chris Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Have we not already established this is because of the overdraft being paid? I think Nicko and a few other ITK confirmed this. If thats such a simple answer then why was it not addressed in the kamy interview? At the end of the day its never been offically said and pundits are saying Keans not been backed having sold the star player of 16.5 million plus add on, fans are still asking the question, I still feel made a fool of for trusting Kean when everyone else was saying we don;t still havev a big budget and we will spend less then we sold. Like I said, Kean can put it to bed, the people who are really ITK are Venkys and Kean. Kean's attitude to the fans can be addressed too, KEan wants to relate to the fans, through Glen I think he can find out the real issues and maybe with results going forward things will work out. I just think its a good thing and I'd respect Kean for it. Results more important ofcourse but this could build bridges.

Backroom Tom Posted September 18, 2011 Backroom Posted September 18, 2011 Got to disagree Philip I've Seen more good things wrote about the owners on here recently.
Tony Diamond Inc Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 I think Kean is being very badly advised by Paul Agnew to carry on this belittling of fans who are extremely unhappy with his managerial term. We have had three big (by BRFCS standards) polls with over 600 individual votes in each of them in which Kean received about 12% of the vote to delay the sacking- the other 88% wanting him out immediately. Even after the Arsenal result it is still going 66% sack now and 34% think about it/ sack later. In other words, Kean has recovered to Ince levels of unpopularity! This perpetul knocking of the fans will inevitably mean that when the crowd really turns, Kean will have made things much uglier for himself. The second big mistake Kean is making is his big hug with the Venky's. Even now after such a long series of Venky's balls ups the emphasis is on Kean out rather than outright hostility to the ownership. Needless to say, the tighter Kean has himself identified with the owners, the more they are getting sucked into Kean's unpopularity and the more discordant their relationship with the fans is likely to become. You're becoming a parody of yourself! Selective statistics, and negative propaganda.
Fylde Coast Fan Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Yesterday's freak result buys him a few games for me. If he's right and the new signings are bedding in nicely and the team is starting to improve - fair enough, since I have doubts about our ability to attract a good enough replacement.

Good point but I'm not sure many clubs owners would (nor let their team manager) discuss the club finances to such a detail in public. Granted if this explanation is confirmed as true it would make things a little easier in that sense.
Rover_Shaun Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Freak result. Lucky to win. Weak Arsenal side, blah blah. There's no pleasing some people. There seems to be a large section of supporters who will welcome Rovers wins through gritted teeth from now on. I'm no Kean fan but for once we won, so lets enjoy it and hope for more of the same.
Hi Mack Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Have we not already established this is because of the overdraft being paid? I think Nicko and a few other ITK confirmed this. I thought Kean came across well, as he always seems to. Maybe this is why he is so happy to fly to India all the time, he always seems so convincing... So if this was the case, why would Kean say we had a big budget? The facts are we spent less than we made. Clubs moving towards europe dont do this!
donnermeat Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 So if this was the case, why would Kean say we had a big budget? The facts are we spent less than we made. Clubs moving towards europe dont do this! Hell, I don't know. Circumstances change I suppose? Especially with the Venky's. I think us Rovers fans know that all too well after this transfer window, wouldn't you say?
BPF Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 So one game causes a huge swing in the vote. Not....surprised....at....all...

Two own goals isn't a freak result? I don't want to take anything away from the performance - Kean got the tactics right, bringing Olsson on was inspired, and the players worked hard to a man - but we had 3 shots on target and won 4-3. That won't happen often against anyone.
philipl Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 You're becoming a parody of yourself! Selective statistics, and negative propaganda. So Kean's statistics are right? So it is good that Kean disregards the very real anger of fans about him? I suggest you are the one peddling BS on here, not me.
brian_gallagher85 Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 So one game causes a huge swing in the vote. Not....surprised....at....all... It's a results business, he has 4 points from the last two games and rightly gets another few games for me. I'm looking forward to Newcastle away a lot more now as it'll be a proper test for him
ScottishRover Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Not sure if this has been posted anywhere. http://footballspeak.com/post/2011/09/18/10-reasons-why-Steve-Kean-should-be-sacked-as-Blackburn-Rovers-m.aspx

I suggest you are the one peddling BS on here, not me. Since the transfer window, and he has been able to select his own men, Steve Kean has; A 100% home record Unbeaten in all competitions Scoring an average of 2.5 goals per game Collected the same points tally from Craven Cottage as the high flying billionaires from Manchester. What a start!
Backroom Tom Posted September 18, 2011 Backroom Posted September 18, 2011 So one game causes a huge swing in the vote. Not....surprised....at....all... It's not to say people want him here but you really can't sack the manager on the back of a win. It's.........pretty.......simple......really....
Rover_Shaun Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 So.....are......we......all......talking.....like......darreners.....tonight.....?
philipl Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 You're becoming a parody of yourself! Selective statistics, and negative propaganda. Selective stats? Quoting the last four polls on the MB selective????
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Not voting as for me the win has bought him 3 more games but I'd be more than happy if he was sacked tomorrow.
47er Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 This thread has run its course and a new poll, while perhaps interesting, will have no significance on Planet Venky. Kean almost certainly wouldn't have been sacked if Arsenal had won by 5. He's their man and that's it. Doesn't matter what we think. Now he's got that dramatic victory in the bag he's safe for months. A disastrous run of results might see him under pressure but I, as a Rovers supporter, can only hope he doesn't have one. Protect that defence and stop pretending we're United and maybe we'll be OK. Actually, watch Utd Steve, they play attractive football but they protect their defence. Buy a defensive mid-fielder of quality in January even if it takes all your transfer money. Oh-----and start with Ollson on the left flank!
roversmum Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 So if this was the case, why would Kean say we had a big budget? The facts are we spent less than we made. Clubs moving towards europe dont do this! Look at the timing. The big budget was announced before the bank wanted to be paid. Not sure if this has been posted anywhere. http://footballspeak.com/post/2011/09/18/10-reasons-why-Steve-Kean-should-be-sacked-as-Blackburn-Rovers-m.aspx Most of those 'reasons' are being addressed.
Kamy100 Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Didn't realise Kamy was one of the organisers of the march? Can I just clear up that I was NOT one of the march organisers, for professional reasons not allowed to be part of this protest, have to maintain a neutral stance.
FourLaneBlue Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 It is obvious that Kean will not be sacked anytime soon, if bloody ever, and so now is not the time for us all to be arguing amongst ourselves. The team and club needs backing. Should there be any issues, we need to try keeping it in house. Mail the Venky's or the club. The protest march was necessary to show the unhappiness of many, and it has been acknowledged. I would be happy to see Kean sacked in the morning as I think Rovers deserve better than an absolute novice. However, we are stuck with him and, after four points in two games, let's see what he does for the next month or so. It is time we all started sticking together a bit more instead of fighting amongst ourselves. Whatever we might think of the owners or the manager. A divided team goes down quicker than any other.
Paul Mellelieu Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 We were very very lucky on Saturday, then Kean starts to attack supporters with his one per cent stuff. A few lads tried to get a pro-Steve Kean chant going at the back of the Riverside. It lasted about five seconds. If you think that we can go into games with the type of midfield we put out against Arsenal then gents you need to see a doctor.
