Some real blasts from the past there, I can't say I'm surprised to see Neill is scraping the barrel for on last fat paycheck in the UAE! Other surprise include Derbyshire playing on loan at Oldham, Jeffers plying his trade on Malta and the once hyped Jemal Johnson now playing somewhere called Tamworth...

Carlos Villanueva is still at Al Shabab, surprisingly only played 20 odd games in 3 years, still a little disappointed he didn't get another year with us as although a bit lightweight and maybe too much of a luxury he showed glimpses of his talent and perhaps may have adapted over time.

I still think of him as King Carlos even if he did next to nothing lol.

He is not starting.

Yelldell did play for Leverkusen against Barcelona in the Champions League last year, I bet no one saw that coming when he was third choice behind Friedel and Enckelman a couple of years ago. It's also surprising to see that Villanueva hasn't played much at his new club, I thought someone with his technical ability would be unplayable at such a low level.

  • 1 year later...

Jason Roberts has announced his immediate retirement due to injury.

Although not the greatest striker he was a loyal servant and always gave 100% and was at the club during one of our greatest periods, UEFA Cup games, FA Cup semi-finals, top 10 PL finishes etc, not bad for a guy who started at clubs like Torquay, Bristol Rovers etc.

  • Backroom

Surprised to find out Zurab Khizanishvili is at Kayerispor! Still at an ok level of football. Think he was unfortunate to find himself at the club while Nelsen and Samba were around. He was a damned good back up player imo and would otherwise have been in the first team.

Best to play that second half of Layla by Eric Clapton now Goodfellas fans...

Bruno Ribeiro has gone back to driving taxis

Harold Goulon is a mere three fights away from meeting Wladimir Klitschko

Steve Kean is incredibly still at large and manager of the George & Dragon football team (not the pub), somewhere in Brunei

Mauro Formica has gone back to being the Argentinian Paul Calf

Jerome Anderson occasionally turns up on TalkSport when not crying

Myles Anderson is taking his time and developing late, he clearly has the potential to be the next Ryan Giggs

Danny Murphy retired from football after leaving Fulham. Funnily enough he occasionally appears on TalkSport

Dixon Etuhu soldiers on and can't quite believe his luck, he now has the same squad number as Vincenzo Grella

Radosav Petrovic was so inept and forgettable that even he doesn't know what he does now

The "untapped market" of Portugal - the Portugeezer six, are quite possibly all still receiving payment from the club / Venkys

Paul Agnew has, thankfully, vanished

As has Shebby "yes, it appears I am a real person and not a comedy character" Singh

So has any remnants of The Walker Trust

The Venkys have also gone very quiet - probably confused

and finally, Derek "out of control" Shaw remains in place to this very day.....

I see Tom Hitchcock scored a hatrick for Rotherham Utd today. He is on loan to them from QPR.

We dispensed with his services in Feb 2012.

Think he went at same time his dad joined Mark Hughes at QPR.
