Glenn Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 11pm Iv a feeling the bad news will be Samba or Givet, although that is just a hunch Anyone (other than Nicko) even mentioning 11 O'Clockers will be forced to buy one of these (all profits to BRFCS etc) http://brfcs.spreadshirt.co.uk/11-o-clocker-A15014068/customize/color/17

chaddyrovers Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Samba to go to arsenal for 15 million. That gives us in the region of 40 to 50 million to spend. Keans gone to India to get sacked and Benitez to get job with an hefty war chest. What you think guys? we can only hope so, but don't count your chickens???
Andy3809 Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 I'm guessing with arsenal missing out on jones they will go for samba. This is my guess on the bad news anyways. Lets hope not! I don't know why but I really can't see wenger making a move for Samba. He strikes me as being a bit pig headed and with every pundit, commontator and fan pointing out that he would have been a perfect signing for Arsenal in January he won't lose face and persue it. Hope I'm right. Unfortunatly I can see Liverpool or Spurs chancing their arm. Just hope we quote them massive money if he does want out.

Bobby G Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 People you are kidding yourselves if you think Samba will now cost 15m. I wouldn't be surprised if he had a clause too circa 10m. He won't leave for more than that.

DavidMailsTightPerm Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Im starting to believe that Venkys wants to make profit of the club in selling our best players and sing young players and develope them.. Why ? A player left because he had a clause in his contract - I doubt that Rovers asked for the clause. We were well run by the Trust for years - and yet they only lost money on us. What makes you think Venky's can make a profit - and keep us in the Premiership (get relegated and effectively all the money spent on Rovers is lost).

Mercer Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Regretfully, I think the odds on Hoilett being with Rovers next season are pretty long. This has been a potential bombshell for at least two months now but some couldn't or wouldn't see it. If we think Jones is a poor deal @ £16m, there will be uproar if and when Hoilett goes for, probably, no more than £5m given he now has just about a year left. It never rains but pours.
steo Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Gutted to see Phil Jones leaving but surely now that should be a line through mame diouf and santa cruz,Defoe should be a priority with maybe Garay from real madrid
Hughesy Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 IF hoilett refuses a new deal....then personally id let him play it out - his next 12 months could be worth more to us that a sh!tty £4-5m
slough_rover Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Gutted to see Phil Jones leaving but surely now that should be a line through mame diouf and santa cruz,Defoe should be a priority with maybe Garay from real madrid The thing is would Defoe want to join a club that has just sold its diamond and can offer no european football?
Hi Mack Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Massive week ahead for Rovers........... If Samba goes aswell what signal does this send out to the other players? Venkys need to give Kean(wish it wasnt him though)all th money generated from sales and get real quality, A striker or 2, new CB and a Midfielder!
neophox Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Didn't Samba signed a contract extension this year?? If no clause inserted then they will have to pay big money for him.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 United want shut. Is it an attitude problem with him Roberto?
RibbleValleyRover Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Someone on twitter says he has failed his medical? Surely can't be correct?

Commondore Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 United want shut. For good reasons. Failed miserably when properly tested on the big stage this year and has done absolutely nothing besides that purple patch a year ago when balls kept bouncing off him into the net. Will end up at Serie B, tops.
Kelbo Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 IF hoilett refuses a new deal....then personally id let him play it out - his next 12 months could be worth more to us that a sh!tty £4-5m We would still get a few million at the end of his contract under the under 24 compensation clause where clubs have developed players.
steo Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 The thing is would Defoe want to join a club that has just sold its diamond and can offer no european football? If Defoe was guaranteed first team football with no squad rotation i think he could be convinced but then he will score twenty goals and beg for a transfer back to london the following season just like Bellamy and Roque.
slough_rover Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Didn't Samba signed a contract extension this year?? If no clause inserted then they will have to pay big money for him. The rumour around the campfire was that he has a 20 million clause in his contract.
