roversfan99 Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 This may be a fair guess as Deportivo were relegated, we've been linked with him in the past and Nicko mentioned a left winger.
2PAC 4 Blackburn Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Think there's more chance in winning the Euros!
andyroversmad Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 I think he would be a better signing than Vucinic from Roma. Maybe Roque could help speak to him...
Hughesy Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Forlan for sale: England his choice Rumours of £7m fee for the 32 year old....get all over it Rovers!! Even with no re-sale, a quality goalscorer for £7m isnt to be sniffed at to mark our ambitions
braddock Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 We've got Roberts and Benjani for back up strikers.
braddock Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Would they sell him to a future Champions League rival though?
neophox Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 How old was Andy Cole when he joined us? Cole was 30 when he joined us. But when Cole was 33 he joined Fulham and scored 13 goals At 34 he joined Man City and scored 10 goals.
braddock Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 After dismissing it straight off at first now I'm kind of excited, which is pointless in a thread which has come about as message board driven speculation. If he's that old, has rejected a new contract and perhaps feels he has unfinished business in this league and wants a crack at it again with less pressure then it's possible. Still can't see it happening though. Nice to feel like it's not impossible to get him on board though haha. Ah, I thought he was 31/32 neophox. Do you know how old he was when he signed for Burnley then? Sorry to be a taskmaster and you don't have to bother but I could do with a laugh.

braddock Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 I was expecting 34 (till I saw what you added to the post above mine), then I moved on to 35. They should get him Gazza and Wright back in for next season. Maybe even Waddle and Woods too! I couldn't wish for Rovers to have a better rival.
Oklahoma Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Benfica are willing to sell him for 20 to 25 million €. He wants to sign a big contract. Could happen. I would prefer to pay 30 million € (release clause) to get Falcão but that would be almost impossible.
A cup of beans Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 I too prefer to base decisions on sound reason not blind prejudice. Anyway time to go on holiday for a couple of weeks. You never know we might have Chris Eagles on our books by then?  i know someone who is very close to jay and his family.. big burnley fans as a family. should we sign him ? .. if he's good enough and wants to come, why not! imagine the uproar of the dingles.. if we nicked their prize assett and 1 of their own. do i think we will sign him... ??? no (nay) never
Ricky Posted June 23, 2011 Author Posted June 23, 2011 I was hoping you'd comment Oklahoma. How was his form last season? Doesnt seem to have been updated on his wikipedia. £17.5m would possibly get him then. Would be a better option to me than Vucinic.
TugaysMarlboro Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Would be very pleased with Cardozo. Think he has the physicality to succeed in the PL.
Hughesy Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 I was hoping you'd comment Oklahoma. How was his form last season? Doesnt seem to have been updated on his wikipedia. 22 games, 12 goals, 0 assists Stats here
herbergeehh Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Been wanting Cardozo for a long time. Vucinic is overall a better player in my opinion, but Cardozo is a beast. I feel pretty sure our style of play next season will fit Vucinic better than Cardozo though... less crossing, more passing.
