Mine should be here on launch day.

I think I am getting Resistance: Fall of Man, Call of Duty 3 and Motorstorm with it.

Anyone any ideas how good these games are? ...

They are all good. Haven't stopped playing Motorstorm all weekend.

I was under the impression that launch day allocation is nearing a sell out, and several stores aren't actually stating thier customers will get a ps2 on launch day any more, merely that preorders are still being taken. A couple of places in town have ommitted the 'launch day guarentee' on thier displays...

Either way - it wouldn't surprise me if the ps3 was going for more than market value on ebay, seeing as how most things on there are!

Perhaps the more unscrupulous stores are doing that but this is what Amazon are currently saying "We have consoles available for launch day. We will stop taking pre-orders for the PS3 once we’ve pre-sold all the consoles Sony have allocated to us for release day. Read our FAQs for more information." And they are still taking pre-orders.

This shows that with 4 days left, there are still some available. Therefore, if there are ones available at the correct price, to order now for decent suppliers, then there will be no over inflated ebay market. Well I hope so anyway. I detest the scalpers that buy over stock to simply try and rip the gullible off.

Yeah - fair point biddy.

There were rumours that stores would withold stock to generate greater interest in the console.

I think they were unfounded though.

The overinflated prices on ebay dont bother me - if people are stupid enough to pay well over the odds, then let them.

my mate pre ordered two with the intention of making money on one but has cancelled one order as its just not worth it. You will be able to pick one up on the day guaranteed.

As for the xbox, its build quality is awful. I repair devices to component level and Microsoft offered a tiny 3 month warranty on the xbox for 1 reason. They used lead free solder which results in multiple dry joints, the circuit board is so thin it flexes and the overheating is an issue. Just google the " 3 red L.E.Ds " fault for it. You will see what I mean.

Yes it's true. This phenomenon is more affectionatley known as the "Red Light of Death". I don't know Microsofts policy over in the U.K. but over here when you send in your 360 to get repaired they simply send you a refurbished one in it's place.

The "Red Light of Death" was more prevalent during the launch but many 360's bought to this day are still affected by it.

I have had no problems with my Xbox 360 or my Xbox.

Yet when I had a PS2 I had to replace it twice.

It's 6 of one and half a dozen of the other.

I'm trading in my now out of warranty launch day 360 for a Playstation 3 on Friday. Fed up with always worrying about the 'three red lights of death' and being annoyed by the really loud drive noise that it puts out. Will be nice to watch some high def movies and play Motorstorm, Resistance and Virtua Fighter 5 :)

graphics aren't even as good

Prove it then???

The FACT is that no one really knows at the moment what each machine can do. On release both machines are going to be almost identical until the developers get to grips with making the games. But these are two very differnet machines and in a couple of years the games are going to look very different on both consoles.

You will see.

Just had a mail shot through from Sony Home Entertainment that might interest some people. It states that the first 500,000 people in Europe to register their PS3's will get the Blu-Ray version of Casino Royale for free. Now that's not a bad offer.

I thought that all of them came with it anyway? I was sure I read this was the case and the Yanks got Tangilla Nights (or whatever it was called) free with it

Was a while ago I read that anyway.

Oh yeah, I remember that now. Maybe the email just doesn't read right?

The item states

"PS3 IS COMING ON MARCH 23RD! - The frist 500,000 people to register their PS3 will be rewarded with a copy of Casino Royale on Blu-ray!"

Maybe by register they mean buy?

I got the sixaxis ps3 controller delivered yeaterday. Was it not supposed to be out til today? Seemed a bit pointless sat in front of the telly with a controller but no ps3...

I bet you kept looking at it though dying to play.

Has your PS3 arrived today then? How is it?

For Casino Royale you need to create a new master account through the PS3 even if you created a master account through the website that allowed you to sign up before the consoles release. You also need to use a new email address for it and once you have created the new account it gives you a message about Casino Royale on Blu-Ray at the end.

Got mine through this morning but still haven't played any games yet. Currently downloading GT HD. Then I'll get round to playing Resistance, Motorstorm and Ridge Racer 7.

Yeah - got that. It's quite good really. I like being able to download demo's for free. No mention of Casino Royale in my email, but when I finished the registration it did say 'blu ray disk offer one per household'...

Anyone got any idea's how I get my old ps2 game saves onto the ps3 without spending money? Or how get Fifa 07 to connect to the internet with it?

Has yours arrived yet cocker?
