CrazyIvan Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Yes, Speroni is an Argentinain goalkeeper...and Avram Grant will be Portsmouth's next manager... I thought Avram Grant was Portsmouth's current manager... Is there something we don't know?
nicko Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Surely you mean West Ham Nicko?? Yes...long day... Sam was in London though friday, was he not. He was working on a transfer...for Rovers. Why is it everyone believes the worst thing possible is going to happen? Orson Welles would have had a hoot round here.

roversmum Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Why is it everyone believes the worst thing possible is going to happen? We are Blackburn Rovers fans, it's what we do ...

ada2020 Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Because we've had enough things go wrong for us to believe it happens more often than not to us. Too true, I hope Nicko is right about this one.
nicko Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 We are Blackburn Rovers fans, it's what we do ... And very well too...
braddock Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 if he went it wouldn't be the end of the world it would certainly be interesting i prefer him to stop for another season though
Neil Weaver Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Orson Welles would have had a hoot round here. Whilst you may well have known him better than me maybe HG (as in War of the Worlds)? Yours in pedantry.
47er Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 if he went it wouldn't be the end of the world it would certainly be interesting i prefer him to stop for another season though If he went it could be the end of the world depending on whom we appointed. Anyone actually want to take that risk?
braddock Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 If he went it could be the end of the world depending on whom we appointed. Anyone actually want to take that risk? if we got relegated to the bottom division it wouldn't be the end of the world it'd just be awful i've been a season ticket holder for 17 years but these past couple of seasons i've seen so many games i can't even remember. they've all just paled into one. having sam appointed is in the best interest of the club and he has won me around to an extent. therefore it would be silly to sack him. if, however, he wanted to leave then that is a different matter. he clearly doesn't so it's only hypothetical, but it would be a risk forced upon us, not one we would be trying to maneuver. if i'm being totally honest the risk would be a hell of a lot less scary than it was when hughes left. the new man would inherit a lot and the board would go for someone with a decent amount of experience given what happened with ince. like i said though, i don't think his job is done here just yet.
Commondore Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Whilst you may well have known him better than me maybe HG (as in War of the Worlds)? Yours in pedantry. I think he's referring to the radio broadcast of War of the Worlds, produced by Orson (but originally written by HG) which some Americans thought was for real. A lot of Wells to keep up with!
Hughesy Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 It wouldnt be the end of the world?? Perhaps not...but it could soon become the end of our premier league stay. :!:
braddock Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 It wouldnt be the end of the world?? Perhaps not...but it could soon become the end of our premier league stay. :!: not necessarily though it is pretty much inevitable anyway
bluebruce Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Yes, Speroni is an Argentinain goalkeeper...and Avram Grant will be Portsmouth's next manager... Shame...(assuming you mean West Ham)...I was about to put a bet on that, but looks like the cat is already out the bag. Grant's odds are already 1/6, 4/17 and 1/5 at odds checker :-(
BigUts Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Just seen on SSN that John Williams has rejected suggestions that SA is leaving for West Ham! YAY!
Stuart Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Just seen on SSN that John Williams has rejected suggestions that SA is leaving for West Ham! YAY! Unlike Rovers to comment on stuff. I guess he was definitely approached then.
Hughesy Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Unlike Rovers to comment on stuff. I guess he was definitely approached then. No just a warning! But Williams yesterday confirmed that no approach has been made by the Londoners, and made clear his position that Allardyce is not available. “There’s been no approach and we wouldn’t welcome any approach,” said the Rovers chairman LT Article
Guest Kamy100 Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 I can see why Sam appeals to the West Ham owners, they have a history at Birmingham of appointing British Managers (e.g Trevor Francis, Steve Bruce and Alex McLesih), they need someone to bring stability to their club and work on a budget (which would be more than what Rovers are spending but not huge amount). In the end if Sam is approached it will be his decision as to whether he leaves or not, he will take the footballing side into account but also the wishes of his family, he may not want all the upheavel etc. I think that it would be a risk for him to join West Ham, they are a club which has a huge amount of probelms, whereas at Rovers he may not have millions to spend, but does have a settled squad, good experienced pros and a great bunch of young players coming through.
Hughesy Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Sam would be mad to go their....its Newcastle all over again. Owners too involved, fans expecting too much - thinking they deserve top 6 football.
niggit Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Tell Wham Ince is available Not even Man City have enough funds for him
