mellison24 Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 I've had a few discussions with many mates (and just now spoke to Modes98 via PM) about the lack of vocals in the BBE, where the 'best fans' are. We need a mass revolt against this silence as it kills the atmosphere. I hate having to rely on a goal, good save, or awesome tackle before we get any chants going!! I invite you to be as creative as you like with any chants you like that never get started, or haven't been tried yet at Ewood. We need to be heard, once more!! Feel free to steal other people's ideas; just make sure they get posted and we can give them a go at Ewood! So, go ahead......

super_arran Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 I think the problem with No Nay Never is that many young fans don't want to sing it because to be honest it's something their nan's sing when they've had a little too much booze at christmas. We need decent chants not just crap old songs....
67splitscreen Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 It's part of our heritage and arguably others to it seems.
modes98 Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Songs Section for inspiration. As I said in the PM, the way to get chants to stick is for them to be funny and original. Good luck with that.
Stuart Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Our more vocal supporters - the ones who tend to lead the current chanting - seem to be quite venomous. Usually it's about our hatred of Burnley or giving some stick to an opposition player or manager. Or even more stupid like shouting 'Millwall' to West Ham fans. I'd like a few songs which get behind Rovers or are more iconic (like "Blue Moon" or "I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles" or "Delilah" - "Wild Rover" is probably our nearest but see above) instead of trying to do down the opposition fans. And not just "Gerrintoem" or "Attack Attack...". Good idea Mellison but we need a bit of creativity - then we need to convince people to sing it. I'll have a think.
sambo Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 He shoots with his left... He shoots with hsi riiiiiight.. Morten Gamst Pedersen Makes Burnley look #####
Inta Beaver Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 All These Things That I've Done lyrics When there's nowhere else to run Is there room for one more son One more son If you can hold on If you can hold on, hold on I wanna stand up, I wanna let go You know, you know - no you don't, you don't I wanna shine on in the hearts of men I wanna mean it from the back of my broken hand Another head aches, another heart breaks I am so much older than I can take And my affection, well it comes and goes I need direction to perfection, no no no no Help me out Yeah, you know you got to help me out Yeah, oh don't you put me on the back burner You know you got to help me out And when there's nowhere else to run Is there room for one more son These changes ain't changing me The gold-hearted boy I used to be Yeah, you know you got to help me out Yeah, oh don't you put me on the back burner You know you got to help me out You're gonna bring yourself down Yeah, you're gonna bring yourself down Yeah, you're gonna bring yourself down [x10] I got soul, but I'm not a soldier I got soul, but I'm not a soldier Yeah, you know you got to help me out Yeah, oh don't you put me on the back burner You know you got to help me out You're gonna bring yourself down You're gonna bring yourself down Yeah, oh don't you put me on the back burner You're gonna bring yourself down Yeah, you're gonna bring yourself down Over and in, last call for sin While everyone's lost, the battle is won With all these things that I've done All these things that I've done If you can hold on If you can hold on The Killers- All these things that I've done Whenever I hear this tune I always think it sounds like 'Oh you put me on the Blackburn' instead of Back burner. Alot of teams sing proper songs, I'm sure someone could change the words around a bit!
dannydisco Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Inspiral Carpets - First verse needs more incest. Husband don't know what he's done Kids don't know what's wrong with mum She can't say, they can't see, putting it down to another bad day Daddy don't know what he's done Kids don't know what's wrong with mum SO THIS IS HOW IT FEELS TO BE BURNLEY THIS IS HOW IT FEELS TO BE SMALL THIS IS HOW IT FEELS WHEN YOUR CLUB WINS NOTHING AT ALL == All things bright and beautiful, All trophies great and small, Rovers won the Premiership, And you've won f**k all ==
Ninjathunder Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Where's Peter Cucumber these days? He penned some hilarious ones. I remember his chant posted for the Dingles to sing after the 5-0 drubbing when they were forced pay to travel to the match on a ramshackle fleet of old buses. To the tune of 'God Save the Queen' it went something like: 'Stan save our ailing team Stan save our failing team Stan save our team' '@#/?s were glorious They p***ed all over us Paid £4 for the bus Stan save our team'

4ever&ever Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Got to say I really like dannys version of Inspiral Carpets song. I think we all need to choose the song 1st and then adapt the lyrics to suit it.
67splitscreen Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 tooting rovers for me it's easy to sing will catch on quick and after a skinful the lyrics are simple, much like those we will be singing about.
Backroom Tom Posted September 4, 2009 Backroom Posted September 4, 2009 How about: *insert player name* clap clap clap clap clap
Inta Beaver Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 This is my version of The Killers-All these things that I've done And where there's nowhere else to run Is there room for one more sun Yeah, you know you gotta help me out. Yeah, oh please put me on the Blackburn oh oh oh x8 Ive got soul and I am a Rover I've got soul and I am a Rover Have a listen on YouTube it's a quality tune.
Backroom Tom Posted September 4, 2009 Backroom Posted September 4, 2009 Oh and just to point out 'You're just a small town in Millwall' is just about the most pathetic chant ever heard at a football match
DeadlyDirk Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 A couple of short ones which are easy and may be able to catch on. Salgado Not original but don't know if it's ever been used by Madrid for Salgado before.... To the tune of D-I-S-C-O S-A-L GADO Givet To the tune of Louis Louis, Givet, Givet, Woaaahoo Andrews To the tune of Lily Allen's 'Not Fair' He's got no flair but at least he's really keen, at least he's really keen, at least he's really keen. Roque Should we ever see him again, to the tune of Elvis, Blue Sued Shoes He moved for the money, he moved for the ho's, he had one good season and that was all he had to show so don't you ever wear white and blue!! (Needs some work this one, especially considering Citeh's colours, but I thought it was coming along for a while.)
IAN57 Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Both sets of scousers have nicked Celtic and Rangers songs, so, why don't we. such as Oh the bluebells are blue oh the bluebells are blue Oh the rovers are blue Oh the rovers are blue Oh the bluebells ....... and on and on and on
