I'm not too surprised. 'After Hours' is a personal favourite of mine hence its inclusion. 'Raging Bull' is a great spectacle but I found it hard to really warm to. It's not really a film that is easy to watch IMO. Still...it is according to others. Each to their own.

Gangs of New York, other than for a great performance by Daniel Day Lewis, was a film I didn't enjoy.

What is your favourite 92er?

My favourite is Goodfellas, my wife's is Taxi Driver- I found that overly violent at the time.

I saw "Straightheads" on Monday. It had a pretty basic story and for me Danny Dyer always plays himself and is fairly one dimentional. He was a "Cockney geezer" again in this. Gillian Anderson was really good though imo.

Very graphic violence throughout, some of it gratuitous.

I think I'll see "This is England" next week, that looks really interesting.

I liked Spiderman 3, didn't come close to 1&2 though. Problem is they tried to do too much, Sandman was largely pointless, should have just made Venom the main antagonist. That might be the plan for number 4 (if they make one) though, I doubt such a huge character of the Spidey universe would die after 15 minutes screentime.

Taxi Driver is a cracking film, what are you talking about man?!!!!!!!!!!!?

Goodfellas is a decent film, better than Casino, but I've had enough of watching mob films.

Watched Ed Wood recently - wryly amusing, rather than laugh-out-loud (although it had 1 or two moments). Martin whats-his-face is brilliant in it as Lugosi.

Well, according to DigitalSpy, Sony have anncounced there will be three more Spider-Man films after this one broke US box office records on it's opening weekend. It doesn't say what record but maybe it's the amount of people asleep by the end of the film?

That's a shame, because I've enjoyed the first 2 movies, but this one is the longest running time and maybe a bit darker.Saying that i love the action sequences and the special effects, and i think Kirstin Dunst is gorgeous.I'll wait for the dvd coming out, then i can skip the boring bits.I'm sure they'll make another movie, because Spiderman is a cult hero, and i always thought he was the most popular superhero.

So, who is everybodys favourite superhero, the new series on sci-fi was pathetic lol.

I'm sticking to Spidey, because like me...he's the oldest swinger in town. B)

I like Daredevil.

Have i got the right one, is that the one with Elektra, because i enjoyed the movie, but it was a very sad ending.

I've not seen Elektra yet, but i got Daredevil, Elektra, and Extrodinary Gents on one of those 3 movies box sets.

Why are all the movies always in widescreen.I use pc to play dvds, but i need to buy a proper dvd recorder,I'm just old fashoined lol, I can't get out of habit of VHS.I think somebody told me with a proper dvd player, that you can change the widescreen and view any way you want.

I'm a techno phope lol. :o

Never really watch super hero films myself, although I have seen the Batman films from the 1st Tim Burton one, to the one with George Cluney, which was utterly diaboloical. Not seen the Christian Bale one. However, I stand by the statement that the best superhero film is actually The Incredibles. It whips the arse off any CGI crap like Spiderman, as it is fully animated, and is just brilliant. Never liked Spiderman, he seemed dull, and the baddies were a bit lame. as for the recent films, the CGI just looks like a cartoon, and doesn't look realistic when applied to actual scenary.

I may have brought this up before, but I should watch this film again sometime:

Batman Begins is amazing and even superior to Batman. The sequel-Dark Knight-is at the top of my most anticipated films for next year. You're correct about The Incredibles though. One of my favourite films ever.

I agree, Batman Begins was a great film, at least on par with Batman and definately better than the rubbish sequels that followed that one. As for the sequel to Batman Begins is Joker going to be in it? Whoever plays him has got one hell of an act to follow in Jack Nicholson.

The unholy trinity of disappointing "comic to movie"

I bet the guys putting the box set together were laughing their arses off

I can top the inevitable crapness when the phrase "comic to movie is used". Ladies and Gentlemen, I give to you the phrase "computer game to movie". Has there ever been a good film that has come out of a computer game? Mario Brothers? Mortal Kombat? doom? erm, not those examples anyway.

I really don't think they'll be laughing their arses off at all, in fact the superhero stuff are very popular to all ages. It's pure escapism.Incidentally they do box sets to cater for all types, even the more intelletually challenged Barry Norman types.

I still haven't seen Batman Begins, but judging by its plaudits, then I can't wait to see it,or then again i may just wait for the box set coming out.

Talking of movies,Kill Bill Volume 1 on bbc3 at 10pm.The soundtrack alone makes it a must see movie
