Its hard to say without the information as above.

But at that time of year, I would have thought many places would be quiet, in your typical lads holiday destinations.

But if its a few days you're looking for, look no further than Amsterdam. book early flights will be £60ish and if theres a few of you, you can get a hostle for a few quid a night each (your own room that it, even cheaper if you're willing to share with random ozzies and americans). There's certainly enough to do and see, and far too much stuff to drink!

Spot on - nowhere better in the world for a lads holiday than Vegas.

I have to disagree, but I'm not a gambler, nor do I have any interest in lap dancing clubs.

My favourite destinations are beach resorts where you can roll out of bed, have a kip in the sun, and are a stone's throw away from the action.

New York is also good; loads going on.

Vegas is amazing, but I have also been to Atlantic City which I have to say is not far behind!

The reputation the place gets from TV and films seemed a little unjustified!

I thought it was cleaner than Vegas, not blistering hot, just as many casinos, has a wow factor and is close to New York so you could go to AC for a day trip (a couple of hours drive). I was staying in Philadelphia when we went, and only took 45 mins.

Vegas does have a certain charm however and is an amazing place to visit. If only they could get rid of those hispanics handing out porn cards on the strip! You cant walk 100 yards without someone flicking a card in your face! :angry2:

Closer to home, I enjoyed Prague when I went (2002), but I suppose thats a bit of a cliche these days.

The best lads holiday I went on, was to my mates mansion on the Sandy Lane estate in Barbados! There was 7 of us, aged 19 at the time, spent all day on the exclusive beach drinking Banks beer and playing cricket. Good times.

You don't need to be a gambler or partake in forbidden pastimes, but you can roll out of bed and have a kip in the sun and be a stones throw away from the action.

Vegas isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but for a lads holiday you have so many options, from firing an M16 in the morning to sky diving in the afternoon and driving round a Nascar track at night.

For me it’s the best lads holiday on the planet, but for others its hell on earth!

and I agree New York is a great city....

unfortunately, it aint gonna be long haul. it is more of a long weekend away type, going friday morning and back monday night. in the past we have been to barcelona, berlin, megamuff and krakow and our age groups are ranging from the youngest being 24 and the oldest just having turned 60. we all like sightseeing, but do also like a good nightlife where there are plenty of bars etc etc....and we are more into citys, rather than beaches, but would not discount them altogether.

somewhere in central europe or in the med, would be just about right, i would think.

Thats hardly fair!

True. But the picture above is literally five blocks away from the Trump hotel. Living a couple of miles away I get to see the 25% of Atlantic City that lives below the poverty line on a daily basis, and it's not pretty.

Amsterdam is well worth the visit,if your trip is going to be mainly beer orientated  then i recommend staying at `st christophers at the winstons` which backs onto the red light district! Its a cheap, clean, safe hostel and with a good breakfast too. Also do some good meals too.if you find the website and make yourself a member they used to send a discount card that got you 10% off drinks and food there.

EDIT:here it is

Don't think you can go far wrong with Germany - as you'll know because you've already done Berlin.

If you look around the Cologne / Bonn / Dusseldorf / Dortmund area there are a number of advantages ...

- shop around for cheap flights - you can fly in to any one of 5 or 6 airports

- ditto for hotels, good value to be had especially in some of the smaller places like Duisburg

- plenty to see and do, good choice of bars, restaurants and nightlife

- fast, frequent (ie German) trains linking all those cities running well into the wee small hours

- German beer and Bratwurst

- catch a Bundesliga game during the weekend, there's about 5 teams to choose from within reach in that area (cheap admission, take beer to your seats) xmas.gif
