Absurdly good ball in from Morton

Peak Morton.

Costs us a goal and precedes to lose the midfield for 50 minutes but puts in one good ball so everyone forgets all the crap.

Lives a charmed life that lad.

He was ok at Ewood, no doubt improved the following year at Hull, but that losing possession and feigning injury at Bramall Lane, that led them to that Doyle screamer at the death, was a very bitter pill. All he had to do was to make sure the ball was in touch before dropping like to the turf like he had been shot.

The Burnley CB has had more of an impact in CM than Morton has.

I hold grudges. He was awful for us and has been awful today too.

Stansfield NOWHERE NEAR good enough.  Can't hold the ball up.  Doesn't run

I bet Fulham couldn't believe their luck when Birmingham offered £12m+.

This Rowe lad is twice the player.

Quansah awesome 9/10 performance. We rode our luck at the end with the one off the bar. I never like to see a team defending the 6 yard box for 15 minutes. Anything can happen but we got away with it. Well done boys.

Brilliant that they won it. What a good header by Rowe.

Delighted for Carsley and those players.

Come on England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Elliott Anderson should be in that next England squad along with Tino Livramento

I think it is partly due to the age cut out where you have 23 year olds playing, but its strange in that very few of those players I look at and expect many if any caps in the senior team. Our stand outs at those ages have already bypassed this age group.

Livramento should get a decent amount of caps but even then, Trent is ahead. Elliott has a lot of competition and he is stand out for the under 21s. One or two others might such as Anderson, but equally the likes of Stansfield, Beadle and Cresswell would do well to get any caps.

Anderson and Livramento should be in the next squad. As should Lewis Hall.

Also Cresswell and Quansah will get England call ups. Both set for good moves this from reports

I don’t think Cresswell is at that level yet but going off last nights Quansah could well be. Him and Anderson were the stand outs for me. I was disapointed with McAtee, he’s not in the game enough in my opinion. He hardly had a kick in the second half. The same applies to Elliot but he looked to be suffering from the after effects of the knee slide against the Dutch. He had huge ice pack on it when he came off. Stupid thing to do.

Scott was looking decent until he got fouled out of the game. Livramento ? Is he a right back ? I thought he favoured the left side. The guy actually playing at left back reminded me of Pickering, steady but lacking pace.

Yes, right footed, right back, although has played left back on occasions (from memory mainly when Tripper has played right back)

Livramento is a natural a right back who played sometimes at left back.

Hinshelwood who played left back is centre midfielder by trade.

Cresswell is being linked with PL clubs today.

Quansah is off to Bayer Leverkusen

Hinshelwood looked like a midfielder playing fullback.Fair play to him for playing in an unaccustomed position.

Regarding Cresswell, he’s a very good stopper style centre half but I’m not sure he has the ball playing ability top Premier League clubs like in their centre halves. It’ ll be interesting to see if he signs for one.

Quansah is a class act,  if Liverpool had any sense they’d be holding on to him.

I'd like to see Cresswell stay abroad

Quansah reminds of Ferdinand.  Good ball playing centreback

I appreciate that players were missing, like Delap, but only 4 of the starting England U21 side were from a top 5 side. Of those four, Quansah and Harvey Elliott might be dropping down a bit soon (albeit both possibly still at Champions League level).

A sign that these young English players are finding it hard to make the grade at the very top of the Premier League? Though, perhaps, that is part of their strength, with more humility and desire to work together.
