Lets see.... 16m for Jones, 10m? for Samba, 5-10m? for Hoilett.... Thats a total of 31-36 million! Jerome Anderson will be creaming himself over what he can do with that! Skimming from that pile will be like taking candy from a baby. <_<

err ..... imo

OR VENKYS GETTING THEIR MONEY BACK AND BUCKING OFF?:rolleyes:

Is Jerome back in the manager's office yet?

Always difficult to take seeing quality players leave the club, especially as they are never that easy to replace - feels like we have not seen enough of Phil Jones yet for him to leave just yet....

Funny that because I'm sure some people found out about the release clause in Bellamy's contract despite denials by the player...

People forget that players, managers and agents have close friends and despite the trust put to those people, someone always will 'spill the beans' of course you are correct, someone will know.

In a way he didn't reach his potential Den, all that talent and he won one medal, John O Shea has a bigger trophy cabinet- he could and should have had more.

He reached his potential as a player - his goalscoring record proves that.

His lack of medal success is down to leaving Blackburn Rovers. Just think if that championship team had stayed together and Jack hadn't turned off the money tap.

This clause means Phil Jones is a gonner... The thing that works in his favour is that once a few clubs offer the magic £16m, it is then a bidding war / auction on who offers the highest / best contract... Good luck to him!!!

I would have loved to see him here for a few more years & possibly watch him blossom into one of Europe's best defenders, while wearing the famous Blue & White halves, but clearly it's another case of "Money talks & Bulls**t walks".

The owners must re-invest the proceeds of this sale, if they don't then there will be a serious backlash from us fans!!!

I said this window will define us as a club & where the owners see us, and I'm damn sure that this is the start of some very nervous moments for Rovers fans!!!

So because Kenwoo's source says there is a £16m clause, its now fact?

Kenwoo - who is your source please?

Nicko has looked into it and heard the same.

One thing to remember is if Jones leaves it's because he wants to, not because of Steve Kean or Venkys as much as some people hope.

I was amazed that someone today (probably JAL) said Samba wants to leave if Kean stays even though he's been trying to engineer a move for a year or so.

When Shearer left it wasn't the manager or Jacks fault, when Bellamy left it wasn't Sparkys, and as dodgy as our owners and manager may be this is the same.

Well if Nicko says so - it must be true then!

No offense to Nicko, but he's been known to be wrong you know.

It's sort of their fault if they put in a clause when we could have got more for him than £16 million. Nicko's been saying for a few days that we had perfect market conditions to hold out for a big deal, with a whole host of teams interested. And if they didn't bid enough, we'd just hold onto him till the next window.

I suppose its possible that he had a clause in his earlier Trust contract for less and Kean pushed it up higher, but barring that, Kean's work in January must have been some of the most idiotic in the club's history: rush to offer a new contract to Jones, paying him more so we can sell him for less, despite him already having a 5 year deal, while ignoring Junior Hoillet, who may not renew now, resulting in us losing him for less than he's worth, too.

As for the comparisons, we got a British record fee for Shearer and Bellamy would never have joined the club without the clause. Not so for Jones.

Should we be surprised by any clause?

Only a matter of time now it seems, who next to jump ship after Jones?,what message does this send out to other promising team members?.....................

<_<

Guardian running with a story on Liverpool saying they have raised their bid to £20 million for Henderson of Sunderland, nothing mentioned on Jones though...

Eh? Shearer didn't reach his true potential? 30 league goals, three seasons running. Scoring in every home game until February? Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year. PFA Players' Player of the Year. For rovers, 171 appearances, 130 goals.

He was, in my opinion, the best centre forward this country has produced as long as I've been watching football.

Without injury he would have been European and World footballer of the year - that was his potential IMO - hence he didn't reach it. His first half season before his first cruciate injury he was unstoppable - and would have got even better.

I agree he was the best center forward I have seen play for this country - without injury I think he would have been even better.

Is this one that Kean and Venkys will be blamed for I wonder? Who else is there to blame?

£16m seems a fair price I feel but obviously we are biased

If he joins Pool I'd be sickened. I'd rather a freaking CL team.

Did somebody say recently 'Rovers are not a selling club' No need to sell to buy. What a load of rubbish that was.

No wonder Kean was saying 'we have a good budget'.

Why did Kean have to warn PJ about not moving? Why would a player want to leave a club he supports?

I suggest it is because he does not like seeing what is happening at the club with Kean and venkys. Or is PJ motivated by money alone? If the money is not needed and venkys have money to support the club, why consider selling. why not try to convince PJ to stay?

5mill is not a good budget. When PJ is sold - wonder where the money will go? I have no confidence in Venkys or Kean.
