krypton1980 Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Looks like the media are finally waking up, some honest articles in the nationals. They all have a common theme of pointing out that Kean didnt have a clue that the brothers has gone at half time, and that they were due to have a meeting in manchester earlier today. (sunday) Particularly interesting to me is Keans choice of words: "They're playing for each other. If you want to say they're playing for me, that's great, but they're playing for each other." Take this however you like but IMO that sounds like the players are playing for themselves (possibly some for the fans, some for their careers) but not for Kean. If this is the case then he has lost the dressing room and even his backers have to admit its time for him to go. Independant It says much for the lunacy that has engulfed Blackburn over the last 12 months that the outrageous Leeds tales of chairman Peter Ridsdale's goldfish and Seth Johnson wages negotiations would not be out of place at Rovers. Daily Mail How owners of a club could go to the trouble and expense of travelling halfway round the world for a game, and decide to clear off after 45 minutes, takes some working out. In their absence, Kean had to contend with chants for his, and their, departure, but he did his best to put on a brave face.‘I don’t know what happened with the owners at half-time, but I’m hoping they disappeared into an executive box to keep warm,’ he said. ‘We’ll have a chat in Manchester tomorrow about funding. We need to get players out of the treatment room, so we will discuss strengthening the squad. When the window opens, I’m sure we’ll have funds.’ Guardian Kean did concede that the supporters who continue to chant for his removal are not helping: "No, it's not ideal. But I think when the fans go home and when they sit and reflect on how we played and how we came back [they'll be happy]. We've lost [Christopher] Samba, Martin Olsson, Salgado's got concussion, we've a man sent off, we've thrown a lad on – Adam Henley – to play his debut, we're in the wars, we're down to the bare bones, [yet] they just won't stop keeping coming and playing. They're playing for each other. If you want to say they're playing for me, that's great, but they're playing for each other." Telegraph That Kean, who is more likely to be given a new contract than be sacked despite Rovers having won just three times in 27 Premier League matches, was jeered when he attempted to celebrate with supporters cemented the feeling of farce.

Seggie Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 I also dont believe that it's the owners who summon Kean to India, I think he goes over to stop them from coming here. I hadn't thought of that but it makes perfect sense to me
chromesub Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 I hadn't thought of that but it makes perfect sense to me Really does. I wonder if the Hunts or any other club people are ever summoned to India for any opposing views?
Kamy100 Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 I already said on twitter that it would be the best christmas present ever and that I would kiss Kamy if he gets sacked!! i'd pucker up if it meant it got rid of Kean. There were a lot of rumours yesterday, including some from people who are very well informed. The most interesting one I got was from someone who is very close to Ole Gunnar Solskjær (who was linked with Rovers job a few weeks ago), this person is very close to Solskjær and he was saying that Kean would be sacked. Wouldn't say how he knew. BUT I have been here before, samething happened a few weeks ago but nothing ended up happening, but what I will say is that on Saturday the owners eyes were well and truly opened, in particular by one fan (who is a member on here), he talked to them just before they left, he didn't rant or rave, but was passionate and firm with them. The brothers finally realised how angry fans were. The other thing from yesterday was that the likes of Venny weren't talking calls yesterday, which is unusal, normally they are only to happy to talk. Let's see what happens over the next 24 hours, but I am not going to get overly excited just yet.
Mattyblue Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Interesting Kamy, it just shows what a good job Kean, Agnew, even Anderson? have done in keeping the owners shielded from what is really going on. More fool the owners though.

Well I know where my money is going on next Rovers manager if and when he goes. Also whoever spoke to the owners stand up and take your praise, you deserve it.
T4E Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Agnew needs sacking too. He's clearly risked the whole future of the club, for what reason who knows. Public Relations? Relations between club and public have never been lower, and he's done f**k all about it.
Andy Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Are there any stragglers still in support of keeping Kean?!
John Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Agnew needs sacking too. He's clearly risked the whole future of the club, for what reason who knows. Public Relations? Relations between club and public have never been lower, and he's done f**k all about it. True, Agnew seems like a complete a**hole! He is pretty chummy with Kean by all accounts - this love in needs to be broken up asap.
brian_gallagher85 Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Are there any stragglers still in support of keeping Kean?! I think we both know that a deluded few still remain and are delighted that we did better there than last season and are over the moon that under Kean we have managed to win and draw more games than we have lost. The fact that we have lost around 49% of them is apparently totally lost on them.
arbitro Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Are there any stragglers still in support of keeping Kean?! There were plenty of Wigan fans chanting there's only one Keano on Saturday . This was around the time that the Kean out chants from us were at their most vocal. He must have Rhino skin for that not to affect him. Has anybody noticed recently how much more time he is spending at the edge of his technical area? It's almost like somebody has told him to do it such is the difference from a few weeks ago when he 'hid' in the confines of it.
alexanders Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Possible to know who talked to the owners ? I have my guess.
Kamy100 Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 I have now been able told by 2 different sources that Kean met the owners after the Chelsea v Liverpool game yesterday in London. Rumour is that he is about to be sacked, and put on "gardening leave" so that owners don't have to pay up all of his contract. I will stress that the only thing that I almost certain about is that there was a meeting yesterday after the game. What was discussed or what is about to happen are just rumours at the this stage.
alexanders Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Ive said to myself that Wigan away was the best place for the owners to visit. Away supporters are normally more vocal than we are at home and it did ensure that our owners understood that it wasnt only a 1% that wanted him gone. JJB / DW is becoming a graveyard for our managers
LeftWinger Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Brilliant that the Venky's were shocked at the fans reaction. I reckon this explains Kean's flights to India. He's been typing up his own league table and sticking it in the paper and taking it over. They actually think we are in the top 4! Probably why he wanted to buy Robbie Keane as well. So when the owners did come to games - and heard all the 'Kean Out' chants - he'd tell them they were shouting at Robbie.
Kendalrover Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 We have been here before so I am not getting too excited. Kean is only part of the problem. We also need an experienced Chairman and CEO in Blackburn who have the authority to make decisions without having to ring up Pune for sign off. It would also be nice to change the PR team and try to rebuild bridges with the fans.
Ralfinho Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Ive just been told by _786 that Kean is gone by the end of today, he said he has spoken to someone called Amit and also Balaji Rao. So fingers crossed and lets hope he is right

How stupid can Venkys be?-----buy a business with a turnover of over 50M, sack the people who were running it, hardly ever visit the place and rely on someone with a vested interest to fly out to you and update them! These are the sorts of people who buy the Eiffel Tower or London Bridge! Gives me no confidence for the future whether Kean goes or not. By the time they learn the error of their ways we'll be in the lower divisions.

I just hope that him leaving is one of a number of positive decisions over the next few weeks. Kean was probably telling Venky's that a CEO wasnt needed and because of their naivety I suspect they believed him/Jerome Anderson.

rog of the rovers Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Obviously I hope he goes, but its important, if he does leave, that we have someone in place ASAP and definitely by the Swansea home game!
John Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Obviously hope the rumours are correct, however Kean said his pre planned meeting with the owners, on Sunday, was over funding for the January transfer window (or perhaps his pay rise). Whilst the owners might have been “spooked” by the fans reaction on Saturday, not sure the combination of some verbal abuse and a draw would be enough for them to sack him – they have been fully behind Kean so far therefore probably would take a lot more for them to shift their position. You can just imagine Kean giving them verbal assurances during any face to face meeting too. Hope I am wrong, does seem to be a lot of chatter but we've been here too many times before.
beerwins Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Obviously I hope he goes, but its important, if he does leave, that we have someone in place ASAP and definitely by the Swansea home game! And somebody who is'nt an SEM client or nothing will change, We need experience both in a manager and somebody at the helm of the club. If they replaced him with someone like Ole Gunnar Solskjær who lacks experience or Sven who is just another yes man things probably would'nt change very much. Ancelotti, Mon or Hughes would give me the confidence to turn things round unfortunately I dont think Venky's would be able to land any of them.
2PAC 4 Blackburn Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Are any meetings taking place today then or was that a load of pony? I keep refreshing the page hoping to see the news were all waiting for, unfortunately Xmas will probably come sooner.
