When you joined Blackburn, you scored the second most number of goals to Drogba, Jose Mourinho then joined Chelsea and wanted to sign you. Do you regret not making that move to Chelsea under your former coach? - Herbert Themba MasheulaBM: It was my biggest regret in football not joining Mourinho at Chelsea because I would have formed an amazing partnership with Drogba at that time cause we were both in our prime and in fine goal scoring form. But things happen in life which you can’t change and I will have hate towards Blackburn Rovers for not letting me leave and join forces with Mourinho again. Who cares?
Rovers_Dan Posted November 25, 2011 Author Posted November 25, 2011 mourinho wouldnt of put up with a podger anyway.
USABlue Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 Plonker, I was not aware there was any official approach just rumours which turned his head and made him start eating pies. Does anyone recall an offer?
neekoy Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 There was a lot of paper talk but nothing firm ever came in, if he had never played for Porto it would have been a non story.
philipl Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 Benni was always a motor mouth- eating and speaking...

That's what I thought, people putting Jose and Benni and two and two together. So it seems he has now become delusional also. His head was deffo turned, if he'd have stayed focused he would have continued to be good but after the Chelsea stuff he was never the same.
steverovers Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 We hate benni - the fat lump of lard - what a waste!
Ozz Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 Supreme footballer but when you look where his career went from there you can see why he might be angry. Only got himself to blame though. Still one of my Rovers greatest players.
Rovers_Dan Posted November 25, 2011 Author Posted November 25, 2011 arsenal 1-0 cup tie win. benni running rings around senderos before firing a tremendous shot into the top corner. what a night that was!!! bring back those sort of nights!
brian_gallagher85 Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 I think Benni is starting to hate himself a little, he could have had it all before he even came to Ewood.
Backroom Tom Posted November 25, 2011 Backroom Posted November 25, 2011 No hard feelings here, fantastic to watch and I'm glad he was here
Hughesy Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 Classy goalscorer - shame he let himself go, only has himself to blame!
2PAC 4 Blackburn Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 I wonder what the West Ham fans think of him?!! Ha ha. Thanks for your time Benni now feck off fatty!
Ripleys love child Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 It was down to Hughes not rovers he didn't get the move and he did the same with bentley until he jumped ship to city.
Backroom DE. Posted November 25, 2011 Backroom Posted November 25, 2011 Benni never had the type of professional commitment to make it at a club of Chelsea's stature, that's why he joined us. The truth hurts, Benni, but don't hate.
LeChuck Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 I have hate towards Rovers for not cashing in on the fat illegitimate when we had the chance. One of Hughes' rare transfer market failings for me - imagine what he could have done money.
Shabani Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 This coming from a player who missed his home country's World Cup simple because he couln't get into some kind of reasonable shape. Pathetic
Jock Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 Its always somebody else at fault with fatso. What a whinger he is.Enjoyed the goal against Arsenal tho.
magicalmortensleftpeg Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 I have hate towards Rovers for not cashing in on the fat illegitimate when we had the chance. One of Hughes' rare transfer market failings for me - imagine what he could have done money. He scored around 20 goals in his first season. Sure, in hindsight, we should have sold him then, but for all we knew who could easily have scored another 20 the next season. For me, our front pairing of McCarthy and Santa Cruz in 07/08 was arguably one of the best strikforces in the division outside the top 3/4.
LeChuck Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 For me, our front pairing of McCarthy and Santa Cruz in 07/08 was arguably one of the best strikforces in the division outside the top 3/4. They were an awful pairing, I can't remember them having a good game together. Roberts was a more natural partner for both of them. Benni only scored 8 league goals that year, I'm not sure the rest of the division were very envious.
