Iceman Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Pedersen out and Petrov in? I think my trousers would get a bit messy if that happened. You just get the feeling, that teams like Spurs, Fulham, Everton and Villa will be in there for his signature. Ill be very happy with Petrov in and MGP out.

AJW Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 do you think mgp signing will have any impact on the proposed guti deal?
Amo Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 do you think mgp signing will have any impact on the proposed guti deal? Well if Pedersen's worth £35-40,000 a week, then probably.
nicko Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 do you think mgp signing will have any impact on the proposed guti deal? It should not affect things...the bonus is that Rovers don't have to buy a replacement for MGP now. The Guti thing needs a face-to-face meeting with the manager. If he fancies it fot football reasons then you move on to the finance...
OJRovers Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Sam has said a few times already this summer that he has identified lots of targets, but there are lots of clubs who can beat us on transfer fees and wages so it becomes difficult to sign good players. MGP: on reflection it coudl be a good thing we have signed him, hopefully he will be a squad player only next year, which he is more than capable of, and we'll save any money required to replace him to spend on 1 or 2 players who will benefit the team.
T4E Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Dindane won't be going to Bolton...you can take that as fact. Ok, then what will Dindane do?
JAL Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Next time John Williams moans in the paper about wages dominating our budget far too much i will laugh at him. Clearly he will be talking a load ###### as he has just given this joker a new 4 year deal. MGP is a very good move by Rovers. Having to look at a 31 year old injury ridden player from Man City in Petrov was definitely not the way forward. MGP has proved his value to the team by moving more central. All in all good news all round, come on ye blues!
joey_big_nose Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Well if Pedersen's worth £35-40,000 a week, then probably. It is possible that he was only offered a pay cut. Hopefully we have limited his exposure. I don't really have a problem with Pedersen staying. More important to get Grella out the door imo, and Emerton both of whom seem to have little to offer us any more. Sad in Emo's case because he has been a fine servent. Chimbonda and Jacobsen also give us less than MGP.
Roberto Policano Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Surely you have not given him a pay raise?. He's looked very average in the games i've seen him play for you this season.
gumboots Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Surely you have not given him a pay raise?. He's looked very average in the games i've seen him play for you this season. Who knows how much we pay him? That's not the fans' business is it? My pay is a matter of public knowledge in that I get paid on a set pay scale which is accessible to all, but footballers get whatever they can persuade the club concerned they are worth and it's really nothing to do with the rest of us.
nicko Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Ok, then what will Dindane do? One agent too many sticking their nose in here... Lens now have a bigger bid than they expected from a club in Qatar and will meet them on Friday. Get the feeling this whole thing will collapse and he will be left with nothing. Starting to hope that is the outcome too.

Mrs C, you dont sound very happy today , poor Roberto
Sparky Marky Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 go on then...tell us how much you are on...saves me the hassle...
alexanders Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 One agent too many sticking their nose in here... Lens now have a bigger bid than they expected from a club in Qatar and will meet them on Friday. Get the feeling this whole thing will collapse and he will be left with nothing. Starting to hope that is the outcome too. Its a farce. I hope we stay clear. He isnt exactly a world-beater. MGP...I think everyone is fed up waiting. You didnt catch this one.
nicko Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 You didnt catch this one. Oh I don't know... Pedersen is in Norway and waiting for offers elsewhere...I don't think there are any that match what he could get at Rovers...60-40 that he stays now I think.
gumboots Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 go on then...tell us how much you are on...saves me the hassle... No idea actually, but teacher's pay scale at the top of where you can go if you don't have a tlr if you can be bothered to find out. I just know approx how much goes into my bank each month and that's all I care about. There are, as I'm finding out at the moment, a lot of things far more important than money - health, friendship, trust, support, honesty and a lot of other not very fashionable things.
Steve Moss Posted May 19, 2010 Author Posted May 19, 2010 Nicko, did MGP's new contract improve or did he take a pay cut?
alexanders Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 a lot of things far more important than money - Rovers, health, friendship, trust, support, honesty and a lot of other not very fashionable things.
gumboots Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Perhaps, but I was being serious. Can't watch Rovers without money. The other things are ones we all take for granted but sometimes you get a reminder that you can't ignore.
bluebruce Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Nicko, did MGP's new contract improve or did he take a pay cut? I echo this question- I think there are a lot of us would love to know whether he got rewarded for his inadequacies or punished for them. Could you please, please do a little digging and find out?
nicko Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Nicko, did MGP's new contract improve or did he take a pay cut? I would be pretty sure it's improved...but no idea of the figures.
67splitscreen Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 I would be pretty sure it's improved...but no idea of the figures. That's enough to start four years of speculation, has to be on 50k, nah! 45 max.
