!
andyroversmad Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 I will be disappointed if fowler is the long term target.
Doaksie Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Cheers Nicko. Anticipating some good news at 11. and surprisingly a goalkeeper for the ressies. Not looking so good for Jason Brown then. Had a chance, doesn't look to have taken it.
briansol Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 i watched his every move. he was class. one or two bad passes and a couple weird ones. none of them caused trouble. and he DID save stabæk from a few goals when he cut off good passes. and he did dominate the midfield. I followed him closely too, and thought he was decent. I think your fascination with Annan has clouded your judgement or you´re just easily impressed. Strange how you can claim he saved them from goals with a couple of interceptions far from the box, while you at the same time disregard the awful passes straight in front of their box, that luckily didn´t come to nothing. I was more impressed by his passing play than his defensive skills. Maybe there is no big point in discussing him if our interest in him has cooled.

Solberto Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 I think Annan did okey today against Rennes, but he wasnt so much involved. Doh, he managed his task on the pitch well. Annan got a great eye for where to pass the ball, with a nice touch.
budha Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 The team photo happened on wednesday, fowler was at the training ground but not sure if he was in the picture! Meanwhile, Robbie Fowler looks like being in the Premier League frame at Blackburn after the 33-year-old former Liverpool and England striker joined in for the official Rovers team photograph this week. http://www.mailonsunday.co.uk/sport/footba...d.html?ITO=1490 Atleast Mail says he was in it.
brian_gallagher85 Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 I wonder if Roque is still being considered now
brfc_jonesy Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha have that mark hughes
budha Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Not that this 100% belongs to this topic, but as I can't seem to write to transfer links -topic anymore.. West Ham, Manchester City, Fulham, Blackburn and Everton are monitoring Nigerian teenager Dele Adeleye. Five top-flight clubs circling with an eye on Super Eagle Dele For a second I was scared we were after (Big-)Dele Adebola. Anything more on this, anyone?
nicko Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Here is the news. ROQUE - Manchester City's bid was £8 million - not £12 million. How have they got this money? That I will have to keep back. But you can probably work it out. However the offer is so low that it is almost insulting. There is no way Rovers would accept that. Why offer it? Make your own minds up. FOWLER - Still love to know if he was in the picture. ANNAN - Chief scout Barry Whitbread was at the game. We shall see. ANDREWS - My source keeps telling me it's just down to prices. TARGETS - Still actively looking, sounds like nothing is decided on the possible right winger and the one or two midfielders. Can't see anything done by Saturday in those departments. But tomorrow is another day. Not that this 100% belongs to this topic, but as I can't seem to write to transfer links -topic anymore.. Five top-flight clubs circling with an eye on Super Eagle Dele For a second I was scared we were after (Big-)Dele Adebola. Anything more on this, anyone? Golden rule...when you see more than three clubs linked with one player in a story then you treat with caution.
Lathund Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Not looking so good for Jason Brown then. Had a chance, doesn't look to have taken it. Don't think it means anything for Jason. Nielsen is out on loan, and it's possible Fielding will go out too. That would leave us with only Robinson, Brown and then behind them a couple of kids. We'd want three senior keepers, even if the third stringer doesn't have to be spectacular by any means.
blue and whites Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 nicko: can you tell us something about the un-named player we are reportedly closing in on?
imy9 Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Cheers Nicko, I am glad the club are taking their time with the right sided player, we still have two weeks and a few games before we need to sign anyone! By all accounts Annan had a mixed game wo we shall have to see whether a bid is made or not
Mozzer Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 nicko, any early team news for saturday?? sometimes in training they go over formations(i think lol)-have you heard anything?? did you say there was a little match yesterday or today-how did that go..
modes98 Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Not looking so good for Jason Brown then. Had a chance, doesn't look to have taken it. He was very good in portugal and hasn't put many feet or hands wrong since joining imo.
Bobby G Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 8 million? Disgraceful. Spit it back at them. Makes me wonder if Rovers would have reacted this strongly had the bid been more "respectable"...
alexanders Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 I bet £50 that Annan is in our squad 1st of September. Any takers?
Majiball Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Golden rule...when you see more than three clubs linked with one player in a story then you treat with caution. Just to ask why?? I'm curious
