I will be voting for the tories party.

I want lower taxes and keep more of the wages that I have earned each week.

We need to keep on the same economy plan we are on. Been the right plan for the last 4 and half years. But over 100 business leaders in the country have supported the Tories

Changing government now would clearly set up back years by spending more money than we have coming in, Higher taxes and spending more on welfare.

Are you George Osborne?

Could answer a few questions....

I've not met anyone who goes to a food bank, has anyone on here....it's a myth. Best idea, get a decent education, then work hard to get a good job and then work harder when you have that good job....there is no other way. Labour will turn us back to a country of benefits and laziness. Money for nothing, top ups all around. Let's bring the poor up to the level of the ones who managed to work hard at school....5 bedroom detached houses worth 350k being used to house feckless families on a career of well timed pregnancies to maximise the benefit system until they retire....a feckin joke that Labour Party.

And now we have Farage.

Its a real shame that people beleive the myths, and don't educate themselves to the facts.

At this moment not one of the parties have actually spelled out their economic plans, the tories have a black hole in spending cuts they wont divulge, UKIP are "broadly in favour" (how can you be in favour of something you dont know) of the conservative plans without divulging their own, and Labour are unwilling to say how they would change taxation to meet their plans. Yet "serious" political programming like question time has had 2 questions in 2 weeks about Jeremy Clarkson, endless questions on immigration, and wont press anyone on anything.

Tomorrow nights tv debate will be pointless as there are 7 candidates and they all get a 2 minute slot to begin with to set out their vision, then I believe its a round-robin of questions. I cant see anything useful coming out of that whatsoever.

You're joking right?

Try these 2 links, and yes I've met plenty of people who have used food banks because of the job I'm in.

http://theshuttle.org.uk/carl-fogarty-opens-blackburn-foodbanks-new-home/

http://www.trusselltrust.org/foodbank-figures-top-900000

I'm not saying Labour will be much better, but its disgusting in this day and age that people have to rely on food banks, almost as disgusting as people saying they don't exist!

Food banks are a load of @#/? cos if people want to buy staples then stay away from supermarkets because everywhere else they are bloody cheap! If there is a real need for food banks heaven forbid then food banks should be restricted to real, healthy and basic food e.g. 25kg bags of potatoes, carrots, onions, swedes, cabbage etc .trays of baked beans, trays of small or XL eggs, cooking oil, bags of pasta and rice, salt and tins of sardines / mince etc to supply a good protein balance.

You make a good point, but sadly food banks rely on donations in the main so you get what you're given.

They have spelt it out very clearly: mansion taxes, rise in corporate tax and reinstatement of the 50p rate, plus a continuing clampdown on tax evaders and a reduction in the number of tax avoidance schemes. All sensible measures to make the wealthy share the burden of getting the public finances back in order, rebuilding the NHS and boosting police and armed forces numbers after draconian cuts over the past 5 years.

My god daughter had a great life, 3 kids, lots of love, until two years ago.

All kids under 12 one was 4 and the DWP said she needed to find a job.

Result? After 3 months in the job, missing her kids..............

http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/announcements/deaths/deaths/11445658.Samantha_Logan/

She hanged herself at 35.

If that makes you feel good, vote @#/? tory

Been reading The Sun again? Murdoch and Nixon will melt your brain ;)

when the Tories came in the national debt was £800m. It's now £1.5bn. The Tories run economies like Venky's run football clubs.

18 of the 100 Business leaders who signed the letter to the Torygraph have received MBE's, OBE's etc in the last 5 years. It's not surprising they've signed the letter, Cameron has called in his favours. Also a few tax dodgers in the 100 and a few Tory donors... and the odd Tory Lord too.

So effectively that policy is designed to punish the most successful and the hardest workers amongst society..... Oh and any women who happen to have lived in a nice house in Central London all their married lives and have lost their husbands. Labour targetting yet another minority in elderly widows. Does your lot have no shame?

It would probably help if corporations actually paid their fair share in general, though they'll probably be told of a nice little loophole....

I'd wager these are just the tip of the iceberg as well, my favourite part was 'Starbucks agreeing to pay back some corporation tax', that's nice of them.....

I shouldn't rise to your baits but your nonsense knows no bounds.

It's a ridiculous notion that rich people are the "hardest workers" - as ridiculous as say poor people are shirkers. People at the bottom end of society work hard too - mostly for little reward. Anyone who gets rich by staring at the wallpaper should be taxed to the hilt - in effect, they've done nothing to earn it. Have your lot no shame in punishing the poor while giving tax breaks to millionaires ?

In Jim's world it is.

As I said yesterday on another thread ... a person who earns £120k pa will in one year pay more in tax than a person earning £15k pa will do in his entire working life. Is that fair Jim? K-Hod? Anybody? If so how?

I've already told you I thought that was unfair Gordon!

Thenodrog I think you'll find the figure is actually just short of £140k but I see your point.

That presumes a working life of 18-65.

You are right of course, that is why Labour sorted it all out the last time they were in Government.

How many people in Blackburn earn 120k a year? or are we back in that Pleasington bubble again?

The average wage in the UK is around 30k.

If you're lucky enough to earn 120k a year you should pay more tax, you can aford it, simple as that.

I have to say it's far, simply because we've got public services to run for everyone in society. I've always believed that the more well off have a moral duty to look after those that are less well.

Look at it from another perspective. Would the man on £120k a year be as well off, if he wasn't paying say 40%, and instead about 30%? I don't think he would. People who are paid in the public sector, put money into the private sector with their wages. If teachers and nurses aren't decently paid, neither are those at the top of the tree.

On another note, it's the leaders' debate tonight. How on earth it's going to work with all those 7 leaders is beyond me! I'm hopeful though that one of the leaders will 'Wow' me into making a definite choice.

The last school I worked at was full of kids who went to a food bank. All very sad considering they thought it was a normal part of life sometimes. These were kids with parents who worked too.
