Sounds like you want to keep Rovers in the championship.

why????

I want Rovers to be challenging for promotion this season.

But I'm willing to trust Bowyer judgement on signings and judge them on their performances for us.

Looking forward to seeing the way Bowyer will set Rovers up with formation and style of play aswell. going to some of the friendlies at Preston, Rochdale and home game at Home against Everton.

I think Taylor will be one of the signings of the season for the Championship

Adomah would be a great signing. I love how much of a WUM Jal is haha.

We don't need Gallagher we have already 18 players we can do without with in Robbo, Orr, Ribiero, Givet, Martin+Marcus O, Formica, Goodwillie, Henrique, Jorge, Edinho, Gomes, Murphy, Rosado, Pedersen, Slew, and even maybe Etuhu.

I probably agree with most of those players. maybe keep Etuhu and Pedersen. but we could save at least 250k on wages a week if we could get rid of them all. with bringing in players like Luke Murphy.

don't a problem with Gallagher coming in as a back up to Taylor/King/Judge.

KIng has got pace on the wing.

But if we need another pacey winger when not bid for Bristol City Adomah? supposedly on his way to Wigan according to Nixon. think Fee is 1 million pounds.

Judge would prefer to play in field ideally, King is very inconsistent and our only pacy outlet and Taylor we don't know if he will be a sub or starter, I would like a pacy winger or maybe striker, Adomah would be ideal.

Gallagher will add to the clutter, and isn't someone to challenge for the play offs.

Based on what?

Not having a go. I'm just curious as to the faith you have in him based on so little previous.

You want Rovers to be challenging for promotion and then mention a load of league one players to do it.

This will be one truly unbelievable achievement if it actually happened from a squad that more or less just survived last season.

Jal got one question....You say you want EPL signings....But based on this season in which that experiment has failed why would you still want us to sign EPL players??? I mean who in your eyes realistically would be a good signing???

Furthermore in regards to league one signings, do you rate Jordan Rhodes? If you do then your a hypocrite for the simple reason that he was a league one player the year before we signed him, which makes your statements void.

Ditto Williamson whose last club was Portsmouth. He's turned out a pretty good box-to-box for us at this level.

How many goals and assists for Rovers was it from Williamson please.

Maybe he wasn't in that sort of role. I don't know. Right JAL, which Premier League players should we go for then? And how shall we fund them?

Bless. the nuances of the beautiful game seem to pass you by don't they? Or you're just a WUM? Either way, it's not looking good.

That bloody David Batty, he never jinked his way down the wing, beat 6 men and then backheeled it in from 40yrds. Useless tw*t.

Once again Jal I refer to my previous comment. I can see that you are very selective in regards to the comments that you write. Which leads me to believe either you are just another internet Troll, or just someone who hides when they are put on the spot.

None, one and a shedload of tackles. You know that bombing up the pitch is useful even if your passes don't directly lead to assists, right?

Do you have nothing that gets you up in the morning as you seem rather miserable about most things Rovers despite the positive steps being taken. Unless you'd prefer Kean to come back and extend Murphy/Etuhu's contract by several years?

Come on Jal, play fair lol. Do you really expect a holding midfielder to score a shed load of goals. How many have Tom huddlestone and Scott Parker scored??

It's not his job to score goals.

For what it's worth I have no idea if any of the new signings will come good. Nobody does.

As others have said though, I'm willing to go with Bowyers judgement. He's been around football for a long time. Took our reserves to the reserve league final and will know a lot of the young players from all of the teams. I'd rather be linked to young hungry players than the likes of murphy.

nothing to do with the 5 managers, 3 of which were hopeless, the constant chopping and changing and uncertainty throughout the whole club then?

Plus every manager after Kean being hindered by his joke of a pre-season.

So it all boils down to 'hoping' Bowyer can cut it and that his judgement is as good as it was for the reserves, now it really matters and the pressure is on?

I suppose thats all we can do until Venkys leave and we once again get proper managers

Championship club have had a 1m bid for Luke Murphy accepted, expected to sign today - is it us?

Thats all supporters of any club can do. You don't think Everton fans have got their fingers crossed that Martinez can cut it? Christ even under John Williams we appointed Ince and dear old Jack made a few mistakes when it came to managerial appointments. Bowyer did a decent job last year and deserved a chance. The trouble is that too many Rovers fans think we have a divine right to be in the promotion mix. The sooner people grasp the fact that the club has been raped and pillaged and is quite frankly a shell of its former self the better. The quick fix is extremely unlikey. What is more likely is a good few years at this level now. As such stability is needed and Bowyer offers that. Its no coincidence that we're shopping in the bargain buckets. The cloth cutting is well under way and its about time we got used to that. All things considered I don't believe we could have signed any better from the out of contract / freebie section of the market. Will they spur us on to promotion? Doubtful. Will they play with heart and desire. Hopefully. And there we go, full circle and back to the 'hope' word again. Something the club hasnt had a sniff of in 3 years until now. Imo of course.

Though I agree we need to reduce the number of players on the staff - there is one important aspect of the new financial fair play regulations which mean we have this season to get promoted or then vastly reduce our wage bill. Also not certain what they will make of losses we made last season and the next - as the losses appear for a season not existing debt :-

"Sanctions

Failure to stay within the defined limits will lead to the imposition of sanctions. However, there will be no sanctions implemented during the first two seasons (2012/13 and 2013/14) in order to give clubs a sensible period of transition."

.... but this is supposed to be a business and piling extra expense on a business that is losing £2M a month can only lead to 1 outcome, financial fair play or no financial fair play.

Is there any source for this £2 million figure? Don't forget we let a lot of expensive loan players go in the summer, our wage bill won't be as high as it was.

Next summer we can get rid of Pedersen, Murphy, Givet, Robinson, Dunn, Gomes and Orr. That will be a MASSIVE amount off the wage bill - more than most Championship clubs pay for their entire squad. It wouldn't really weaken the team either given that all are substitutes at best.

If the chance is there to sign Luke Murphy then we have to take it. He'll only grow in value and the wages will be under control in 12 months.
