Mashed Potatoes Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Just now, Hasta said: United have just got fortunate with opposition red cards in the last couple of games. Lyon would have beaten them with 11, and should still have beaten them with 10 but for a spectacular collapse. Bilbao went down to 10 and fell apart. Loving the implication that United have been regularly embarrassing themselves in the league infront of 70,000 paying home supporters, and getting dumped out of the cup at home to Fulham, just to concentrate on the Europa League. Spurs could still screw up an all Premier League final, but if it happens I’m not sure who I’d want to win. Probably Spurs, but I do like these supposed ‘giant’ clubs not winning things for years and years. Spurs have not won anything for donkeys years but United have won trophies in each of the last two seasons Quote

Same reason I wanted Liverpool to beat Newcastle in the League Cup final. Edited 23 hours ago by Hasta Quote

1874 Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago (edited) I wanted Bilbao to win it as they used to play in old Rovers kits (As did Athletico Madrid) Edited 23 hours ago by 1874 1 Quote
roversfan99 Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago The Europa League quality wise has suffered from the new format meaning that Champions League drop outs dont enter. That being said, I think the new format has been far more successful than I anticipated. I'm not having that you can dismiss Spurs' pathetic league season as purely down to injuries. Although some of those injuries were self inflicted anyway with Ange rushing them back. To be 16th means he is incredibly lucky that Levy presumably is too tight to pay out his contract. His tactical approach and naivety not adjusting to those injuries has been ridiculous, there is more than enough quality to still be far, far higher than 2 places above the drop zone. Quote
chaddyrovers Posted 20 hours ago Author Posted 20 hours ago Surely the Europa League is actually a better competition without knock out champions league teams and surely when you been knock out that's it for European competitions for the season? Why would sack a manager/head coach when you win a trophy and that's what fans want? Do you think Wigan regrets winning the FA Cup but going down? I bet most don't Quote

I bet most don't I never said it was better or worse for the changes, beside saying that the new format has been a success. I would probably personally agree that if you are out, you are out. But naturally, the quality drops in the Europa League because often the drop outs were strong teams. Ange should have been sacked long ago, their overall season has been pathetic. Its a big if in terms of the Europa League but of course that would change the perception but I still think theyd be better off getting rid. The Wigan comparison is incomparable really. Quote

How you been knock out of one competition enter another one? All about favour the biggest league clubs yet again. Surely it's about fairness first before quality 56 minutes ago, roversfan99 said: Ange should have been sacked long ago, their overall season has been pathetic. He wins a trophy and get a Champions League place yet you sack him, bizarre. Spurs haven't won a trophy for years but you deliver what the fans want a trophy. Quote
Ricky Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago It may have been mentioned but could we potentially have 6 teams in the champions league next season if spurs or united win the europa? That’s edging ever closer to a European super league. The new format is very much heading that way. It was always going to happen. Quote

Whilst Villa were still in the champions league it could have been seven. 1 Quote
