Here is one man who i can clearly say has a heart of gold and one who gave his all for our club, a man who always gave the fans something to cheer about and one who always no matter what had time for the fans (not like our current squad).

A true gent and a great goalkeeper to boot, good luck to him. :)

Probably showing my (lack of age here) but have any goalkeepers gone on to be successful managers?

I have a vague recollection of Shilton becoming a manager but not a success.

Good luck to Tim, as long as he's got a bit of bottle he's got every chance of being a decent manager ;)

better than brad imo but i'm sure others will think different.

see how he gets on at Northampton then get him over to rovers to replace kean, cant be any worse!

Very good keeper, great reactions, committed and courageous.....but not better than Brad!!!

unbelievably great keeper for us but still think about that goal against liverpool

Why not think about that game against Newcastle in the penultimate game of our Premiership winning season when he single handed kept us in the match? :)

Good luck to him but don't hold your breath.

Before arriving at Northampton, Flowers was in charge at Stafford Rangers. One win in 11 and was given the boot.

When my younger brother was about 7 or 8 my dad took us to watch his beloved Southampton training at their reserve ground, Staplewood. We all stood behind Tim Flowers goal while Matt Le Tissier took shots at him from say 30 yards out after the training session had finished. I will never forget Tim singing Mr Wendal by Arrested Development as the shots rained in. Le Tissier hit a shot which was going well wide and my brother took chase. Leaping like a salmon to catch the ball. It was hit so hard it took him with it into the fence behind the goal. Tim Flowers was over in a shot. A true gentleman. He made sure my brother was OK, signed his autograph book and even fielded some of my old mans questions. Proper footballer. Well goalkeeper anyway.

So many fond memories of times back then. At the same ground i recall Robert Fleck playing a reserve match against the saints for Norwich. Myself and our bunch of school friends spent 85 minutes calling him a fat bastar.... well you know where i'm going. He scored the winner 5 minutes from time and openly ran over to us all and called us a bunch of wayne kerrs. I was going to say that my friend threw a cornish pasty at him, but realised that was at Gordon Watson during a match at The Dell. Fair play to old Gordie, he picked it up and pretended to take a bite.

Dunno where i'm going with this now.. Probably nowhere. Just reminiscing about a better era of football. Before all these wretched takeovers. God i miss those times.

Loved Tim for his heroics while he was here but heard tonight on Talkshite that he is another one coming out and saying Kean is the man for Rovers! After seeing Tim's record at Stafford that might explain his misguided support for the deluded one...........

Why is it that ex Rovers players think Kean will turn it around ????

It is totally beyond my comprehension , he has no idea how to manage a football team be that Premier League or Blackburn Combination .

His record stands up with the worst in Premier League history !

because all ex-rovers are sicophants who just like bumming up to the club in hope they will get some kind of a job at rovers, after all, venkys will employ any old ######

Wasn't The Special One a goal keeper?

If you knew that both Flowers and Kean were clients of SEM, would it surprise you then that Flowers would say things in support of Kean.

It doesn't surprise me at all but I'm not quite sure just why. Maybe its a bit like the Masons where they all secretly help each other get jobs allegedly and 'revised' contracts. Who knows, maybe they even have their own funny handshakes and roll up their trouser legs.

Even if these players are "linked " in with keans puppet masters , why do they sprout ######? Are their goolies electrocuted till they are forced to chat venky?

I'm sick of all these ex rovers players giving it large !!!

Are we fans totally clueless ?
