Hughesy Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Another defeat at Stoke. Another bag of goals against, and finally a goal at the Britannia to break that part of the hoodoo. Poor performance, but who was your Man of the Match? Did anyone deserve the vote? Rochina for his nice goal? Lowe who coped well with Etherington? Or someone else Poll will close wednesday lunch - this is due to software restrictions.

Lurid Coat Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Who cares? We got spanked by a Stoke in horrible form, and are nailed on to get relegated. Kean and Venky's out!
Brfcrule1 Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Rochina was our most creative player today and the goal was a good one I thought Lowe & Dann are slowly improving but most of them were total garbage.
AllRoverAsia Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Halsey would have got it but he didn't book anybody so it goes to whomever it was who let go of those bin-bags - great TV The whole Rovers team & management should donate their pay to Charity (not in Pune!)
philipl Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 The Rovers fans' protests were Man of the Match. Go on Hughesy, you vote for all the players yourself and give Kean a hug while you are at it.
Kendalrover Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Mark Halsey for not sending Nzonzi off when he elbowed Shawcross after 10 minutes
Drover Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Considering that hoilett and formica were completely ineffective today around him I actually thought Yakubu didn't do so badly. He had a few brilliant first touches and held the ball up well at times. I don't think its harsh to say that Dann was shocking today.
bluefred Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 hoilett was ###### . loks like he couldnt give a fu@k now.
Doogs Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 MAN OF THE MATCH ALL THEM ROVERS FANS WHO WERE DAFT ENOUGH TO GO.
dwayne cage Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Man of the match for me has to be the Yak i thought Rochina in the first half was woeful and tried to do everything himself. Yakubu i dfidnt think was a goal threat but his hold up play was the best on the pitch and his passing was probably the best out of our team too. Rochina picked up in the second half but overall Peds, Yak, Roc and Lowe was about the only players who tried to do stuff.
savage90 Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Yakubu and Rochina were the only two who showed up, really dissapointed with Pedersen, Hanley and Givet (Although out of position) today. Hanley was unbelievably soft for Stokes 3rd goal, it was his header to win - Clearly not a premiership defender. In fact he's crap. Givet also cost us goals as per playing at full back. No challenge on Etherington to stop the cross for the second and should've been infront of Delap on the free kick, really poor play and costly, no excuses! But yet again the main error is the management. I noticed at one point we could have moved forward late on, instead Lowe played it back to Robinson who sliced it out of play. Kean was also in the picture at this point, but he turned away with his head down and walked towards the dugout. Allardyce expected a lot from Robinson and his distribution. I'm pretty sure he would have gone ballistic at him and many of the other players on that pitch today. My main problem with Steve Kean is that he appears to have made losing acceptable.
Drover Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 For a player thats come through the barcelona youth system Rochina loses possession very frequently. Yes he has the ability to be a match-winner but at what cost I wonder sometimes.
Hughesy Posted November 26, 2011 Author Posted November 26, 2011 The Rovers fans' protests were Man of the Match. Go on Hughesy, you vote for all the players yourself and give Kean a hug while you are at it. Dont worry Phil iv seen the £100m in a bank account, we can get Alonso with it as he has nowhere else to go. Oh and United just went bust too, after failing to finish in the top 4. The only reason this thread was set up, is so BRFCS can give its own Man of the season award out....we have played worse and voted, its just for consistency!

What's with the Hughesy hatred Phillip? He made a valid post in the Stoke thread which is his right but does he deserve to be hounded? At least he ain't giving us body language or symbology lessons (gentle ribbing Phillip don't mean anything by it
finndaloo Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 For a player thats come through the barcelona youth system Rochina loses possession very frequently. Yes he has the ability to be a match-winner but at what cost I wonder sometimes. Nailed on
he6rt6gr6m Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Rochina?? Ha. I laughed. He was so inconsistent, it wasn't even funny. Reminds me so much of Pedersen, but has the potential to be so much better. Yak was MotM for us. I'd have said Pennant for Stoke, and the game.
perthblue02 Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 For me Yakubu was consistant for the full 90 minutes, he held up play well (IMO he doesn't get enough credit for his hold up play) on his own up front for the majority of the game and very rarely wasted a pass . Despite being on his own up there he was a pain for the Stoke defence. Would love to have seen this bloke in a Rovers shirt 3 or 4 years ago. Rochina is still learning but there is talent there, under a decent manager he would become a class player, so think we are not going to see the best of him.
