RockinRover Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Which basically means Sam Allardyce, the Rodney to Harry Rednapp's Del Boy is expecting to sign him for free once we terminate his contract.

owenrilla Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Oh yes he can !!! Many incorrectly think you can't but here's the proof !!! http://www.inbrief.co.uk/football-law/footballers-transfer-in-season.htm Not according to the document on FIFA's website: 3. Players may be registered with a maximum of three clubs during one season. During this period, the player is only eligible to play offi cial matches for two clubs. As an exception to this rule, a player moving between two clubs belonging to associations with overlapping seasons (i.e. start of the season in summer/autumn as opposed to winter/spring) may be eligible to play in offi cial matches for a third club during the relevant season, provided he has fully complied with his contractual obligations towards his previous clubs. Equally, the provisions relating to the registration periods (article 6) as well as to the minimum length of a contract (article 18 paragraph 2) must be respected. http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/affederation/administration/01/95/83/85//regulationsstatusandtransfer_e.pdf
Backroom Tom Posted January 31, 2013 Author Backroom Posted January 31, 2013 Great I can imagine that may put an end to a few incomings and we are stuck with him
AdamRochina Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 jerome thomas deal isnt happening anymore according to twitter ect.
chaddyrovers Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 So, Jerome Thomas - Alex Baptiste and DJ Campbell are the 3 in ? I just came home from work and need the latest update would be 3 good signings for us. hope it happens There will be a midfeld signing... who please??? Could Fulham move for Robbo or will Rovers try to agree a pay off for him to become a free agent?
Lurid Coat Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 jerome thomas deal isnt happening anymore according to twitter ect. Oh FFS. If this is due to Robinson demanding a huge payoff, I'll be livid. He's let himself go, and should be happy that West Ham actually wants him
RockinRover Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Don't hate on Robbo when you don't know the story. Hate Rovers fans sometimes. The man's been a fantastic servant for us.
AdamRochina Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 cryer tweeted about it, and nothing to do with robbo, it was to do with holliete/odimwingie. plus few baggies been told jerome staying put - edit
bypass06 Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 @CryerRovers West Brom reporter @chrislepkowski reporting Thomas deal possibly affected by the Hoilett/Odemwingie saga #LTtransfers
Backroom Tom Posted January 31, 2013 Author Backroom Posted January 31, 2013 Don't hate on Robbo when you don't know the story. Hate Rovers fans sometimes. The man's been a fantastic servant for us. How so? In the sense that he's been here a while and been paid to do a job he hasn't done particularly well but waved to fans now as then? Strong kicking skills but even that went downhill this season

Please not that I put an "if" in there, as it's been rumoured that he's demanding to have his contract paid off by Rovers. Yes, he's been a great servant for us, but that doesn't mean I condone his letting himself go and potentially demanding a king's ransom to leave.

Strong kicking skills but even that went downhill this season He's done everything we've asked of him since he's been with us. He's shared a great relationship with the fans and he's often kept us from losing points in previous seasons.
chaddyrovers Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 ssn is saying Peter Odenwingie is not going to QPR now
RockinRover Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 So wait it's RUMOURED that Robbo isn't leaving because he's demanding a pay off so we're all just forgetting what a good player he's been for us?
Backroom Tom Posted January 31, 2013 Author Backroom Posted January 31, 2013 Harsh. Robbo has been a fine GK for us. Yes he's been fine for the most part and great instinct saves but he's prone to errors, weak in the air, poor on shots from distance and had the worst shots to goals conceded ratio in the league a year or two back. Always liked the guy I just don't understand where this 'great servant' stuff comes from
LeChuck Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Don't hate on Robbo when you don't know the storyThe story is that he's been rubbish and was dropped for, and subsequently out-performed by, a rookie goalkeeper. Obviously has no ambition left as a professional if he's happy to sit on our bench for six months rather than go back to the PL.
jones_rover Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Hopefully we can tie up Jerome Thomas now then!

Obviously has no ambition left as a professional if he's happy to sit on our bench for six months rather than go back to the PL. It would appear this is the case, if he wants his contract paying out.
RockinRover Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 The fact is apart from the ITKers on this forum no one actually knows what's going on with Robbo so don't pretend to know it all and have him hung drawn and quartered based on the fact you've heard a rumour. I agree that he's let us down this season but in the past he's been brilliant, let's not forget that.
LeChuck Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Hopefully we can tie up Jerome Thomas now then! Odemwingie was going to include Hoilett in the other direction, so that deal being off scuppers our chances of Thomas. The loan window is still open after today so it's the be all and end all to get players in today. Robinson and Vukcevic not moving on will really have thrown a spanner in the works.
RibbleValleyRover Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 The story is that he's been rubbish and was dropped for, and subsequently out-performed by, a rookie goalkeeper. Obviously has no ambition left as a professional if he's happy to sit on our bench for six months rather than go back to the PL. He was unsettled in the first place because of actions carried out by Rovers. Rovers tried to bring in Friedel as a player/coach to replace both Robbo and Mimms (I wonder who came up with that idea in the first place, Spurs fan with a mustache by any chance?).
jones_rover Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 But if Odemwingie is staying surely that allows us to get Jermoe Thomas?
