patrickvalery Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 England v Netherlands cancelled as well as several Carling games. Kick off of the PL this weekend very much in doubt because of policing needs. That might give us an extra week to bed in this week's influx of signings! On a serious note, these little sods need sorting out asap. The world is watching and it doesn't fill anyone with much confidence before the Olympics. Barring the carrying of the torch i guess.
chaddyrovers Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 That is a real shame that Football has been cancel because of these thugs!!! I hope that all football games should go ahead at the weekend. Hopefully the police/MP's will have this under control by Friday.
chris Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 rubber bullet the little b'a'stards, can;t believe they are getting away with this. Some idiot posted a pic of himself with about 40 stolen goods on facebook smiling.
pancini Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 Half of the people doing it are just little scrotes whos balls havent dropped yet if the police gave a couple of them a belt with a baton the rest of them would run off home to mummy and daddy
cruz Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 It takes rioters to bring sense to the FA to cancel this shambolic sham of a game
rovgers Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 Half of the people doing it are just little scrotes whos balls havent dropped yet if the police gave a couple of them a belt with a baton the rest of them would run off home to mummy and daddy Unfortunately mummy and daddy would sue the police for hitting their poor baby!
pancini Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 Unfortunately mummy and daddy would sue the police for hitting their poor baby! The police should then charge the parents for child neglect allowing them to be out on the streets at that time of night
pancini Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 They cant just change the venue though because now all the scruffs in other parts of the country have seen how easy it is they will start to join in i would be amazed if it doesnt happen in many other parts of the country over the next few days
Hughesy Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 Shame the other games cant be called off too. Sad state that muppets have caused this - but glad a friendly is off 3 days before the start of the season.....Cant Scotland & Wales follow the same route?
roverandout Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 cant see rovers game being called off, it doesnt affect blackburn, i have arranged my holiday abroad around saturdays fixture so better not change it
pancini Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 nothing in blackburn worth nicking ..... could go down darwen street into postal order for a bottle of spirits into the happy haddock for some take-away then into the adult shop for a dvd and you have a free night in
Backroom Tom Posted August 9, 2011 Backroom Posted August 9, 2011 Can they call the Scotland and Serbia games off as well please?
DeadlyDirk Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 Only positive thing to come out of the riots is that I don't have to watch these overpaid jokers try and kick a football.
roverandout Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 does anyone think rovers game on saturday will be called off?
Ripleys love child Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 does anyone think rovers game on saturday will be called off? Not as yet but things can quickly change with these mindless thugs. I sincerely hope not as i can't wait to get the season started
roverandout Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 me too, not letting these mindless thugs ruin my weekend
philipl Posted August 10, 2011 Author Posted August 10, 2011 Henry Winter has just tweeted that whilst the state of public order will have a bearing, the issue is that police resources are stretched to the limit following up all the masses of leads following the riots and apprehending all the offenders is absolutely top priority. The Met took 20,000 calls from the public in four hours the other night. Apparently many of these kids took their hoods off to ride public transport home with their looted goods- so that is hundreds of thousands of hours of CCTV from every bus and tube and railway carriage that needs to be examined.
chaddyrovers Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 LancsPolice LancsPolice by BBCLancashire We're happy to report we've had a quiet night here in Lancashire with no incidents of disorder - so it's business as usual across the county Hopefully the rovers game will go ahead on saturday
philipl Posted August 10, 2011 Author Posted August 10, 2011 The lead story on the BBC is the decision on postponement or not will be taken today. My link To be honest, I would be very happy with a postponement. Wolves are pretty well at full strength with regards to fitness and O'Hara and Johnson are smart signings. We are without Samba and Nelsen, Hoilett will be rusty, are short on new signings whilst Petrovic will still be doing his initiation song in the centre circle at kick off. It all adds up to an accident waiting to happen for Rovers if it goes ahead.
roverandout Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 sorry philip i wouldnt, i arranged my holiday in benidorm around this fixture so i would p*ssed if these chokers postponed this game. Cant see it happening anyway as the premierleague have already said that outside of london all premierleague fixtures will go ahead as planned, they said its highly unlikely there will be any postponements.
robbo_rovers Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 If they were to call off games would call them all off or just selected ones in certain areas? I can't imagine our game will require a massive number of police to be honest.
roverandout Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 yes i presume that the london based games will be in jepordy, cant see the likes of rovers-wolves being in any danger as there hasnt been any trouble round here yet.
Parsonblue Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 sorry philip i wouldnt, i arranged my holiday in benidorm around this fixture so i would p*ssed if these chokers postponed this game. Cant see it happening anyway as the premierleague have already said that outside of london all premierleague fixtures will go ahead as planned, they said its highly unlikely there will be any postponements. After events in Birmingham and Manchester last night I can see games not getting the go ahead for those cities. While Blackburn might not be a problem I suspect the difficulties will arise with regard to the number of police drafted in from this area to Manchester. Listening to the news today it would appear the government want heavy police numbers in problem cities for several days and this can only be done by moving them from other areas. While I hope our game goes ahead I wouldn't be surprised if the Premier League opt to start the season a week late and move Saturday's games to a midweek later in the season.
