This is honestly such a stupid system they've put together ๐ย (I know the minutes are irrelevant btw, just emphasising how silly it is) No, the points are only awarded for a league debut. Any minutes in the cup are irrelevant. ย ย ย 2 Quote

I maintain heโs wrong about the Japanese player btw - I think heโd need to be an ESC but not because he played yesterday.ย ย Or we could just go to the appeals board. I'd be surprised if we couldn't get it through, for reasons I outlined in more detail 2 pages back. I'm certain he's been reading, or somebody has fed the notion back to him who has been reading here. He isn't a good enough journalist to think of it himself and look into the regs thoroughly. 1 Quote

This whole thing also means we can sign anyone under (what age?) play them off the bench for a minute in the league and automatically qualify them. Silly stuff. The only limit is how many slots we have free at the time to do so. Quote

Yes, I mentioned heโd be an exception panels case yesterday but omitted to do so this time - my mistake. Iโm not sure whether heโd get through that way as the regulations are very subjective on this - all they say is it must be demonstrated that the player only failed to get to 15 points because of โexceptional circumstancesโ. Thereโs also the ยฃ5,000 + VAT fee the club would need to pay (up front) which needs to be considered - would Pasha sign off on that???? ย ย Quote

I guess the idea is to reward clubโs for giving youth a chance - but youโd have thought theyโd have set that chance a bit higher than a minute! Youth player for this season is anyone born on or before 1st January 2004. 2 Quote

TimmyJimmy Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Mafoumbi isn't selectable for a matchday squad because heโs not registered. To move him from an ESC slot to a GBE the club have to first update their squad registration with the EFL before he meets matchday eligibility rules. We need the slot back so it's good for us to do this, but think of the lad. Comes in as an 'exceptional talent', doesn't get played, doesn't get registered then gets made a humiliating laughing stock appearance as an injury time sub to enable the paperwork for someone else to join. Pretty ruthless to do that to the kid. I'd cringe for him as he walked onto the pitch. ย Could have been planned better IMHO 2 Quote

Sums up the incompetence at the football club. Similar to what cost them a lot of money on Ash Phillips, as I understand it, a few more games and contract extension or higher exit clause. 2 Quote

First professional contract with a foreign club at 19? Nothing suggested that he was an 'exceptional talent' just by looking at those facts.
