BigBar Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 The Norwegian pundits had Wolves quite high because they signed Johnsen. I wonder how much difference he will make for Wolves. Bolton a seriously lacking a goalscorer this season. Kettle, teapot ring any bells??

Amo Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Who is the striker in talks with rovers? Norwich, QPR, Wigan, WBA, Bolton, Swansea and Wolves are all poorer sides than us....why do they predict us that low? I picked up The Mirror fixture pamphlet and 6 of their 10 "experts" all had us in the bottom 3. David Anderson had us rock bottom. Like I said before, we're easy targets, but relegation certs? I wouldn't be so sure.
Neal Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Metro says Darren Gibson's move to Sunderland has fallen through and that he could move to us. Wouldn't be surprised if he came here on loan. I see that it's already been mentioned in another thread... Sorry. http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/football/871671-darron-gibson-targeted-by-blackburn-following-sunderland-transfer-collapse?
daveoftherovers Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 What planet you on Dave.. just how are we stronger? At the moment we will start the new season with Givet and Hanley in central defense and Roberts up front. And what positives? We might of looked at seventy players but we have only signed one so far and until that changes we are in trouble. Veev's: Same planet as you, but looking for the upside instead of being a doom merchant pal, that's where This time last year our squad was the same, but without the january loans and signings and without some of youngsters showing up, since then they have, so I stand by my statement You've forgotten about Goodwillie, what is he, scotch mist? Petrovic will do a job and you can obviously see there are few more to come, including the winger we are trying to tie up, and you KNOW there will be loans This time last year we didn't have ANY money at all, and owners that didn't want us Okay Samba's injured, and he might leave (Again!) and Nelson's coming back from Injury (Again) so what has changed? Who instead of them Kish? Because that was all that was available back then? I'm genuinely looking forward to seeing how our youngsters cope, and that includes Rochina, Formica, Lowe, Hanley, Olsson, N Zonzi, Hoilett etc.. With these guys we have some experience in Robinson, MGP, Nelson, Bert & Roberts etc. What would you rather do? Sit under a black cloud, drip like a septic bum and pack it all in? Look at Wigan, West Brom, Bolton, Wolves, Norwich, QPR, Newcastle, Swansea etc. Now, seriously, are they in a better place than us? Honest Answer, No they aren't are they? In fact some of the above are going to get mullered! Seeing as I started supporting Rovers when we had just graced the old 3rd divison, I think I have my feet on the deck expectation wise, it isn't going to be easy, and Rovers have NEVER made it easy. But I'll make a real assessment when the season starts and when the transfer window closes and not before.
philipl Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 We are waiting for Roverinsider to post 30 names, A targets, B targets and C targets, then Philipl to post it on here and then a few hours later we will bid for a player not on any of the lists. Then Nicko to claim will will not spend a penny until Kalinic is sold (even though we have spent 6 million at least) and look certain to spend more. I have a feeling Kean might go after Upson at some point but I am just guessing, he is still free. Probably its a player from aboard. Especially for you Chris but be warned this is now almost certainly purely BS (as I have posted in my last post): roversinsider Blackburn Rovers Spy DEPRESSING..has to be the only term for this window mainly due to broken promises. Taking time to reflect. No longer the same club. #Rovers 3 minutes ago Favorite Retweet Reply roversinsider Blackburn Rovers Spy 'WISH LIST'...in the shredder #Rovers 5 minutes ago roversinsider Blackburn Rovers Spy MILITO...nothing happening. #Rovers 5 minutes ago roversinsider Blackburn Rovers Spy RAUL...deal dead. #Rovers 5 minutes ago roversinsider Blackburn Rovers Spy TRANSFERS...total outlay will be NO MORE than £10m budget + Kalinic money. Bal not happy with options & withdrawing his money AGAIN #Rovers
Nelsta Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 According to roversinsider, it's all doom n gloom again.balja has withdrew his money, target list has been torn up again and we aint signing anyone.
Ricky Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Don't personally think roversinsider has got the foggiest what's going on. Last time he pulled out alist of transfer targets and the next day we went for Goodwille who wasn't on any of his lists. Surely that has to show the guess work level he's working to.
alexanders Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Kettle, teapot ring any bells?? No, because I dont know what that means.

Bal not happy with options & withdrawing his money AGAIN #Rovers Complete and utter BS (apart from transfer budget bit). I posted on here on Friday that Raul deal not happening (Wage demands to high), Milito off (Transfer fee and wage demands way to high). This does not mean that the money has been pulled by the owners. Negotiating team still working hard to get players in before the end of the transfer window. On top of Goodwillie and Petrovic (total spend £5 million) there is around £11 million left in the pot.
sharpysharps Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 No idea who roversinsider is but the comment about trhe Raul deal being dead did make me laugh. I'm pretty sure our more than reliable Kamy said that there was no interest in Raul and while he said it might be something that is going on over his sources heads I still take his word over roversinsider anyday. Also remember that last time it was all doom and gloom according to roversinsider was the same week we agreed a fee for Petrovic a couple of days later. Personally if Balaji can;'t decide whether to put his own personal funds in for transfers i'm not that bothered. Sounds like he has no concept of football and how to sign players anyway and while Raul, Milito, etc we aren't guranteed that they would work their socks off for us or just pick up one last big paycheck before retiring. Just seen Kamy's post above mine. Thanks for the info matey!
Backroom Tom Posted August 8, 2011 Backroom Posted August 8, 2011 Lets remember these gems from Roversinsider: - We are after Jorge Ribeiro - Samba is in talks at hotel - Ribeiro awaiting a call (then later the same day he is pictured at Rovers) - 3 definitive lists of strikers (none of them Goodwillie) - nothing will be spent until Niko goes And many more.
briansol Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 So according to roversinsider we only have 10mill + Kalinic money to spend which should be something like 15-16 mill, which is not so bad in my opinion, considering we already have spent just 5 or 6 on Goodwillie and petrovic. Bring in Vierinha and a striker + plus getting a defender on loan, then things doesn't look so bad. Also, Raul and esp Milito not coming cannot be any news. The whole marquee thing sounds a bit far fetched anyway. Barry White himself said earlier that they were not chasing that kind of players.

Roverdale Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Robinson Salgado Samba Givet Olsson Petrovic N'Zonzi Hoillett Formica Vierinha (new ST) Subs: Bunn Roberts Rochina Nelsen Dunn Pedersen Hanley Goodwillie (new CB) There you go.. squad of 20 for whoever asked. It's not ideal or champions league standard. But it aint relegation certs either.
Kamy100 Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Does this include a Kalinic sale ? Yes, I believe £10 million plus Kalanic sale. The owners also looking at a new overdraft facility so if that is sorted out then potential extending the budget. But as it stands budget is around £16-£17 million mark. I think that by the end of the window we will sign 4 players and possibly get 2 players in on loans with views to buy clauses.

Backroom Tom Posted August 8, 2011 Backroom Posted August 8, 2011 Another nice one from Roversinsider last week: roversinsider Blackburn Rovers Spy @ @philjohnson012 @adamcatterall Diouf has been on £60k pw basic since he signed #Rovers
Kamy100 Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 16-17£ including the already spent 3 on goodie and 3 on petrovic? Dont like that we see so little of the PJ sale reinvested. Think that £2 million Goodie (add ons not due yet) and £3 million Petrovic. The PJ money from what I am told was taken by the bank on cancellation of the overdraft facility, so if they are able to arrange a new overdraft, in theory that money then becomes available again.
alexanders Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 I would like us to sign Hugo Rodellega. Would be perfect for the position we are trying to fill. Actually it is strange that no PL teams have been after him this summer. Thanks Kamy. I appreciate your info.
adsfortheblues Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 16-17£ including the already spent 3 on goodie and 3 on petrovic? Dont like that we see so little of the PJ sale reinvested. Well if we round it off and we spend £20million, thats £5 million which owenrs said is minimum they would spend every window, plus £6 million from kalinic sale thats £11million then another £9million form jones sale, that isnt to bad. Then maybe the rest of the jones sale 6-7million is being save for january? if this is the case i would be quite happy with this, far better than what we could have hoped for under the trust really. I would like us to sign Hugo Rodellega. Would be perfect for the position we are trying to fill. Actually it is strange that no PL teams have been after him this summer. Couple of lads i know who are wigan fans do not rate him at all and said they would prefer roberts
Nelsta Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 @roversinsider:Removed from my position. Keep doing this to us all and the club will be permanently changed. Good luck.
MarkBRFC Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 I don't think we will get anyone else in ahead of the Wolves game now to be honest. But if we can get in Vierinha, a new striker and a new centre half before the end of the window, aswell as keeping Samba i think we should be able to push back towards the top 10 again.
67splitscreen Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 @roversinsider:Removed from my position. Keep doing this to us all and the club will be permanently changed. Good luck. Peed myself at that one.
alexanders Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Couple of lads i know who are wigan fans do not rate him at all and said they would prefer roberts Then they have no clue. Jason Roberts: 124 apps with 24 goals compared to Hugo Rodallega: 89 apps, 22 goals. He also has the correct attributes to be a perfect target man and doesnt whine and give away free kicks like Roberts. Considering Colombias strikers Hugo Rodallega and Radamel Falcao I would take a closer look to Jackson Martinez. 4 goals in 9 for Colombia . Still only 24. Apparently pacey striker who is good in the air.
67splitscreen Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Kamy, do you believe that Balaji is still looking to put his hand in his own pocket this window?
