Steady on  you'll get accused of being '"special" or an "attention seeker".

The reason people presumably reacted so negatively because of the cryptic nature of your rumour, which required a couple of pages of questions before it came to pass.

Do you have a source or a screenshot/post that you can show, assuming it is from social media?

To be fair Carvalhal seemingly turned us down because he wanted to bring his entire team in.

Hearing there's a possibility Sunderland fans might soon be very happy and we'll soon be very upset.

I’ve heard the same think jpvh won’t look as good in stripes

I did think twice about posting to be honest, I wanted to make it very clear it was just a whisper I’d heard. Rumours people want to hear tend to be a really well received on here compared to those people don’t want to be true!

I’ve heard this as well it’s a different source to yours so it’s got legs

Fair enough. If you choose to believe and judge baseless rumours, adding on speculated rumoured bids for players we didn't sign etc, then you seemingly will be with the majority on here, but I will continue to judge the owners on what is spent, not on what apparently could have been but wasn't.

I believe the last bit about loans, no idea on whether they were "very good," I presume you know the names? Connolly and Forss were linked, neither of which could be described as such.

Venky's want Premier League football. Several Indian consortiums have looked at clubs in the past year including Chelsea and Leeds. The amount of abuse, mocking etc if that happens in Indian media for them will be huge. Only way to stop that is if we go up or look like we will.

Also in the past 2 seasons we've spent close to £10m on loans so not a trivial amount as you seem to think.

Yes I do, and no I can't show it because I would rather that source remained confidential.

It really isn't worth sharing anything you hear on here. There's never any cast iron guarantee it will come to pass but you never get any acknowledgement or recognition for breaking it first if it turns out to be correct, only pelters if it doesn't.

He actually confirmed who the player was whereas you was having everyone play a game of transfer guess who. If you had originally said I've heard van hecke could be off to Sunderland then we would have avoided all of this. Instead you wanted everyone to list off every player we have been linked with

People tend to assume loans are more or less free whereas the reality is for anyone half decent it's likely to be a loan fee of at least £1m p.a. plus £10k p.w. in wages.

And yet despite being in the top 2 in January they spent a couple of hundred grand and let Mowbray take us on another death spiral before stinking the place out with his behaviour in the last 10 games.

Could have fooled me.

Maybe true. And brings £0 financial return to the club. Which begs the question why we keep on doing it rather than investing in players on permanent deals that will deliver us a financial return

The money (for fees)  was there!

Just as it is now. Presumably we are struggling to get people in because of the self imposed wage structure.

Probably why he couldn't get them on the phone when he wanted a contract extension in the Spring.

So we have to miss out on quality players, gamble the season away and 'guarantee' a 17 year old first team football to try to persuade him to stay?

Get rid if that's the case.

I wouldn't have thought JPVH going elsewhere (if it happens) is linked to Phillips.

Phillips hasn't even committed to us yet either.

Dunno why you care what they think Rev

You are replying to a guy who puts “seemingly” in front of everything he posts. Presumably (😃) to give himself plausible deniability when it doesn’t happen or isn’t true

Keep posting, the more rumours the better, it’s not like the press bother much with us!

You need to calm down a bit fella ...he shared a bit of info and you were all over him like a cheap suit.

I've no issue with people sharing stuff and no issue with them not revealing sources just because you had a paddy and stamped your feet like a petulant child.

If they want PL football, why did they not strengthen in January, remove TM during the death spiralas would have happened anywhere else or hired a proven manager this season.

They put a new system in place and did hire a good manager for this season.

Their issue is if they like you they are very loyal.

I think it's unarguable that Mowbray was allowed to outstay his welcome. He should have gone after the 2020-21 season when the signings he was allowed to make suggest that was a 'going for it' season and we all know how that turned out.

So their loyalty comes before their wish to get promoted then. So they don't really want to get promoted because if they did they would stop at nothing to do it. Including removing a manager who was delivering relegation form and stinking the club out from February onwards.
