If we had any budget at all for a striker, I'd of liked Richard Kone, plenty in for him though and it seems not to be a priority position at present. RW is vital.

Rejected bids close to 5mill - way out of our budgetΒ

Yes, and as reasonable as your rationale sounds in your head, it’s important to accept that VI / the club may see it differently.

Based on what you’re saying and what the club are saying, I sit somewhere in the middle in that I would probably go with what we have in terms of strikers, but I would definitely get a couple of young forwards who could play across that attacking midfield 3. Thinking Harvey Elliot-esq!

The club might think that. But I am giving my opinion on what I think we need. Obviously I will have no choice but to accept whatever happens.

Leonard hasnt been in the first team pre season squad so if we dont sign a striker, I dont think its down to any faith in him. Nor do I think its Tyjon related as he has been used in a different position. I think if we dont sign a striker, its most likely a case of us having to work within a budget and not deeming another striker as important as other positions. I dont suspect that everything that happens this summer is exactly what Ismael has asked for, I imagine that most managers end a transfer window wishing that they had one or two more than they actually get.

Obviously not suggesting him as we couldnt afford him. But someone of the style of Adam Armstrong would be ideal. Quick, naturally a central player but can also be used wide.

To mark the start of our 150th season, we’ve created a special film, voiced by Alan Shearer that captures who we are and what we stand for. It’s a celebration of our town, our heritage, and our future....We’re proud to have you with us. Let’s write the next chapter together.

Duru not getting a squad number shows where he is in the pecking order.

Also odd to give Pratt one seeing as it's very unlikely they will be registering him after September 1st.

Surely on his way out on loan?Β  Which is best for his development rather than him sat on the bench/i the U21s

Think there are plenty of us who could write the next chapter but frankly, an ending and new book might be better...

On the same day the supporters group have once again called for the Rao family to hand ownership of the club to another party.

Couldn't make it up.

Quite a few players who need loans / should be nowhere near a Championship squad (Batty, M-M) have got squad numbers.

Duru seems to have really fallen out of favour.

Pretty much gone from "next man up" to us playing a CM over him and buying two new RBs.

That's Travis gone then.

Unless he signs a new contract, which I highly doubt. The only one we can afford to let run down his contract is Tronstad, but hoping him and Hyam extends.Β

Agreed that’s how I took the interview

travis will have the greater sale value so easier to take the hit on the other twoΒ

he did reiterate it will have to be a good price for the club so he won’t go cheap

Ismael saying we're only after signing one more player is quite a statement. If that player is the Japanese fella then it's a decent buy.

I'll still be very surprised if we have no loan incomings by the time the window closes.

Ismael has said he has no interest in loans when he attended a breakfast meeting with different businesses leadersΒ

In honesty, if I was offered a striker who was better than both Ohashi and Gueye, on a permenant deal then I’d absolutely snap your hand off. But there’s been absolute no suggestion that is is in any agenda.Β

No - there hasn't. Which is baffling in all honesty.Β  This magical winger is going to have to be an absolute goal machine to make up for Dolan and Weimann's goals - plus add a few more.Β

None of our front players will hit double figures, in my opinion obviously.Β  Β

We are going to have to be incredibly hard to break down.Β  I imagine, like the last couple of seasons, if we don't score first,Β  it's game over.Β
