The idea of him leaving Palace just now for a big fee is bittersweet. Good for him if he goes to play at the very top, to add to his cup winners medal.  However, if we have a decent sell-on clause, I don't want the money to go to our current owners who will waste it or pocket it.

I really hope he goes abroad. Become a Barca legend - the way he plays is just perfect for them. He genuinely could be the Busquets type they've been looking for.

I can't see him moving in this window...

Palace have already had to sell lots of players, so they aren't desperate, so even if Wharton was keen to explore options (I can't see him demanding  move, not his style) they would probably price him out of a move (for now) - plus with the terrible run Palace are on, he has hardly been in the 'shop window'.
