Another sad part in an overwhelmingly long and sad chapter of BRFC.

As far as managers under Venkys go, Ismael suffers the ignominy of being of the worst coaches we have had, second only to Steve bloody Kean.

Never got on board with Val. Struggled to like him through his conferences, struggled to like his football and I honestly believe his mentality of 'hard running' has meant that our young and inexperienced squad have been ran in to the ground repeatedly, thus leading to a season struck by injury after injury.

Im surprised John Pickering's record is so bad - I remember him quite fondly and the crowd were all on the pitch chanting his name on the final home game when we were relegated.

Venky FC has a loooooooooong way to go before they achieve anything even slightly resembling mediocrity.

There'll be no 'take' from Val just like the rest.

He was happy going along with it up until something gave the other day, quite possibly the hearing of other potential names being banded about i'e Tony Mowbray.

He's a Frenchman and his ego might have been rattled with that so he's decided to bail before he was pushed. In future he can always say it was a disagreement over transfers and not he was sacked because his win % was one of the worst in 100 years.

If we'd beaten Hull but sold RA or Totth without replacement he'd still be here lets be honest.

Think the news broke about 13.09 Monday he'd been sacked. It seems really unlikely to me that he'd have time to take training Monday morning  have this so called massive fall out with Gestede and then thrash out and agree terms for his departure by mutual consent inside an hour or two.

I think it's likely that in this instance it really is what it said on the tin. He sounded like he knew the gig was up after Saturday's game.

It was quite bizarre . Used to go home every week disappointed. Think we managed 5 home wins all season and 4 draws.

He did have to try and pick the pieces up after Iley tbf which anyone would have struggled with.

Edit: Seem to remember we played well enough under him but lacked a decent striker to put the ball in the net. Did we try signing or had we previously signed a washed up John Radford around that point

Yes, our level of ambition really only suits an unemployed desperado keen to get back into work of some sort.

Lambert/Coyle/Mowbray/Ismael etc.

The outliers were JDT and Eustace -they were also unemployed at the time but their careers weren't on downward trajectories.
